Chapter 92

The late evening sun spilled a golden hue through the tall glass windows of Mia's house as Andreas stepped back into the living room. The soft sound of clinking glasses and Sofia's laughter faded as Mia turned to him, immediately sensing something was off.

His face was pale. Strained. Mia’s brows furrowed with worry. “Honey,” she asked gently, stepping closer. “Is something wrong with Mum?”

Andreas blinked and forced a shaky breath. He looked at her, his heart thudding in his chest, then shook his head. “No, my love. Mum's fine.”

Mia tilted her head, still studying him. “Then what is it?”

He swallowed hard. “The call was about Brian.”

“Brian?” Mia's eyes widened. “Is he okay?”

Sofia, who had been curled on the couch with a book, lifted her head. Her small voice broke the moment: “Is something wrong with Brian?”

Andreas hesitated, his gaze shifting to Sofia. He kneeled before her, placing a hand on her shoulder. “We don’t know yet, sweetheart. He’s in the hospital. His heart

Chapter 93The silence in Mia's office was oppressive.Outside, the foundation hummed with fresh energy, the first day of the new week, the official start of their full program. A team of young assistants scurried down the polished halls, laughter and excitement lacing their voices. But within Mia's office, none of that joy could touch her.Her eyes flicked to her phone for the tenth time in three minutes.Nothing.No missed calls. No new messages.Just the last text she’d sent Andreas hours ago. To let her know how Brian is. And that she's thinking of him.Still no reply.Mia stared at the screen as though she could will it into ringing. Her fingers trembled subtly over the polished mahogany desk. She tried to drown herself in paperwork, tried to smile at volunteers and nod through briefings, but guilt simmered beneath every breath she took.Tania must hate me now. And Brian… what if he’s condition was worse than I imagined? The thought twisted her gut.A knock came at the door. Mia

Not for defiance. But for the truth. The moment they stepped into the sunlight that bathed the newly completed U.S. wing of Mia's foundation, the atmosphere shifted. Reporters gasped softly, some guests murmured into their champagne glasses, but none of it mattered. Mia stood tall beside Andreas, radiant in her soft ivory pantsuit that shimmered like pearls under the summer sun. He, in a tailored navy suit, didn’t let go of her hand. Not once. The unveiling ceremony had barely begun when the crowd erupted in a flurry of notifications and buzzes. The news had already hit social media. Photos. Headlines. Speculations. Chapter 90Tania should’ve never changed the channel. The soft cartoon voices that once danced across the hospital room had been replaced immediately now by the piercing brightness of a news anchor's voice—and the image that shattered what little strength she had left. Her fingers trembled around the remote. Her knuckles were white. She couldn't move. Couldn't blink. There they were.Andreas and Mia.Standing together, hand in hand, under the brilliance of camera flashes and headlines that screamed love stories. Mia’s hair was swept elegantly off her shoulders, her tailored white dress pristine. Andreas had that smile, that smile, the one that used to belong only to Tania years ago. The one she used to wake up to.And now it was Mia’s.Tania’s breath caught, and then came the shaking. Her whole body trembled like a branch in a storm, every muscle trying to hold in the cry threatening to erupt from her chest. But it was no use. Her sob cracked through the silence of the hospital room l

Chapter 89Andreas and Mia had no idea that while they were living in a dream, someone else was living through a nightmare. For a week, time seemed to suspend itself for Mia and Andreas as they enjoyed their honeymoon. They strolled through cobbled alleys of Greek villages, kissed under sunsets without glancing over their shoulders, because they didn't have to anymore. For once, there was no hiding. No fear. Just them—two people madly in love and finally allowed to be."You know," Mia said one evening as they sat wrapped in a blanket on the edge of a cliffside villa, overlooking the Aegean Sea, "it almost feels like the universe finally gave us permission."Andreas smiled, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear. "Maybe it just got tired of trying to keep us apart."They laughed. Toasted with wine. Made love in their hotel room, slowly and indulgently. Not caring if reporters caught blurry glimpses, if rumors buzzed around the internet like flies—let them. None of it mattered because

Chapter 87 It all started two days ago... Tania sat in the living room and was flipping through social media when she realized something strange. Andreas hadn’t shown up all day. Not for breakfast. Not for lunch. Not even a moody stroll past the pool with that far-off look he usually reserved for his Mia-induced sulks. The silence in the mansion was unnerving. Too heavy, too still, like something was off the radar and waiting to tip. She tossed her phone onto the armrest of the couch and leaned forward, arms folded on her thighs, eyes darting to the tall windows. Shadows crept slowly across the marble floor, lengthening with time. “Where the hell are you?” she muttered. Just then, small feet padded across the floor, too soft to command attention but loud enough to cut through the silence. Brian. "Mummy..." he mumbled, stopping in front of her. His little hands rubbed his forehead. "I don’t feel good. My head hurts." Tania barely looked up. Her thoughts were tangled in susp
