FAZER LOGINLucille’s POVBenjamin returned to the hospital minutes later. “What’s going on?” he asked the doctor who joined us.“We noticed a mass in her heart. We hadn’t spotted any internal bleeding before now but we had to be sure which is one of the reasons we kept her here for observation but her vitals kept dropping and so we had to run another test and we found a mass caused by blood clots,” the doctor explained.“So what are we to do now?”“We will run more tests and immediately get her in for surgery,” the doctor said.“And you are sure she’ll be fine?”“Yes, it has a very high success rate. She’ll be fine,” the doctor said.“Could it be delayed just a little?” I asked.“I’m not sure how long your body can hold on with such clot,” the doctor said.“Thank you doctor. We’ll talk to you later,” Benjamin said. The doctor left us alone as Benjamin took my hand.
Lucille’s POVI held the sink as I threw up my lunch. I stared at my reflection in the mirror and my heart skipped a beat. I looked dead. My eyes were sunken, dark circles around them. I was pale, like any moment I could drop.My head spun and I gagged once more, throwing up some more. I splashed some water on my face before stepping out of the bathroom. “Honey,” Benjamin took my hand, helping me to the bed.He fluffed the pillow before guiding me down. I felt tired. I couldn’t look at him. Katherine’s words but the real truth was something I had ignored for so long. Could I really be with him again? He tried to kill me. He cheated on me and worse, it felt as though his efforts were not just working. At the moment, yes but not in the long run. He was trying to make it all better, his efforts told me that. The doctor checked on me and the nurse administered my injections which were more than it usually was. I laid
Lucille’s POVMy heart dropped but I recovered quickly. I kept my gaze steady on Katherine. She stepped away, laughing. “You knew,” she said. “You fucking knew.”She kept on laughing. “And here I thought you were some saint. You wouldn’t want something tainted but I guess that doesn’t involve your cheating husband. What would the front news look like?”She thought for a second. “‘The famous lawyer —no — the queen of the courtroom who is all about the good thing actually picks up trash’ yes, I like that one,” she laughed again.I was seething inside but could only listen. “Oh don’t look at me like that. You know what you are,” she said.“And you know what you are,” I clapped back. She laughed then leaned in. “Oh, yes. I do. I am the one who fucked your husband so bad he forgot to come home.”I slapped her. Hard. Her face whipped to the side. She brought her hand to the spot. She looked s
Lucille’s POV“Pick one.”I chuckled, shaking my head. “No, you’re going to trick me again,” I told him.“No tricks this time,” Benjamin said with a michievious smile. He brought his folded arms forward, moving them back and forth, urging me to pick. “Fine,” I stared at both of them a while before tapping his left. “This one.”“Final answer?”“The right hand looks tempting,” I searched his face. “Yes, final answer.”“Okay,” he shrugged opening his left hand.He laughed as my shoulders fell. “Again?”He opened his other hand and it was also not there. “Where is it?”He took it out of his pocket. “Trickster,” I said as we both laughed. “Where did you learn to do that?”“Youtube. After a long twelve hours of torture, they explained the trick in the last minute,” he said, laughing.“Well, that was fun,” I said.

Benjamin stepped in front of him. “This is my wife. You do not walk in here without my permission. Get out,” he gesutured for the door.King tried to walk past him but Benjamin kept his hand out. “Ben,” I called.“Yes, honey,” he replied with his eyes glued to King.“Let me speak with him,” I said.“I don’t trust him, honey. Just let me talk to him alone,” I said.He snapped his head around. “You’re going to stay alone with him?” he asked.“I’ll be fine. And I have the call button,” I said, grabbing the little remote on the bedside table. He took my hand. “Are you sure?
Lucille’s POVMy head hurts.I felt tired. I shook my head, trying to come to. Then I smelt it —fire, smoke. I sluggishly opened my eyes. My vision was still unclear. I coughed, the smoke sipping into my lungs.I darted my eyes around. The smoke had engulfed the space. I tried to move but couldn’t. I was tied up. Strapped on a pillar. The fire only increased. “Help!” I screamed.I coughed, the air unbearable. “Help me!” I screamed once more.I choked once I tried again. I couldn’t breathe and still felt tired. My eyelids felt tired. My body felt foreign. “They drugged me,” I thought to myself. It hasn’t worn off. They were trying to kill me!I panicked, stuggling with the ropes that kept me bound to the pillar.
