Chapter 11: Lillian

"Mom, how long are we going to stay at Connie's?  We have to go to school tomorrow."  Jon asks after we get to Connie’s, and we are all sitting in the living room. 

Kelly is texting on her phone and Jon is playing Connie's gaming system, while I sit there with Connie and talk about what must be done next.  Hearing my phone ringing, I pick it up and realize that it is from my attorney.  Picking it up, I answer, "Hello. What have you heard?"

Sounding disappointed, he says, "When he got out, someone beat him up and dropped him off at the hospital front entrance.  Did you have anything to do with it?"

Shocked, I answer sharply, "No, I wouldn't ever.  You know that I didn't have anything to do with this.  I couldn't.  I may disagree with him, but I don't wish him dead."
