Aiden’s POV*

Hearing her call my name completely erased whatever restraint I had left.

I lose control of myself and keep thrusting in and out of her.

I knew we were crossing a line we could never uncross, but seeing her completely caught up in the moment with me made it impossible to pull back. The ambient noise of the room faded into the background, replaced only by the erratic sound of our breathing and the sound of flesh hitting each other .

We were entirely consumed by the rush of the risks we were taking, pushing the limits until the tension finally broke.

"Aiden I'm so close, don't stop please."

And with one last thrust we both cum holding and moaning each other's name

I collapsed forward, completely exhausted, and too weak to get up.

Then, the heavy sound of the door swinging open cut through the silence like ice.

"What the fuck is going on here?"

The door hung open behind him, and for one unbearable second nobody moved. I felt Lily go rigid beside me, and some useless part of my brain still reached for her before I caught myself and pulled back instead, too late, always too late.

It wasn't anger on my father's face. That I could have handled. It was disappointment, raw and unguarded, the kind that carves itself into a man's expression and stays there — like watching someone realize, in real time, that the son he thought he knew had never really existed.

She was supposed to be my stepsister. Just my stepsister. Nothing more, nothing complicated, nothing that could break a family apart from the inside.

But she wasn't just that anymore. She hadn't been just that for a long time, if I was honest with myself, and now my father had the proof of it written all over his face — and there was no version of what came next that didn't cost us everything.

LILY'S POV

The car pulled into the driveway, and my stomach twisted itself into something tight and unfamiliar. I had spent the entire two-hour drive staring out the window, memorizing the disappearing shape of the only house I'd ever called mine, as if committing it to memory could somehow keep it from vanishing completely.

"We're here," my mother said, her voice bright in a way that felt forced, like she was trying to convince herself as much as me.

I said nothing. What was there to say? Three weeks ago she'd stood in a courthouse in a cream-colored dress and married a man I'd met exactly four times. Now I was supposed to call his house home.

The front door opened before we even reached it, and Richard stepped out, all easy smiles and open arms. He wrapped my mother in a hug like he'd been waiting all day just for that moment, pressing a kiss to her lips that made me look away, suddenly very interested in the gravel beneath my shoes.

"Welcome home," he said.

Home. The word sat strange in my chest, foreign and unearned. This wasn't my home. It was his house, his kitchen, his staircase, his life — and now, apparently, mine too, whether I liked it or not.

"Thank you," I managed, because that's what you say when you don't know what else to do with your hands or your face.

My mother squeezed my shoulder, a small, apologetic gesture, like she knew exactly how hollow this all felt and had no way to fix it.

Richard turned toward the staircase, and something in his posture shifted — pride, maybe, or hope. "There's someone I want you to meet properly," he said. Then, louder, calling up toward the second floor: "Aiden! Come say hello to your sister."

Sister. The word landed wrong, too, though I couldn't have told you why yet.

I heard him before I saw him — footsteps first, unhurried, almost lazy, like whoever they belonged to had never once in his life felt rushed by anything. Then he appeared in the kitchen doorway, and every thought I'd been holding onto scattered.

He had no shirt on. That was the first thing I noticed, and immediately hated myself for noticing. Broad shoulders, skin still damp like he'd just come from a shower, a towel slung carelessly around his neck. His hair was long enough to curl slightly at his jaw, dark and messy in a way that looked effortless because it probably was. And then his eyes lifted to mine — a green so deep and clear it looked like something out of a forest at dusk, not something that should have belonged to a real person standing in a kitchen doorway.

He didn't smile. He just looked at me, unhurried, the way he seemed to do everything, like he had all the time in the world to decide what he thought of me.

"This is Lily," Richard said, gesturing between us with the kind of enthusiasm that made the moment feel even more unbearable. "Lily, this is Aiden — my son."

My son. Not your brother. I noticed the distinction even if Richard hadn't meant anything by it.

"Hey," Aiden said finally. His voice was low, unbothered, like this whole introduction was an inconvenience he was tolerating rather than an occasion.

"Hi," I said back, and hated how small my voice sounded.

For a moment neither of us moved. My mother and Richard were already drifting toward the living room, caught up in their own quiet happiness, oblivious to whatever current had just passed between their children. Aiden's gaze held mine a beat too long — long enough that I felt heat rise in my face, long enough that I had to look away first.

"Welcome to the family," he said, and there was something in his tone I couldn't quite place. Not warmth, exactly. Not hostility either. Something sharper. Something that made my pulse stutter in a way I refused to examine.

Then he turned and walked back up the stairs, leaving me standing in the entryway of a house that wasn't mine, next to a family that wasn't mine, with my heart doing something it absolutely had no business doing.

I didn't know it yet, but that was

the moment everything started to go wrong.

