DANIEL POV

I sat in the car with my Dad, barely aware of where we were. I haven't been able to concentrate, I couldn't reach Maya anymore and the hope of meeting Lisa was gone. Grumpy couldn't define my attitude, I'm pissed more than pissed and now my Dad is dragging me to his long lost friends party who decided to return to Rome, like I fucking care.

He wants me to mingle, can he even hear himself? I will soon be a father but not be a part of my child's life and he wants me to mingle? I just don't know what to say to him. I feel a tap on my hands and turned to see Dad was trying to get my attention,

“Did you hear anything I said?” he asked with a furrowed brow.

Exhaling, I adjusted on the car seat, “No,” looking outside the window.

“Well I said a lot of girls will be there……” After a short pause he said, “you know I'm just trying to help and it's fine if you don't want anyone else, I too understand what it means to be in love….. just please try to smile, okay?” I sighed but nodded.
