Ella’s POV

I woke up feeling a little different the next morning– the numbness in my head is completely gone– replaced by anger, pure and raw against Damon, against the ones who had hurt me.

I should have known, I mean did I really expect Damon to choose me of all the girls in school. I guess Sera was the better choice, the one that could match his high end reputation.

I got into the shower and took my bath, then got myself dressed up for school. I wasn't all that confident about what the day would be like but I knew I had to chose me. I couldn't continue hiding myself away, not when it could cost me my future.

I dragged myself down the stairs as I made my way to the living room. The sweet smell of roasting bacon filled my nostrils as I came down.

“Ella.” Mum called noticing me. “Are you okay?” She asked cupping my swollen cheeks as she stared at me with such tenderliness.

“I'm fine. I'm just… off to school.” I replied removing the stray strand of hair that fell over my face. A shiver ran through my spine as I said that word.

“Are you sure? Honey you don't have to.” She objected.

“I have to mum, besides he is not worth it.” I repeated her own words against her. I swear I had heard it replaying over and over in my head while I slept last night. Like a chant, it refused to go.

“Are you sure about this?”

“I'm certain.” I nodded.

“I would drive you sweetheart.” She offered.

“You don't have to, I can get there myself. I also have to do this for me and having you there would ruin that image.” I bit my lip. “I mean, not that you're going to ruin my image. I'm just saying I can do this alone.” I told her before backing out of the house.

Mum followed and closed the door behind me, I finally turned around when I reached out porch. Making my way to school, I should be taking the school bus, I usually took the bus but today, I was running late and the bus would have left.

I also didn't want to take a taxi, the last thing I wanted was to be stuck in a single place sniffing in the scent of fuel after everything I had gone through this week.

Twenty minutes later, as I walked past the school gates. The whole place became eerily quite for a second at least, and then the whispers started.

“Oh my god, look at that.”

“Oh she's back.”

“I was hoping she would stay away for a year.”

“Fatty.” That wasn't a whisper, I'm sure whoever said it meant for me to hear it. I didn't linger much because I wasn't going to stay and listen as they spat all sorts of words at me.

I kept my head high, as I walked past the whisperers into the entrance. My vision got blurred when I didn't blink for too long. My eyelids fluttered on their own Accord and my vision returned to normal. I made my way to my locker, punched in my password and opened it. I dumped my bag in and took out the books I needed for today.

In that moment, something slammed against my face, I was able to duck it due to my not-so-fast reflexes.

“Well, hello there, must be feeling new.” I came face to face with Sera, flanked by Tessa who was laughing at her joke, another very popular cheerleader.

“Please leave.” I said flatly. I wasn't built for a fight today especially not with someone like Sera.

“Or what? You're going to sit on me?” She taunted.

“Sounds like a nice idea.” Tessa joined in an they both bursted into laughter. I tried to side-step them but Sera pulled me back by the hair.

“I'm still talking to you, piece of shit.”

“Let go!” I almost let out a growl but managed to suppress it as a low sound. My wolf was swirling within me.

“Oh I would but first, you got to learn to keep your hands off Damon. He is mine and the only place he is ever going to pick a girl like you over me is in your dreams.” She said as brushed past me.

Tessa did the same and she was harder than Sera, knocking my books off with her weight. The sounds of their footsteps faded away as I bent down to pick up my books.

I heard another set of voices, male and footsteps, heavy. I looked up and spotted Principal Brandon walking alongside a new student.

“Ella, you're back.” He called noticing me. “I trust you're feeling better.”

“Yes, Principal Brandon.” I nodded . My gaze shifted to the student beside him, my breath caught staring at him.

“This is Kael Thorne, transfer student and Mr. Thorne, Elara Blackwood, she is one of our best students and a promising senior.” My eyes didn't leave him as the principal introduced us.

“Ella, I'm sure you can take him on a tour of the whole school. Please excuse me.” None of us broke the silence after the principal left until my wolf decide to say the word .

“Mate.”

