πŸ’ CHAPTER ONE πŸ’

"I want you out of my sight for good! " A resounding was violently landed on Mila's face and the poor woman slumped to the floor.

"I already told you to stay the fuck away from me! I don't want that filthy hands of yours all over me, but you just don't want to understand, do you? " Her husband, Killian, roared impatiently.

"I'm sorry, Hun. I was just trying to help relieve your stress. " Mila's voice broke as she couldn't hold back the tears that tumbled down her swollen cheek. She held her left cheek which was stinging badly in pain.

But Killian couldn't care less. He grabbed her arm and shoved her off the floor to himself, his nails digging mercilessly into her soft creamy skin.

"You're my number one stress, Melina. So if you want to help, get the fuck out of my life! " A whimper left Mila's throat as she was violently shoved aside. She fell with a loud thud, her elbow brushing with the ceramic tile.

Killian stormed out of their bedroom, slamming the door so loud that Mila flinched. Not knowing what to do, the poor woman broke down in uncontrollable tears.

This wasn't the first time something like this was happening and Mila was sure it wouldn't be the last. This has been her life for the past three years now. But this wasn't how it has always been.

Killian and Mila have known each other since high school. Back then, when Mila was still 12, she was the awkward and quiet type who never had the courage to talk to anyone and no one in her class wanted to talk to her either. Killian was the first boy and person to talk to her the very first day he entered her school.

They two became close friends and even went to the same college. Killian was the only guy friend Mila had, who helped her overcome her unnecessary shyness and even helped her make tons of friends; the only guy who took very good care of her like an older brother.

It didn't take long for Mila to realize she had feelings for Killian. And during their graduation day, Mila was more than elevated when Killian confessed his feelings for her. It didn't take long for the two of them to get married at a very young age.

Blinded by his love for Killian, she canceled her admissions and became a housewife, going against her family's wishes.

Coming from a very wealthy family, Mila's father, was a well-known politician and since Mila was his only child, Mr. Throndsen wanted her to take over. But Mila rejected all of these, just so she can be with Killian.

Their marriage was moving perfectly, exactly like every marriage in a fictional romance story. Killian was the best husband any woman would ever ask for. He pampered Mila like she was the queen of his world and made sure she didn't lack anything. He made sure she never for one day regret leaving her family for him.

But everything took a drastic turn in just a matter of one year. On the night of their first wedding anniversary, Killian became a different person; a monster Mila could no longer recognize.

Mila gathered her shit together, wiping her tears as she dragged her weak self off the floor and made her way downstairs. Her eyes went straight to the front door that was left open, indicating that Killian already left the house, before tracing back to the mess in the dining room.

There were broken pieces of plates and glass scattered all over the floor. The pile of food was wasting on the floor, including the expensive wine that has covered the dining table and dripped down to the floor. Seeing everything, Mila almost started crying again.

This was supposed to be a surprise dinner. Mila had spent all day cleaning and cooking all of Killian's favorite dishes, her eyes beaming with excitement as she anticipated the romantic night ahead. But all her hard work and expectations were shoved aside and shattered to pieces on the floor.

Sniffing back her tears, Mila headed over and started a thorough cleaning. By the time she was done, the poor woman was exhausted. She plunged to the nearest sofa.

Not knowing what else to do or even think about, Mila felt suffocated just sitting around. She was getting fed up with everything and was at her breaking point. And if she stays even one more minute in this house, she might lose it.

She quickly placed a call to her best friend, Abigail.

"Yo, girl, what's up! " Abigail yelled over the phone forcing Mila to pull the phone away from her ear.

"What's popping, baby girl? " The hyper woman demanded and a soft chuckle left Mila's lips.

"Are you free, Abby? I want us to hang out... tonight." Mila's voice came out too low and crackled that even Abigail could immediately tell something was off.

"Mila, are you ok? What's wrong? Wait... Have you been crying? "

"It's nothing like that, Abby. I'm just a little bit tired " Mila tried covering up.

"Tell me the truth, Mila, did that bastard raise his hand at you again? " Mila could already tell the stench in Abigail's voice.

"Abby...

"You know what? Stay right where you are. I'm coming to pick you up" The call was disconnected even before Mila could say anything further.

The loud horn snapped Mila out of her lost thoughts. She sprang up from the cushion and rushed outside. Abigail on the other hand hurried out of her car the moment she saw Mila and pulled her to a hug.

"Tell me, Mila? Are you okay? Did that imbecile touch you again? Tell me which place hurts, where did he hit you?"

Mila hissed in pain when Abigail accidentally touched her swollen cheek. Abigail's eyes went red in anger.

"That animal! How dare he lay a finger on you again?! I'm gonna fucking kill him!"

"Where is he?! Where are you, you ugly-looking bastard?!" The furious woman stormed into the house, her eyes roving about like she was hunting for her prey. Mila rushed inside and when Abigail was about to storm upstairs, she held her hand and pulled her back.

"He left, Abby. He left even before I could make it downstairs" She mumbled.

"Please, calm down"

Abigail took in a deep breath before turning to Mila whose eyes were brimming with tears.

