Arielle’s POV

The car rolled to a gentle stop in a quiet part of town, surrounded by tall trees and a cozy, open-air café.

I blinked, then looked at him in surprise.

“Cassian, this isn’t home,” I murmured.

“No,” he answered, then glanced at me.

“It’s definitely a café,” he said as he got out.

I frowned deeply, then sighed heavily.

Why were we even here? Was he meeting someone else?

Those thoughts troubled me, but I couldn't even bring myself to ask. All I could do was watch as he walked around to my side and opened the door for me.

"Thanks," I whispered as I stepped out, a little hesitant, trying my best to calm my pounding heart.

"You are welcome, princess," he responded and then went on to close the door.

I stood frozen in place, looking at him in disbelief.

"What...?" I whispered.

"Is there a problem?" he asked, with a brow raised.

"No. I just thought I heard something," I answered and then chuckled nervously.

It was obvious I was hearing things too. Perhaps it was because of the a

Cassian’s POVI drove in silence, my hand tightening on the wheel every few seconds. My mind kept circling back to that boy.Not only had Arielle grabbed his hand, but he had the audacity to be in her college, walking beside her like he had every right.Fury burned in me. Every instinct screamed at me to demand answers from her right there, to follow her into that classroom, to drag her away from him in front of everyone. But I knew better. If I made a scene, it wouldn’t just be me who suffered—it would be her. The whispers, the gossip, the judgment would swallow her whole. And I could never let that happen. Her happiness had always been mine. Even if I was a selfish bastard, I wanted nothing more than to protect her. That’s why I forced myself to back down, to wait until she returned home. But then her call came—unexpected, soft, and warm. The moment she asked for me, I couldn’t resist. I went to her without hesitation. Now, with her in my car, silence stretched between us. I searche

  • FATED to SIN, BOUND by TIME   28: A Shield I Never Asked For

Arielle’s POVJustin’s eyes never left me the entire lecture. It was suffocating. Not only had I dragged him into class earlier without a word of explanation, but I also avoided him once the lecturer walked in. Every time I pretended not to notice his glare, the weight of it pressed down on me. I couldn’t focus on the lesson at all—I was just painfully aware of his stare burning holes through me.“Don’t forget to go through your assessment,” the lecturer announced while shutting his book. “And remember, exams start in a few days.”When the bell rang, relief shot through me. I quickly started packing my books and notes into my bag, eager to escape before Justin cornered me.But when I turned to leave, there he was—leaning against the doorframe with his arms crossed, blocking the way.I froze instantly. Ignoring him was no longer an option.I forced myself forward and grabbed his wrist, pulling him away from the door. My classmates’ whispers instantly filled the room.“Are they seriousl

  • FATED to SIN, BOUND by TIME   27: A Ride to Remember

Arielle’s POVI hadn’t slept much, and honestly, it was becoming my new normal. Every time I had too much on my mind or when something happened with Cassian, sleep just refused to come. Last night was no different. My body was tired, but my mind was still stuck replaying what had happened yesterday—Cassian walking in on me half-naked.The embarrassment was unbearable. Every time I thought about it, I buried my face in the pillow and groaned. But if I was being honest, there was another part of me… the secret, shameful part that felt a little bit excited. I had seen the look in his eyes when he froze at the door. I knew I had affected him. I knew I had turned him on, even if only for a second. That thought kept me awake; it made my heart flutter like a fool’s, and yet, it also made me restless.Still, what made everything worse was that he left. He didn’t come back. Not even when Mom and Raya returned home. Not even when dinner was ready. The seat at the table that usually held his pre

  • FATED to SIN, BOUND by TIME   26: Dangerous Glances

Cassian’s POVThe sound of a car pulling into the driveway made my chest tighten. I stood up from the living room couch slowly, running a hand through my hair before walking to the door. When I opened it, Evelyn stood there with a bright smile on her lips.“You’re back home early,” I said, leaning forward to kiss her cheek out of habit.“Well, I forgot one of my files in the bedroom,” she explained lightly as she stepped closer.“You could’ve called. I’d have brought it to your office,” I said seriously. She chuckled softly, brushing a strand of hair from her face. “I wanted to, but then I thought—seeing your face makes the drive worth it.”Her voice carried a playful lilt, and the way her eyes lingered on me made it clear she was flirting. I forced a small smile, but inside, it unsettled me. I stepped aside, opening the door wider to let her in. She went straight upstairs while I closed the door behind her, my chest heavy with unease.I turned, ready to head back into the living room

  • FATED to SIN, BOUND by TIME   25: The Guy Who Shouldn’t Be Here

Arielle’s POVI walked across the campus, dragging my feet, each step heavier than the last. My eyes stung from lack of sleep, and the weight in my chest refused to lift. Last night, I’d barely closed my eyes because my mind wouldn’t stop replaying his voice—Cassian’s confession.I love you. Those words kept echoing inside me like a melody I never wanted to stop hearing. Even when Mom and Soraya came home from work, I had to bite my lip to hide my smile. I couldn’t stop stealing glances at him when no one was looking. It felt so unreal—too good.I’d even spent half the night on my phone, searching online for hidden romantic spots, imagining us sneaking away like any other couple. Places where no one would judge us, where no one would see him as my stepfather, just as a man in love with me. That little fantasy made my heart race, but now… I was paying the price. My body was fatigued, my head pounding.Sliding into the lecture hall, I collapsed into my seat and rubbed my temples. The pr

  • FATED to SIN, BOUND by TIME   24: Stolen Moments in the Kitchen

Cassian’s POV“Cassian, hold on!” Arielle exclaimed breathlessly as I dragged her downstairs from her room.“I don’t want to waste this moment,” I answered simply, my hand refusing to let go of hers.We stepped into the kitchen, the faint smell of spices and detergent lingering in the air. I released her hand long enough to reach for one of the aprons hanging on the wall. I tied it around my waist with an exaggerated sigh, then turned to face her.Her lips pressed together as she tried not to laugh, but the sparkle in her eyes gave her away.“What?” I asked softly, raising a brow. “Do I look weird?”“No,” she said, shaking her head quickly. “Actually, you look… cool.”That lasted only two seconds before she burst into laughter. The sound of it made me laugh too.“Before Soraya comes back,” I said, my voice lower now, deliberate, “I want to cook for you.”Her laughter died down as she leaned her elbows on the counter. “Cook? For me?”“Yes,” I said firmly, pretending I didn’t hear the d
