~~Elena~~

The loud vibration of my phone jolted me awake. I stretched my hand toward the nightstand, my eyes still heavy with sleep.

When I saw the caller ID, my heart skipped. Uncle! Panic rushed through me. I shot up in bed, hoping nothing had happened to Grandma.

“Hello, Uncle?”

“You’re still asleep at this hour?” His voice came out almost like a scream.

“It’s Sunday morning,” I muttered under my breath. What else was I supposed to be doing?

“Come to my office,” he ordered, then hung up before I could answer.

I groaned in frustration, letting myself fall back on the bed. My legs dangled off the edge as I stared blankly at the ceiling, my sleep has been stolen .

My uncle leaned back in his chair, his eyes sharp as they studied me.

“So, what happened two nights ago?” he asked coldly.

"Nothing uncle"

“I got a call from Old Rodriguez himself, asking after your wellbeing. You didn’t come home that night. And you said nothing ", with a loud tone

~~Alejandro~~ “I need nothing but you,” she said. My chest tightened. Damn it, Elena. That’s what I wanted to hear. That’s what I’d always wanted. But before anything—before she could truly be mine—I had to settle my score with the Morales. Because of his relationship with my father, and despite knowing what happened between Valentina and Max, my father still insists I marry her—just to preserve their friendship. Even though I was already running the Rodriguez affairs, the old man had always sided with me… except for this. If I didn’t carve out the right plan that involves his friend before ending the engagement, He would end up in a hospital—or worse. I needed to be smart. Ruthless. Patient. I pulled Elena back into my arms, burying my face in her hair for a heartbeat. Her fragrance hit me, citrus, floral, that scent that always makes me lose control. “Do you trust me, Elena?” I asked, my voice low, almost a growl. Her eyes met mine for a second—steady, questioning, but soft

~~Elena~~ “Alejandro…” I whispered, my voice breaking as I fought myself, trying to stop. Grandpa already knew about us. He might have freed me from my uncle’s grip, but he could never stand against his own father. Alejandro’s hand slid around me, and in a swift motion, he turned me to face him. My knees brushed in his sides, and his kiss deepened—hotter, hungrier, more possessive. I pushed against him, desperate to resist, but my body betrayed me. The harder I tried to fight, the more I found myself drowning, lost completely in his touch. I gasped when I felt his hardness press against my inner thigh. My hands clung to his neck, pulling him closer as I shifted, desperate to feel him against the wet ache beneath my pants. His hands roamed down my back, searching for the zipper. His lips never left mine, our tongues tangled in a fierce battle that made my body burn hotter. He slid lower, fingers fumbling—until he realized there was no zip. Instead, he gripped the fabric tight. My

~~Alejandro~~“Sir, Mr. Ramos is the stepson of the woman in the hospital. He uses her life to control Elena,” my assistant said. I leaned back in my chair, flipping through the file with steady fingers. My face stayed hard. “I want to see Javier,” I said, my voice firm. Mateo nodded and left the office. The door closed, and silence filled the room. I rested my arm on the desk, tapping a finger on the wood. My eyes narrowed on the file. Because he is a stepson. Now everything makes sense. Every detail fits. My hand moved to my jaw. To make her mine, I must take his power away. To make her mine, I must free her grandmother first. I stood and walked to the tall glass window. The city lights spread under me—bright, alive. Her birthday is tomorrow. I let out a slow breath. What gift can I give her? Not flowers, not diamonds. Something more. Something that tells her she belongs to me. Suddenly, a knock on the door broke my thoughts. “Come in,” I said, still facing the window. “Mr.

~~Elena~~I shoved Carlos away so hard my own hands trembled.“Don’t… don’t ever do that again,” I said, my voice shaking more than I wanted it to. I didn’t even look back at him as I ran upstairs. My heart was hammering, my throat tight. Why did it feel like I’d been caught cheating? I’m not even his. Alejandro isn’t mine. And yet… my whole body burned with guilt as if he were.“Alejandro…” His name spilled from my lips the moment I came closer to him. It sounded like a prayer and a plea at once. “I didn’t mean to—”I stopped. Why am I explaining myself to him? Why does his opinion feel like life and death?“Come with me, Elena,” he said, his voice low. Not angry. Not loud. Just low, certain, and impossible to disobey.I followed him before I could even think about it.The moment we stepped into his room, the door shut behind us with a soft click. My heart leapt into my throat. He moved forward,I moved back , the air between us shrinking until my back pressed against the cold wall, a

~~Elena~~He didn’t react. Not even a flicker of surprise.“So, you and Valentina can go shopping tomorrow. Mariana, you can join them too,” Grandpa said with finality, as though the matter was sealed.Back in my room, I collapsed onto the bed. Mariana sank beside me.“What should I do, Mariana? I’m scared… and honestly, I feel like I’m suffocating,” I admitted. Her voice was calm. “We can’t delay tomorrow’s plan.”She was right, though fear knotted in my chest....The next day, we visited the old house. The moment we opened the door, dust greeted us like an old friend. Cobwebs dangled in corners.I wrinkled my nose. “This place could use an army, not just two girls with brooms.”Mariana chuckled, and for a moment, the heaviness lifted. We got to work, scrubbing, sweeping, throwing out spoiled food from the fridge, and washing dishes. It took us an hour, but finally the house looked less like a ghost had been living there. Then came the real task. We searched carefully, and at last

~~Elena~~“You’re not allowed to go inside, Miss Elena,” the doctor said, blocking the doorway.“Please, I need to see my grandma,” I insisted.“She’s sleeping,” he added Frustrated, I quickly pulled out my phone and called my uncle.“Yes, Elena? What’s the problem now?” he said as if I was disturbing his peace.“Uncle, tell the doctor to let me in,” I pressed He hung up. A few minutes later, the doctor answered a call—probably from him.“You can go in,” he said at last, then excused himself.Suddenly, Mariana arrived.“What’s wrong?” she asked, noticing me still standing at the door.“Are you done with the test?” I asked instead of answering.“Yes. They told me to come back in a few minutes,” she replied softly.I studied her expression. Something seemed… off.We entered together, and indeed, Grandma was asleep. I dragged a chair and sat beside her, and held her hand. We both sat quietly without saying anything, the only sound in the room was only coming from the steady beeping of