"I swear to God, Mila, if this man doesn't stop hitting you, I'm going to call the police on him. I'm going to get that sick bastard arrested! "

"Abigail, that's enough! Forget about that. I just want to go somewhere where I can have a good time and forget about everything, please "

Abigail hissed angrily and turned away with a huff. This has always been the problem. Abigail was aware of everything going on in Mila's marriage but whenever she tried to interfere, Mila would always stop her. She doesn't understand how her best friend can be in love with someone as useless as Killian.

Killian has always been this way; Abigail knew from day one. She tried everything to help Mila see who he truly was; a manipulator, a narcissist, and a monster, but Mila turned a blind eye to everything.

"Abby, please, let go " Mila held her hand softly. After sometime,

"Fine! " The angry woman gave in. She let out the hot breath she has been holding back. With a slight smile on her face, she turned to face Mila.

"Are you sure you wanna have some fun tonight, Mila? Are you ready to get wasted tonight? " She grinned sheepishly.

"Do I have a choice? "

"Then, let's get this party going, yo! Let's go have some fun, baby girl! "

"Party? What party are you talking about? " Mila blinked, not having the slightest clue of what Abigail was talking about.

"You'll find out and when you do, you'll be completely dumbfounded "

And that was exactly what happened. An hour later and the two women were now standing inside a club. Mila, who was once in a simple sundress was now putting on a red, strapless knee-length gown that hug her skin so tight and brought out every damn curve she's been hiding under those loose gowns.

The gown has a big V opening at the back that stopped just right above her ass. All the men around were already feasting their eyes on the flawless beauty standing before them.

Mila was indeed dumbfounded, well except for the fact that she wouldn't stop glaring at Abigail who didn't even give a fuck. Her eyes were busy roaming about, looking for God knows what.

"This is a classic VIP club, Mila, where all filthy rich businessmen and women come to have a good time. And see, I told you this red gown was exactly what you needed. See how all the men here won't stop checking you out. " Abigail spoke in a whisper, snickering in satisfaction.

Well, Abigail wasn't lying. Mila was indeed a very beautiful woman. She has an exceptional type of beauty that any man would go crazy for; her glowing, flawless, creamy skin and slender figure were top-notch. The slight makeup she was putting on made her already perfect face shimmer under the dim light.

"Well, you're all by yourself now, bestie. Make sure to have the best night of your life " Abigail vanished into thin air even before Mila could give a side-eye.

"Where the fuck did she go? "

Mila let out a sigh and headed to the counter. She requested a shot and gulped it down in one go. Her mind quickly went back to everything that has been going wrong in her life and her face turned sour.

What on earth hasn't she done for Killian? So why does he hate her this much?

For some time now, Mila has been suspecting Killian has another woman in his life and that is why he is treating her this way. But she doesn't even dare to bring up the matter for fear that it will only make things worse.

Thinking about all of these, Mila fell into anger and distress. She was angry at herself for being this pathetic. Because despite everything, she still can't leave Killian. She just loves this man so much.

Mila drowned her anger and misery in alcohol and by the time she got to the third bottle, she lost her senses. The drunk woman let out a scream of joy and started swaying her hips to the music buzzing. She didn't even care that all eyes were now on her. She needed to let off all the pain she's been hoarding inside for years. And tonight she was doing just that, thanks to the help of the new best friend she just made; alcohol.

Meanwhile, at one extreme of the club, a mysterious man sat with a shot in his hand, staring intently at the drunk woman who was going crazy on the dance floor, his gaze following her every rhythm.

His deep grey eyes have been fixed on this woman from the moment she stepped foot into this club and haven't dated away from her, till now. There was something about her that has captured his interest.

A bartender was quickly called and instructed sternly;

"You see that woman over there... "

"Bring her to me "

Drunk as fuck, Mila kept rocking her body to the music, her hips swaying seductively to the rhythm.

"Go, girl! show them what you've got! " An already drunk Abigail wasn't helping matters either. All the men who have been watching Mila wanted nothing but to have this little seductress all to themselves. But there was someone else up to the task.

The bartender walked up to the drunk woman and offered her another shot saying;

"This gentleman over there bought this drink for you "

Barely even in her right sense, Mila looked over at the direction the bartender was pointing at. A certain mysterious man's gaze washed over making her scoff.

"And who the fuck is that? I never told him I needed a drink, did I? If he wanted to come to me he should do so directly. Pervert! " She yelled loud enough for the man to hear.

With her head now spinning due to too much dancing, the drunk woman shoved the bartender aside and staggered her way to the restroom. She could barely even see anything. Only heavens know how she was able to find the restroom. But she couldn't even remember why she came to the restroom in the first place.

Splashing some water to her face, she lurched out of the restroom and was about to stagger back to the club when a firm, warm hand grabbed her arm and pinned her to a wall. A slight gasp left her lips when a tall figure towered over her, pressing her slightly against the wall. A strong, masculine scent quickly filled Mila's nose and she went stiff...

"Walking around in a club, drunk as fuck is a really dangerous thing for a woman..."

"Especially one as breathtaking as you are...
