DYLAN’S POV
“Damn it. How the hell am I supposed to get out of here?”
It was cold. I felt my pulse accelerate as my bare feet pressed against the cold ground. Stones bit into my soles, twigs snapped but I had nothing to do. Stopping meant death and slowing meant capture.
Shifting was now hard. My wolf was now tired, his presence faint and trembling inside me, no longer surging with strength but dragging at my limbs like a dying flame. Each attempt to call him closer ended in pain, my body refusing to obey. I was trapped in this fragile skin, too weak to become what I needed to survive.
The air burned my lungs each time I breathed, carrying the scent of pine and rot but I still had nothing to do. I only ran faster. They were behind me, hunting me in their wild forms.
I had been a rogue for a long time. Years spent moving from territory to territory, surviving with others. We learned how to disappear, how to hunt quietly and most years, we were successful. We outran patrols, avoided borders, vanished before Alphas could catch our scent.
But now I crossed into the wrong territory, the feared pack where the moon above me looked crimson. It begged for blood and I knew that soon I was going to be killed.
The warriors hunting me were stronger than any I had faced before. I already saw the aftermath of their hunt, bodies torn apart, rogues who hadn’t been fast enough, clever enough, lucky enough. The others were already dead.
Shallow breaths made their way out of my lungs. My limbs were sore along with the rest of my body. I was unaware of how much longer I could run.
Where are the goddamn roads? I groaned to myself, kicking mud off my feet as my wolf stirred weakly, claws barely surfacing before retreating again. I needed an exit. A border. Anything. Because I could no longer hold them off.
Branches cracked somewhere to my left and it scared me immediately. My head snapped in that direction .Between the trees, a pair of golden eyes stared back at me.
My heart sank. They had found me.
My body reacted before my mind could even think. I turned and ran.
“There he is!”A rough voice exploded behind me.“The damn rogue! He’s in our territory! Catch him!”
A furious howl ripped through the night. The next second, the ground shook beneath the thunder of paws chasing after me. Closer.
They were getting closer.
No. No. No.
I can’t get caught. Not here. Not by them.I prayed silently as my legs carried me forward, even though every muscle in my body screamed for me to stop.
Without warning, my foot caught on a hidden root, and I went down hard. The impact knocked the breath from my lungs, forcing a strangled gasp from my throat. Pain exploded through my knee, sharp and sickening, and I cried out before I could stop myself. Mud coated my hands as I scrambled, my claws tearing uselessly at the ground as I tried to push myself up.
I was too slow.
A pair of massive boots appeared in my vision. I froze.
Then another. And another. They circled me with ease. I quickly backed away until my shoulders hit a tree trunk. There was nowhere left to run. My wolf whimpered inside me, weak and broken, curling in on himself as if he already knew the end was near.
“Look at that,” one of them sneered. “The little rogue finally ran out of places to hide.”
Another warrior laughed coldly.“After trespassing into SilverStone territory, did you really think you’d walk away alive?”
My fingers tightened against the bark behind me, trying to hide the tremble running through my body.
Damn it.
I hated that they could see my weakness.I hated that my body was betraying me.
“Pathetic,” one of the wolves spat. “All that running, and this is where you end up?”
He stepped closer, his golden eyes filled with disgust.
“Rogues are all the same. No pack. No loyalty. No honor.”
His lips curled into a cruel smile,“You crawl into another pack’s territory and still expect mercy?”
I swallowed hard, forcing myself to meet his gaze despite the fear twisting in my chest.“I don’t belong to any pack,” I said through clenched teeth. “And I don’t need one.”
The warriors laughed.
“Listen to him. Still pretending he has pride.”One of them crouched down, grabbing my chin roughly and forcing me to look up.
“You’re just a rogue,” one of the warriors sneered, looking me over with disgust. “And you’ll die just like every other rogue who crosses our borders.”
My wolf growled weakly inside me, but even he knew we were outmatched.“Kill me then,” I spat, refusing to lower my eyes. “Isn’t that what you want?”
The warrior stared at me for a moment, then laughed.“Trust me, rogue. That would be too easy.”
He released me with disgust and stood up.
“Take him to the Alpha.”
The moment those words left his mouth, every bit of warmth drained from my body.
No. Anyone but him.
Alpha Asher. The same infamous Alpha who was feared across every territory. The same Alpha who had destroyed my pack and taken my family from me.
That single sentence sealed my fate. Strong hands closed around my arms before I could react. I tensed, instinct screaming at me to fight, but my body betrayed me again. My legs buckled, weakness crashing over me in a brutal wave. My wolf growled faintly inside me, furious and helpless, his claws scraping uselessly against the cage of my exhaustion.
“Don’t touch me,” I hissed, struggling weakly.
“Save your strength. You’ll need it.” Steve tightened his grip then they dragged me away from the tree, deeper into the forest. Every step sent fresh pain shooting through my knee, my lungs burning with each shallow breath I forced in. Blood and mud clung to my skin, the cold seeping deeper now that I had stopped running.
Killed on the spot would’ve been mercy. Meeting the Alpha was a sentence far worse than death.
