SIERRA
“Alessandro Montrego wants a bride,” My father started. “Now that your sister’s gone… it has to be you.” I confusedly stared at them, too stunned to speak. Did I hear him wrong? “You can’t be serious,” I whispered in disbelief. “You want me to marry a mafia lord instead of Airra who ran away? Because of what? Because of your debts?” My mother sternly looked at me. “It’s the only way, Sierra. We owe him everything. If we don’t pay, we lose the house, the business, everything we have right now.” I stood up abruptly. My heart was racing, my hands clenched, and the fact that I’m their payment for their debts was making me crazy. “So sell me off instead? Is that it? I’m just… collateral now?” “You’re being dramatic,” My father gritted his teeth. “No, I’m being sane!” I snapped. “You raised us to be strong, to think for ourselves, and now you want me to throw my life away for a man who deals in blood and bullets?” “Airra was always the selfish one. She left us to rot and now you want to follow her example? After everything we’ve done for you?!” Her words hit like a slap. Wow! Did I ask them to give birth to me and be a responsible parent? “You think guilt will make this right?” “You think we wanted this?” Her face twisted in fury. “We’re drowning, and you’re standing on the shore watching us sink, Sierra. We were left with no choice.” Seriously? No choice? They have a choice to pay back the debt with money! Not with their own daughter! I held my chest tightly as I couldn't breathe. I wanted to scream, to run, and to tear the room apart in madness. Two people standing in front of me with rage burning in their eyes made my stomach twist. They were supposed to protect me, but all I saw now were strangers with desperation in their eyes. “I’m not Airra,” I uttered with my trembling voice. “But I’m not yours to barter either.” I run to my room with tears running down my face. I slammed myself on the bed, crying silently at the fact that I'm a daughter trapped by the cruel twist of fate that made me the twin who stayed. Is this my fate? ***** My phone vibrates under my pillow. I immediately opened my eyes, carefully got out of my bed, and pulled the backpack hiding under my bed. I need to leave this place. I am desperate to leave this place. A place called home. Or else, I will regret everything. I already knew the safe route to the backyard without being seen by the CCTV. When I finally got out of the house, I let out a sigh of relief and hopped into the cab I had called an hour ago, which was parked two blocks away from home. As the car was getting away from the mansion, my hands tightened at the strap of my bag, stopping myself from looking back. I should not feel sorry for them. I should feel sorry for myself. Yeah, this f*cking arrangement was bullshit and I want to run away too. Away from my parents and the man whose name made my skin crawl. Alessandro Montrego. Suddenly, the car stopped. My pulse thrummed. “Why did you stop? Is there something wrong?” “Wait here.” The driver got out and checked what was wrong with his car. He came back after a second with apologetic eyes. “I’m sorry, miss, but the battery is dead. I can't drive you to the airport.” My eyes widened in disbelief. F*ck! Why does it have to be now? That name, Alessandro Montrego, was cursed! I don't have any choice but to get out of the car. I felt goosebumps seeing the road in silence. I checked my phone, wondering if I could call another cab at this hour, but it was useless. There was no signal. What should I do? Walk, Sierra. I have no choice but to walk. It's okay. I'm okay. I know it’s scary, but I will arrive at the airport safely. All of a sudden, I felt a presence behind me that I think was following my tracks. I secretly glanced over my shoulder and saw a tall and muscular man wearing a leather jacket. His hands were in his pants pockets, and he was walking slowly as if matching my pace. Panicked, I walked faster than I did earlier. He's not following me, right? It's a coincidence, right? Please make me believe that it's just a coincidence, he was heading the same way, and I'm only being paranoid! But my instinct was screaming differently. I turned down the side street, hoping to lose him, but he still followed me. I bit my lower lip as I crossed the other side this time, but I still could feel his presence behind me. I stopped walking and I tightly shut my eyes when he stopped too. Shit! I panicked and ducked into a narrow alley. I pressed myself against the wall and tried to disappear into the shadows. Should I scream? Run? Call someone? But there's no signal!! “Need help, young lady?” A low, resonant baritone that cut through the silence startled my soul. Instinctively, I swung my bag at him, but he caught the bag before it hit him. “I'm not young! I'm twenty-three! HELP!” I screamed at the top of my lungs. “Still young.” I turned to him with a death glare. But my world stopped for some reason. Oh, dear Lord! Why did you give me a hottie stalker?SIERRAThe sun was far too bright for the mood I was in. I woke up tangled in the silk sheets of Alessandro’s bed. His arm is a heavy, possessive weight across my waist even in sleep. I carefully dislodged myself as my body ached with the reminders of the… whatever. But before I completely took off his arm, he pulled me closer to his half-naked body. As soon as his hot breath touched my right face, I flinched a little.