After I'd left Lucas's office that the day before, I'd hurried straight up to his suite and into his bathroom to stare at it in the mirror. Like I suspected, Gavin's mark was completely gone, and on the other side of my neck, Lucas's mark grew slowly. What started as two dark puncture marks were now two intertwined spirals of what looked like black smoke. It was beautiful. But the real wonder was in my mark that lay on Lucas's neck. Everyone that had seen him had commented on it. His had quickly grown into two wolves curled around a small crescent moon so it looked they were reaching for each other and we're curled up in a circle. Where his two dark punctures lay were two very small stars. It looked like a very intricate tattoo. It made me proud just to look at it and now, a slight smile curved my lips as I remembered the look on his face when he'd seen it.

A slight tug at the hem of my dress pulled me out of my reverie and had me looking down. A little girl of about six stood there,

  • FERAL    Chapter 40

It was late that night when Lucas returned to the suite, more angry than tired. Yes, he'd known the Alpha of Blue Moon would be at the Luna Ceremony tonight, had even counted on it. It had saved him the trouble of actually fishing the man out from the safety of his pack.Lucas knew the moment the man saw Adrienne or even heard her name, he would try to make a run for it. In a welcome coincidence, the ceremony did not allow for it. It was a law that those present in the Luna Queen coronation not leave the room until all the vows had been said. He'd had his eye on the man the entire time, seen the fidgety behavior that pinned him as guilty. He'd made his guards aware that under no circumstances should Alpha Marcus of Blue Moon Pack be allowed to leave the Great Hall, talk less of the pack grounds. True to his suspicion, the moment the crown had been placed on his mate's head, the stupid man had tried to make a run for it. To his

  • FERAL    Chapter 39

I was only vaguely aware of the appalled gasps of the guests as they quickly got out of the way of their newly appointed, slightly feral Luna Queen. My leap from the dias had me landing slightly crouched, right in front of Alpha Marcus. One look at my face had the guards holding him down take a step back. My arm swung in a blinding motion as I delivered a bone-cracking blow to Alpha Marcus's jaw. He staggered backwards, snarling as he quickly reset the broken jaw. Not giving him a chance for much else, I lunged again, hands shifted to claws, and swiped at his face. This time he was a bit more faster, and managed to avoid the hit.I growled lowly again, but this time, snow growled with me. I ripped away savagely at the train of my dress to keep it from getting in my way and noticed with detachment that I'd lost my shoes.I stalked forward, eyes glowing, and fixed on my prey. This was the man that had caused

It was a slow march, accompanied by the poignant notes of a lone violin. I kept my eyes firmly trained on the plush red carpet in front of me, wildly hoping my feet didn't catch on the trailing hem of my dress. The crowd was silent, standing at the edges of the carpet, making some sort of aisle. I could almost hear Lucas's voice in my head, telling me to raise my head.I did, surreptitiously taking in the details of the room. It was rightly called the Great Hall, I thought. Much like the guards before, the room was decorated in rich tones of red and gold. Strategic tables with the same rich red tablecloths were placed at the corners of the room, piled high with small finger foods and desserts, even a champagne fountain. The room was pleasantly cool, no doubt alleviated by the fact that the ceilings were indeed very far up, with high beams, and slowly rotating fans adding to the feeling of hypnosis.&

The ceremony was to hold in the ground floor of the pack house and since Meg and Alexis didn't think it would be a good idea to have me get ready at Lucas' house and possibly get my dress dirty on the way here, I was made to get ready in Lucas's penthouse up in the pack house. Lucas himself came from his home to get me. We were in the elevator as Meg so graciously pointed out that trying the manoeuvre the stairs in the voluminous dress I had on, while simultaneously not being able to see my feet - that were teetering slightly in their heeled confines - was a recipe for disaster, or at best, a sprained ankle.Lucas was staring at me with something akin to wonder in his eyes, while my heart pounded wildly. When I tried to speak, my voice came out shaky and slightly high-pitched. "W-where..." I cleared my throat and forced my vocal cords to work in some semblance of normalcy. "Where are the pack members?""Alr

My words hung in the air like a charged current. Lucas remained silent, staring at me. Finally, he found his tongue."N-now?", He croaked.I nodded my head. What better time than the present. Besides, if he didn't do it now, I might lose my nerve."Now.""Are you sure?", He asked again."I'm sure."I walked straight into his arms and looked up at him. I saw his eyes darken the split second before he plunged down and took my lips in his.Desire shot through me and I pressed myself to his hard chest and he opened his arms to squeeze me more tightly into himself. He teased my lips with his, biting, suckling, and nibbling until I couldn't take it anymore. I parted my lips for him and his tongue slid in for a split second before darting out again.Groaning, I angled my head a bit more and his mouth continued their reckless plundering. My arms came up around his neck and my hands dived into his lush hair, drawing him closer, wanting to feel all of him. When he wasn't forthcoming, my tongue
