I rose to my feet.

My pulse thundered in my ears.

The branches swayed gently in the evening breeze.

For a moment...

No one appeared.

Then...

A man stepped out from the shadows.

He looked to be in his late sixties.

His gray beard was neatly trimmed.

His coat was worn from years of travel.

But it was his eyes that caught my attention.

Kind.

Gentle.

And filled with memories.

"You..."

I whispered.

"You know my father."

He smiled.

"I knew both of your parents."

  • MY EX WANTS ME BACK   Beneath the Cliffs

Diane's povThe cave swallowed us.The sound of the sea changed instantly.Outside...The waves had crashed against the cliffs.Inside...Every drop of water echoed through the darkness. My flashlight swept across damp stone walls.Ancient markings covered the rock. Not words.Symbols.Simple circles.Oak trees.Stars.Margaret smiled softly."Jonathan carved those."I looked closer."My father?"She nodded."He always worried someone would get lost.""So he left a trail only his friends would recognize."For the first time...The cave didn't feel frightening. It felt...Welcoming.The passage narrowed.Marcus sighed as he squeezed between two walls of rock."If I survive this...""I'm never complaining about office elevators again."Sarah laughed quietly."You'll complain.""You always do.""Probably."He admitted."But I'll complain with gratitude."Even Richard smiled. The sound eased some of the tension. The tunnel sloped downward.Cold seawater covered our boots. The deeper we wa

  • MY EX WANTS ME BACK   The Journey to Blackstone

Diane's povRain fell steadily through the night.By sunrise...The Holloway Estate felt different.Quieter.As though the house itself knew we were about to leave.I stood at the bedroom window.Beyond the gardens...Mist rolled over the hills.Somewhere beyond those hills...Blackstone Lighthouse waited. For thirty years...It had guarded my parents' final secret.Tonight...We would finally reach it.---Breakfast was unusually quiet.Even Marcus wasn't joking much.He pushed scrambled eggs around his plate before sighing."I've got a bad feeling."Sarah looked at him."You always have a bad feeling.""True."He admitted."But today...""It feels earned."Margaret reached across the table and gently squeezed his shoulder."Fear isn't weakness.""It's proof you understand what's at stake."Marcus managed a small smile."I'll pretend that makes me feel better.""It wasn't supposed to."She replied.---After breakfast...Richard spread the coastal maps across the dining table one fin

  • MY EX WANTS ME BACK   Before the Storm

Diane's povMorning arrived gently. For the first time in weeks...I woke to birdsong instead of nightmares.Sunlight filtered through the curtains of the old guest room. For a few peaceful seconds...I forgot about The Circle.Forgot about hidden rooms.Forgot about missing people.Forgot about danger. Then I saw my father's journal on the bedside table.Reality returned. The smell of fresh coffee drifted through the hallway. When I reached the kitchen...Sarah was already helping Margaret prepare breakfast.Marcus stood by the stove.Holding a spatula.Looking completely lost."I've burned toast."He announced."Twice."Sarah laughed."You burned bread.""I didn't know that was possible.""It shouldn't be."Margaret smiled."But somehow...""You've managed it."The kitchen filled with quiet laughter. For a little while...The Holloway Estate felt less like a headquarters. And more like a home.Richard entered carrying a stack of old blueprints."I couldn't sleep."He admitted."I th

  • MY EX WANTS ME BACK   The Promise Between Fathers

Diane's povNo one spoke. The old watch rested in Abe's palm. Its quiet ticking seemed impossibly loud inside the library.Seven names. One hidden Guardian.Another secret.Normally...That would have been enough to send my thoughts racing.Instead...I found myself watching Abe.He hadn't moved. His thumb gently traced the engraving of the tiny oak tree. For the first time since I'd known him...He didn't look like the confident man who always believed he could fix everything. He looked...Like a son who had finally found his father again.Richard carefully folded the list."We're done for tonight."Marcus looked surprised."That's it?"Richard nodded."We're exhausted.""And exhausted people make careless decisions."No one argued. He was right.Margaret prepared the guest rooms upstairs.Samuel volunteered to take the first watch.Marcus insisted on taking the second."I'll probably stay awake worrying anyway."He joked.Sarah smiled."Just don't scream if the house creaks.""No pr

  • MY EX WANTS ME BACK   Thomas's Son

Abe's pov Darkness swallowed the library. For a single heartbeat...Everything was still. Then the emergency lights flickered on.A dull amber glow spilled across the bookshelves.I looked around instinctively."Richard?"No answer. The mansion remained quiet.Too quiet.I looked back at the hidden drawer. The velvet box...Was still there. So was the note. For Thomas's son.My pulse quickened.Slowly...I reached inside. The velvet felt surprisingly warm beneath my fingers.I lifted the box carefully. The drawer slid shut behind me with a soft click."Abe?"Sarah's voice echoed from the hallway."I'm in the library."She stepped inside."You disappeared."Then she noticed the box."What's that?""I don't know."She walked closer."You should probably wait for everyone."I nodded."You're right."A few minutes later...The entire group gathered in the library.Richard studied the note."It's Charles' handwriting."Samuel smiled faintly."I'd know those letters anywhere."Margaret nod