  • FORBIDDEN LOVE     Chapter Eight

**LILY'S POV**Samantha's name lit up my phone for the fourth time that morning, and for the fourth time, I let it ring out.I sat on the edge of my bed with my suitcase half-packed around me, staring at the screen until it went dark again, guilt curling low and persistent in my stomach. She'd want details. She'd want the whole story, delivered with her usual gleeful, relentless curiosity, and there was no version of that conversation where I could tell her the truth without saying his name.*I danced with a stranger who turned out to be my stepbrother, then I told him to sleep with me, and now I can't stop thinking about it* was not a text I knew how to send.I typed *call you later, packing for the trip!* instead, added an exclamation point I didn't feel, and hit send before I could think better of it.It wasn't a lie, technically. It just wasn't the truth either.---The drive to Cedar Point took four hours, and I spent every single one of them acutely aware of exactly how much spa

  • FORBIDDEN LOVE    Chapter Seven

**LILY'S POV**I woke up to grey light coming through an uncurtained window and a headache that felt entirely earned. For a few seconds I didn't remember where I was. Then I felt the weight of an arm draped loosely over my waist, warm and heavy and unmistakably not mine, and everything came back in one nauseating rush.I lay very still, staring at the unfamiliar ceiling, doing the math on exactly how much of last night had actually happened and coming up with an answer my stomach did not appreciate.Aiden was asleep beside me, face slack in a way I'd never seen on him before, all that careful control gone soft and unguarded. In another version of this morning, in another life entirely, I might have found that beautiful. Instead it just made the panic worse, because some small, traitorous part of me did find it beautiful, even now, even with everything it meant.I eased his arm off me an inch at a time, holding my breath every time he stirred, and slid out from under the sheet like I w

  • FORBIDDEN LOVE    Chapter six

**LILY'S POV**Neither of us moved. That was the problem. The lights kept sweeping color across his face — red, blue, violet, red again — and every time they lit him up I felt something in my chest lurch a little harder, like my body hadn't caught up yet to the fact that I should be angry, or embarrassed, or anything other than exactly what I was, which was still leaning slightly toward him like the last thirty seconds hadn't happened at all.My phone buzzed against my hip, and it took me two tries to make my hand cooperate enough to check it.**Samantha:** ran into Jake from my psych class!! leaving with him don't wait up 🙈 text me tmrwI stared at the screen a second too long, the letters swimming slightly, and felt a strange, dangerous kind of freedom open up underneath the panic. No one was waiting for me. No one would notice how long I stayed, or who I stayed with.I looked back up at Aiden, and he was still watching me, jaw tight, like he was bracing for whatever I said next."

  • FORBIDDEN LOVE    Chapter five

Chapter FiveI'd told Tony I'd stay for one drink. That had been an hour ago, and I was still there, leaning against a wall that smelled like spilled beer and somebody's expensive cologne, half-listening to a story about a poker game I didn't care about, when I saw her.Lily.Across a room full of strangers, in a green dress that did something to my brain I wasn't proud of, hair falling loose over one shoulder, laughing at something Samantha said with her head tipped back like she didn't have a single worry in the world. She looked like she belonged in a completely different kind of story than the one I'd been telling myself about her for two weeks. She looked like a goddess who'd wandered into the wrong crowd by mistake.I hated it immediately. Not her — never her. I hated the way every guy within twenty feet turned to track her across the room the second she moved, the way some kid by the kitchen elbowed his friend and nodded in her direction, the way I felt something ugly and posse

  • FORBIDDEN LOVE    Chapter four

    # Chapter FourTwo weeks had passed since the party, and I'd turned avoiding Aiden into something close to an art form."Morning," I'd say, already moving past the kitchen doorway before he could answer, my eyes fixed somewhere over his shoulder like the fridge behind him had suddenly become fascinating."Goodnight," I'd call down the hallway, not slowing my pace enough to catch whatever he said back.It wasn't that I hated him. It was that every time I let myself actually look at him, I saw the exact shape of his back in that lamplight, and my whole chest did something humiliating and involuntary, and I refused — absolutely refused — to let it happen in front of him.So I got good at the sideways glance instead. A flick of my eyes toward him while he was reading something on his phone at breakfast, gone before he could catch it. A look at his hands while he loaded the dishwasher, because apparently even that was something I found worth cataloguing now. I told myself it was just curio

  • FORBIDDEN LOVE    Chapter three

Richard tapped a fork against his champagne glass, and the sound cut through the chatter like a small, polite alarm. Conversations trailed off, heads turning toward him, and I felt my mother's hand find mine and squeeze."If I could have everyone's attention for just a moment," Richard said, raising his glass, his easy smile settling into something more solemn. "I promise I'll keep you from your wine only briefly."A ripple of laughter moved through the terrace. I stood beside my mother, doing my best impression of someone who wasn't wishing the ground would open beneath her."Most of you know that three weeks ago, I married the most extraordinary woman I've ever met." He looked at my mother like she was the only person standing there, and I watched her cheeks go pink. "What some of you don't know is that Sarah came with a bonus I didn't deserve and definitely didn't earn."He turned to me."This is Lily. My daughter, as of three weeks ago, though I like to think she's been mine a lit
