Chapter 52: Jordan

Not knowing what to do next, we wait at home for the officer in charge to contact us.  I watch Lillian pace around the living room before stating, “We have to do something.” Her eyes wild with worry and her lips still pouting.

With her hands tightly wrapped around her waist, she stands there staring at me as if I can do anything about all of this.  Can I?  The police have my phone, so now it is just a big waiting game.  That is unless the kidnappers call Lillian and demand a ransom or something.

As I run my fingers through my knotted hair, I begin to wonder if we will ever see Jon again.  When I glance over at Lillian, I see tears forming in her eyes and know that if I don’t comfort her now, she may never forgive me later.  So, I stand up and walk over to where she is standing, before wrapping my arms around her and leaning down to kiss her warm lips softly.

However, this doesn’t stop the tears from falling.&
