Chapter 64.

Anna's POV.

It took nearly an hour before Stacy could let go off me. I had underestimated her reaction but it was worth seeing the appreciation and excitement on her face.

“Have a seat.” She offered enthusiastically. “I can't believe this! How did you survive? The rumours claim you died. Some said you went to enemy territory and couldn't make it.”

“Tell me, I've got so much to know,” she tugged on my sleeve, her smile warm and bright.

“It's a long story, Stacy. My life suddenly changed after you came with the news that Rogers was in the aisle with another woman,”

I sat up straight and crossed my arms with a tight lock. “I thought I was over. Gone. Forgotten. Even when the guards chased to kill me, I thought I wouldn't survive,” I continued.

“It was awful,” she added. “I got tortured because the people felt like I was the reason you escaped our Alpha's wrath,”

“That bastard!” I spat out.

She hissed and shook her head frantically. “He's done much worse since you lef

Chapter 69. Roger's POV. These elders were delirious; Elders and Nobles, alike. They were all the dumbest of their kind. Their insistence on tradition got me flaming mad at them and they stood on it without fear of what I was going to do to them. “You don't know what you are talking about. He is my son, my heir,”“Yes Alpha,” the oldest elder in the room chorused. “But he is not a true blood of the Bond pack,” “I'm the Alpha, ain't that enough blood to get him that,” I fired. “It's not done that way. If we let you crown your son alpha after you, we are going to incur the wrath of the goddess upon us,” They chattered in agreement. Enraged, I slammed my fist angrily against my thighs. “You don't actually believe that. It's the dumbest thing I have ever heard,” I growled. “You all claim to be elders and nobles of this pack, but what I see are a bunch of wimps. Cowards!” I growled. “If you could let me rule then why is there an opposition against my heir,” They all went silent,

Chapter 68. Anna's POV. Their eyes were still fixed on me like a headlight without its control to switch it off. I felt troubled, exposed and weak. What if they had found out I wasn't really Amelia? What if they had somehow recognized me and they were sharing subtle signs on how they could report me? Someone in a corner hissed aloud. “Your asthma must have gotten to your head?” The chubby lady finally replied. She was a new worker because I couldn't recognize her. I wonder how she was able to work herself through the ranks in less than two years. “I'm sorry, I'm feeling a little dizzy.” I lied miserably. “Yeah, you look so pale and skinny,” a woman walked beside me, leaving her sauce that she was stirring dutifully. She pretended to support me on my right shoulder. “I'm a friend of Amelia's, go with the flow,” she whispered in my ears and pinched my neck so hard that I almost fell on my knees. “Take it easy,” she patted my shoulder and smiled at her fellow workers. “Oh great

Chapter 67. Anna's POV. “Remember, you go by the name Amelia. A mother of three, no husband and you got Asthma so you can't be in dusty places,” Stacy and the woman who she led me to walked around me in a circular motion. The morning dew wasn't enough to make them recoil their arms against the cold. They were used to it.Their eyes were fixed on how fitted her worn out black uniform looked on me. I felt it exposed my thighs all the way down to my knees. I was supposed to be a worker, not a sexy one. “Wait, if I got Asthma, then why am I working as a maid?” I questioned. “You work in the kitchen section, and that's even more dangerous if you ask me,” Amelia responded. My eyes fixated on the woman I was supposed to be impersonating and I blinked. “What do you think? Are people going to buy that I look like you?” She immediately went silent, her eyes darting in all directions except mine. “What? Why aren't you guys saying anything?” “Um, Anna. You both look strikingly different.

Chapter 66. Gabriel's POV. Anna was gone even taking her presence with her. It felt as though she took a portion of myself with her. I felt different. Hollow. My wolf growled angrily and he wouldn't even stop for hours. I was heated, my blood simmered and my head almost ran crazy with the thought of Anna. Where was she? Was she safe? Had she run into Alpha Rogers? “Alpha!” Marcus' deep voice snapped me out of my thoughts. I looked in his direction, my eyebrows rising in curiosity. The elders and the noble are waiting for you,” he reported. I exhaled heavily, staring up at the ceiling. “I'll be with them in a minute. For now… I just need to be alone,” “Yes Alpha,” he replied, proceeding to shut the door. Mere inches from slamming it shut, I stopped him as I raised my pointer finger. “You did not happen to see Anna leaving with anyone, right?”He moved in again and shook his head. “No sir. We will find her if she's still in our territory,” “She's gone,” I said in my head, ti

Chapter 65. Anna's POV. My hands were crossed as I flickered with hope again. I knew I should have listened to myself and I was right. I glanced at the letter on her hands, my lips twisting in curiosity. “I'm sorry, did you say a dungeon?” I questioned. “Yes, by the courtyard,” she replied. I scoffed in astonishment, looking sideways and placing my hands on my waist. “But there was never a dungeon to begin with.” “Exactly!” She exclaimed. “Until I woke up on a random day, shocked to see one. It was like they secretly built it and only Stella goes in. Usually in the night,”“What do you think she does there,” I asked, eager to get an answer. “Beats me. I never snooped around coz the guards can be super cautious. I don't want to be hanged or disappear without a trace,” she said, her arms in the air as shook her head. I quirked a brow and widened her eyes. “I'm serious. Since you left it has been happening a lot.” She added. I sighed and walked closer to her. “Look Stacy, I wan
