The early-noon light filtered in soft and golden, kissing the skin Kael couldn’t quite bring himself to cover.

He lay tangled in silken sheets, limbs sore in the most delicious way, his cheek resting on Alaric’s bare chest. The steady thump of the prince’s heart lulled him, the warmth of their shared body heat making the world outside the bed feel like a forgotten dream.

Alaric’s arm was draped over his waist, heavy and possessive, even in sleep.

Kael traced lazy circles over his chest, his fingers trembling just slightly. It had happened. It really happened.

And yet...

“Alaric?” he whispered.

The chest beneath him rose with a deep inhale. “Mm?”

Kael shifted, propping himself up on an elbow. “You broke my bed.”

A lazy, satisfied smirk tugged at Alaric’s lips. “Seriously? Oh, I'm not sorry.”

Kael rolled his eyes, but the blush blooming across his cheeks betrayed him. “I know you are not. I asked you to claim me, like mark me, not leave my ass sore and bed broken.”

Alaric blinked, and t

  • FORBIDDEN BOND: The Alpha's Desire    THE ONES WHO STAYED

Noon sunlight bled gently through the sheer curtains of Aaron’s chamber, the air still quiet with the breath of exhausted sorrow. The palace stirred faintly outside, yet within this room, time moved slower, like the silence that follows a great storm.Kael stirred first. His eyelashes fluttered against his cheeks as he blinked into the soft light. His body ached, not from pain, but from the weight of truth. A truth too massive for one night to carry. He lifted his head from the pillow, muscles sore from stillness, and the first thing he saw was Alaric— kneeling beside the bed, arms crossed atop the mattress, face resting against them, lips parted softly in sleep.Still wearing last night’s regrets. On the couch across the room, Aaron lay in an awkward sprawl, one leg dangling off the edge, his chest rising and falling with shallow breaths. Asleep or so it seemed.Kael’s lips parted, words unspoken lodging in his throat. He didn’t know what to say. Or what to do. Alaric looked so peace

  • FORBIDDEN BOND: The Alpha's Desire    THE ONES WHO REMAIN

The room was dim, quiet but far from calm. The silence wasn't peace— it was pressure. Thick and heavy. Like the world held its breath, waiting to see what would break next.Kael lay on the bed, pale and unmoving, his body curled in on itself like a child seeking the safety of a womb long lost. The damp cloth Aaron had been using to cool his forehead now rested uselessly on the side table. His breaths were shallow. Dreamless or dreaming— no one knew. But his chest rose and fell with an eerie steadiness that made everything feel suspended, like time itself was hesitant to move forward.Alaric knelt beside the bed.His head bowed low, forehead brushing Kael’s hand like a desperate prayer that no god was answering.“He’s mine,” Alaric whispered again, voice hoarse from the hundred times he had said it before. “He’s not my brother. He’s my mate. Mine.”His hands trembled as he gripped Kael’s sheets. Not from drinking. Not just from that. The tumbler he had brought with him, half-full with

  • FORBIDDEN BOND: The Alpha's Desire    SCARED BLOODLINE

Kael slumped against Aaron like a sack of feathers, his breath shallow, his body trembling. Aaron barely caught him before he hit the ground.“The king is my father?” he whispered again, voice cracking under the weight of the revelation. “Alaric’s father is… my father?”And then he blacked out.“Kael—!?” Aaron crouched, catching his limp body fully, cradling him into his arms. His head lolled to the side, his face pale, lips parted as if still forming the question that had broken him.“Damn it,” Aaron cursed under his breath, hauling Kael up over his shoulder. Kael felt light. Too light. Like a broken wing stripped of wind. Aaron didn’t care who stared, he pushed past the stunned murmurs and wide eyes.He carried Kael out of that square. No one stopped him.Because no one could move. The king’s words still rang through the square like a war drum in reverse— silencing everything in their wake. Even the air refused to stir.“He is my son. From Elara. My true mate.”A collective hush hel

  • FORBIDDEN BOND: The Alpha's Desire    HIS ROYAL IDENTITY

There was a dense, suffocating silence in the square. A thick smoke and incense filled the atmosphere from the ceremonial fire which still crackled its stone basin. the people of Veridia were standing all about in close groups and too dazed to say a word, turning their eyes to and fro between the High Seer and the prince and the young man who was just staggering under the burden of the prophecy.Kael shivered and his legs buckled under his body, and his breath came raggedly in the shallowest of gasps. Like a cathedral bell is ringing in his mind are the words of the prophecy. He was aware of all the eyes being upon him, he felt the strain of it bending and curling around his shoulders like a smoke. Thunder was the pounding of his heart.Aaron moved in, put his arm tightly around his elbow. “Breathe,” he said in a very low voice so that Kael was the only one listening. “I've got you.”Kael nodded, holding the bile in his throat. His body yelled at him to run, to hide, but the legs did

Something was coming. Something profound. The chatter died completely, strangled in a collective intake of breath.A line of girls stepped forward from behind the main stage, barefoot and veiled in thin, pearl-white silk, and barefoot. Their long silvery hair, freshening-snow-white, moved in the still-air like streamers. and between their cupped hands, held sacred, were wood bowls smoothly carved of the most exquisite shape, and filled with some delicate, white, frosty-like powder, that glimmers like crushed moonlight. They did not—as you would in the stage--walk to the centre, but to the geometric centre of the square. The crowd slowly parted, without command, without a single shouted word. Backs straightened, shoulders pulled back, people rose, a ripple of quiet reverence moving through the hundreds of spectators. The girls made no sound as they walked, their steps impossibly light. With each graceful, measured step, they sprinkled the shimmering powder in a curving line that spiral

  • FORBIDDEN BOND: The Alpha's Desire    THE PROPHECY

The courtyard shook with the beat of the ancestral heart of Veridia, pulsed with a cacophony of color and magic. Lanterns, as large as captured summer fire-flies, hung in the air, dancing with pale lavender light. Their unsubstantial radiance threw fluctuating, undulating contours on the smooth canvasses of silken canopies stiffly expanse above, changing the great square into a soil of fragmentary shadow and light. The fire dancers, lean and savage, painted circlets of red and orange around the darkening dusk, each downward step a drum upon the ground. With ancient power thrummed the very air itself, with joy, with the very essence of the Wolf-kind.But Alaric was cold. The Crowned Prince sat by the side of the King--a privilege, beyond doubt, a gold-gilded prison--and followed the merriment with an air of enforced restraint. His chair, carved out of heavy stone, and with carved stone armrests, had been cold where his fingers touched it, as though his blood were cold itself. He hadn't