Ella's POVThat night, I couldn't eat. I couldn't stop crying. The food my mom left for me sat on the table, getting cold. My stomach was empty, but I didn't care. Every time I tried to take a bite, the lump in my throat made it impossible to swallow. The smell of the food made me feel sick, and I pushed the plate away, watching the steam rise and disappear into the air.I kept messaging Kael. Calling him. Over and over. The phone rang, but he never picked up. My messages went through, but he never read them. It was like I was talking to a ghost. Like he had disappeared from the face of the earth. Every ring that went unanswered felt like a knife twisting deeper into my chest. Why was he doing this? Did he really mean what he said? Was he never coming back to Moonridge? Was that it? Was our relationship just... over? The questions kept spinning in my mind, each one more painful than the last. I couldn't find any answers. I couldn't find any peace. But somehow, Damon showed up.He had

Ella's POVI got out from the school bus, hoping to tell my mom what had happened in school. About Judith. About her being the principal's daughter. About her plan to help me win the election. About seeing her come out of Sara's car.The day had been long. Confusing. My head was still spinning from everything I had learned. The information kept swirling around in my mind like a storm that wouldn't settle. Every time I thought I had processed one piece of it, another detail would surface and knock me off balance again.I wasn't expecting to meet my mom at home. She was usually at the diner this time of day. Working. Serving customers. Staying busy. The diner was her second home, and she rarely left before the evening rush was over. But when I walked down our street, I saw her car parked outside. That was strange. She never came home early. Never. Something had to be wrong for her to leave work in the middle of the day.But I was kind of happy to see it. I needed to talk to her. I neede

Lyra's POVPeople would say it is not possible to love two people at the same time. They would call it selfish. They would call it greedy. But I don't believe that.I love Lucian the same way I love Thorne.I met Thorne first. He came to Moonridge for school. He was handsome. Confident. Different from the other boys. He didn't care about pack politics or alpha status. He just wanted to live his life.We fell in love fast. Deep. The kind of love that consumes you. Then Lucian came back to Moonridge. He was from here, but he didn't grow up here. His family had moved away when he was young. When he returned, he was a stranger in his own pack.I can still remember the day Lucian claimed me as his mate. I am not a wolf, so I don't know how it feels to be a wolf and be mated to one. To be honest, I didn't really give Lucian a chance at first. I was in love with Thorne. I didn't want anyone else. But Lucian was patient. He didn't rush things. He didn't pressure me. He just waited. And that p

Ella's POV"Ella, in case you don't know why I'm doing everything possible to help you win this student president seat, let me tell you."The principal said this after I walked into his office. One of the teachers had told me he wanted to see me. I didn't know why. I didn't know what to expect. But I came anyway."I know," I said. "Sara told me she would get you fired as soon as she gets the seat."He nodded. "You are right. But not just me. Almost all the teachers.""What?" I sounded shocked. I knew Sara was cruel. I knew she wanted power. But firing teachers? All of them? That was a new level of evil."Yes. She is going to make us unemployed. All of us. And you are the only person who can help." He looked at me. His eyes were desperate. "Just win the election.""Why can't you guys just rig the election in my favor?" I asked."Nope. It is not possible. The voting system is transparent. The students will know if something is wrong." He paused. "All you need is a good campaign committe

You have school tomorrow," my mom said. Her voice was calm. Too calm. Like she had already decided what she was going to do. Like she didn't need me around anymore.I looked at Damon. He was sitting on the couch. His hands were on his knees. His face was pale. He looked scared. I don't blame him. My mom was not the same woman I knew. Something had changed in her.I stood up. Walked toward my room. But my feet were heavy. How could I sleep when I didn't know what bad thing my mom was about to do to my friend just to get information from his parents?I stopped at the doorway. Turned back.Damon was looking at me. Ella's POV"Mom, how can we end this curse?"I was helping my mom do laundry. Folding clothes. Sorting socks. Trying to act normal. But my mind was somewhere else. The curse. Rebecca's words. The fear that had been sitting in my chest since I heard the truth. My mom didn't look up from the shirt she was folding."This question shows you've not been listening all this while.""I have been listening, Mom." I stopped folding. "We can rub our minds together to stop this. Two heads are better than one."She sighed. Put the shirt down. Looked at me."There are two ways to stop it. Though I never got that chance."She paused. Her eyes went distant. Like she was seeing something far away."I did my calculations well yesterday. I found out you are the tenth woman since the curse started. So indeed, you have the Blood Moon power within you. The same power that started this."I nodded. I knew this. Rebecca had told me."So to stop this curse, it is either you die. And then you become the last of
