CHAPTER THIRTY TWO: HOT DEBATES AND BETRAYALS

If I thought the council room was quiet before, it was nothing compared to the stifling silence that settled in the room after Alexander finished reading the ominous letter.

I swallowed and wrung my trembling fingers together, clenching my teeth to stop them from chattering wildly.

Alexander let out a deep, heavy sigh and leaned back against his seat, calmly folding the piece of paper. Everyone seemed to be struggling to even take their next breaths and it was Solan that broke the silence.

Her teeth was tightly clenched in barely concealed rage. "This is obviously a slap on the face to our Alpha and our pack! He thinks he can murder our Beta - my husband - and threaten us unprovoked? We can't let him, Diablo or whatever the hell his name is, get away with this! Black Bane will pay for this!"

The whole room was thrown into chaos.

"Yes! I agree with Solan!" A dark skinned woman with gold in her hair said. "Black Bane's tyranny needs to come to an end