DYLAN’S POVI stormed down the wide hallway, bare feet slapping against the cold hardwood like I could punish the floor for Asher’s bullshit. The graveyard. The graveyard. The word kept looping in my head, louder than my heartbeat, angrier than the unwanted ache still throbbing in my cock from earlier. He thought he could just shower, dress like some untouchable king, and walk out with “That’s the order” hanging in the air like I was one of his soldiers? No. Fuck no.I was going to his office. I was going to plant myself in front of that stupid desk until he came back, and then I was going to make him look me in the eye and explain why pack meetings ranked higher than innocent parents that were killed terribly. If he wanted to play Alpha, fine. But he wasn’t playing it with me today.Just as I rounded the corner near the main staircase, I nearly collided with Rhea. She was coming the other way, her fingers brushing her hair. Her eyes widened the second she saw me.“I see you’re headin
ASHER’S POV“Alpha, we have the Lockwood’s Alpha and his members at the west border. They seemed to be quite angry, Lucas is already there,” my beta, Henry, informed me as soon as I walked out of Dylan’s room.I halted immediately. What the fuck did Nigel Lockwood want now? At this fucking time also.I still felt the residual heat of Dylan’s thinner body pressed against mine, the way the mate bond had forced my cock between the firm cheeks of another man, something I had never wanted, never sought, and still hated with every rational part of me. We were both straight. We both knew it. The bond didn’t care. It had made me hard against him anyway, made me rock against him like I wanted it, when all I really wanted was to put distance between us and never touch another man again. The disgust sat heavy in my gut even now but at that time it was sweet desire.“Did any of the guards tell you anything?” I asked while walking beside Henry, forcing my mind away from the memory of Dylan’s reluc
Dylan’s POV“Dylan… I… I thought you were alone!” Rhea squeaked, slapping both hands over her eyes like that could erase the image. I didn’t reply because I was also speechless. “I swear I knocked! Quietly! I heard rumors that you tried to escape during the night and I was worried. I wanted to check if you were okay, if you needed ice or … or anything….” She kept on stammering loudly. Before I could say anything, Asher stirred behind me with a low, rumbling growl that vibrated straight through my spine. His arm tightened reflexively around my middle, pulling my thinner body harder against him so the thick length of his cock notched deeper between my ass cheeks without entering.“Stop .... your sister is here,” I tried to shove him away, voice tight with disgust. His eyes cracked open, bleary and dangerous. “Rhea,” he rasped, voice gravel-thick with sleep and irritation. “Get. Out.”Rhea peeked through her fingers, then immediately slammed them shut again. “I’m sorry! I’m so sorry! I d
By the time the rain slowed to a steady murmur against the windows, Asher was already asleep behind me, deep, untroubled breaths that edged into soft snores every few cycles. The sound should have grated. It didn’t. It was infuriatingly human. Proof that the monster who’d just cum down my throat and promised to claim me tomorrow could still switch off like any other man.His arm lay heavy across my thin waist, possessive even in sleep as if I could run away from him. His chest pressed to my back, heat bleeding through every point of contact. And lower God, lower he was still brutally hard. The thick length of him lay trapped between us, hot and heavy against the cheeks of my ass. With every slow breath he took, it shifted just enough for the swollen head to drag lazily along my skin, catching on the slickness that refused to stop leaking from me.I was hard, shamefully and obscenely so. The insides of my thighs glistened, sticky and cool where the air touched them. Every tiny movement
I glared up at him through the wet strands of hair plastered to my face, every muscle coiled tight with the urge to snap. His thumb lingered at the seam of my lips, patient, arrogant, like he already knew the exact second I would break. My tongue flicked out, just enough to taste the salt on his skin before I closed my lips around the pad of his thumb and bit down. Not hard enough to draw blood but just enough to make him hiss.He didn’t flinch. Instead, the corner of his mouth kicked higher.“Good boy,” he murmured, the praise landing like a slap. “Now use that mouth the way it’s meant to be used.”I wanted to spit venom. I wanted to claw his eyes out. But the traitorous heat in my cock was screaming louder than my pride, and the longer I knelt here, naked, dripping, trembling for another man, the more undeniable it became that the forbidden bond was winning.I hated him.I hated that I was going to do this anyway.I hated that we were both straight and still bound by this sin.Slowl
DYLAN’S POVThe bathroom door clicked shut behind him with a soft finality that felt louder than any slam.I stayed exactly where I was, back pressed to the cold stone, legs still slightly spread, hand frozen mid-stroke over my cock like the command had short-circuited every nerve. Water kept pounding down, turning my thin skin pink and sensitive, but the heat in my groin had nothing to do with the shower anymore. My chest heaved with rage and shame. That sick, pulsing want I couldn’t strangle no matter how hard I tried. I hated him but I hated myself more, for reacting to another man, for the forbidden bond that forced this on both of us.Slowly because every movement felt like surrender, I lowered my hand. The sudden absence of pressure made the ache worse, sharper, like my body was punishing me for stopping. I turned off the water with a vicious twist of the knob. Silence crashed in, broken only by the drip-drip from the showerhead and my own ragged breathing.I stepped out, snatch