“Where?” he mumbled against my ear.“Am I going?” He kissed my ear before humming. “Breakfast, Alessandro. Get off me.”“Let me have my breakfast first.”I rolled my eyes. “Okay, so get up and let's head down–”Before I could finish my words, he swallowed my next breath in his mouth. He grabbed the back of my neck, parted my lips with his, and slipped his tongue inside. My heart raced. My blood burned.I didn't know what I was doing, but I couldn't stop him.Lust exploded behind my eyes, blurring my vision. He pressed me even more to him, wrapping me with his arms tight
SIERRAThe smell of gunpowder and expensive cologne is a sickeningly sweet mix in the back of the limousine. I leaned my head against the cool leather as my heart was still hammering inside my chest because of the man sitting inches away from me."You're quiet," Alessandro rasped.I’m thinking about not using protection, Alessandro. What if I got pregnant? I can't remember it exploding inside me. Did it? I couldn't freaking remember, and I'm too embarrassed to ask him as well.“Cara mia?” He called."I’m trying to process the fact that our window has a spiderweb of bullet holes in it," I instead said, gesturing to the reinforced glass. “Does your wound still hurt?”I shook my head and looked out the window, biting my lower lip in frustration. I’m really worried about getting pregnant. Why do I always give in to his touch? This is not me. Alessandro and this mafia world changed me.By the time the limo pulled up to the front steps of the mansion, we had smoothed our clothes and wip
SIERRAHe groaned at my tightness as I gasped at his size. One of his hands slipped out from mine to trace my landing strip until he found my clit. He rubbed it in a circular motion, and then his mouth found my breasts again, licking and sucking. I moaned, every touch feeding the hot buzz in my core, until, slowly, I slid down, taking him all the way inside me."F*ck," he gritted, looking down at where we were connected. He gripped my hips, tight enough to bruise, as tension radiated from him and every muscle in his body pulled taut. "F*ck, you're still tight, my love."The feeling of him inside me was so intense that my body trembled. The backs of my eyes burned, and I pressed my face into his neck. His heartbeat raced against mine.He was shaking."F*ck me, cara mia." He sounded on the brink of control, as if I didn't start moving, then I was going to get f*cked, hard. That quickly set me in motion, and I didn't think I could handle him unleashed yet.I moved slowly, rocking my hi
SIERRAI gasped but swallowed it as the heat of his body met my back. He pulled my hair to one side and pressed his face into my neck. A shudder erupted beneath my skin, warm from his soft touch and cold from the volatile energy emanating from him."I thought you didn't want it, Sierra."Oh.I was. I wanted to say, but the press of his lips against the hollow of my ear stole my breath and voice. All I could do was shake my head because I couldn't bear to let this end, not yet."Say it."I shook my head again, but my mouth betrayed me. "I want it.""You want what?" he murmured, tracing the edge of my ear with his tongue.Goosebumps ran down my arms."I want you," I breathed. I'd always known it wouldn't be that easy.A growl of satisfaction against the nape of my neck, and then a little nip from him. "Back seat."I listened to the command without a single thought. His gaze on me filled with heat when his attention dropped down my body. My dress was still pulled up indecently, baring
SIERRAAn explosion of fire burst inside me, spreading from my stomach to the top of my fingers. When he nipped at my bottom lip and then licked it, soothing the sharp sting with his tongue, ‘want’ filled my veins with boiling water. A moan traveled up my throat. My fingers curled, and I scraped my nails down his stomach, stopping at his belt buckle. He hissed against my lips and then slid his tongue inside my mouth. I immediately felt that wet glide between my legs. Just the knowledge that his hands were on me sent a tremble through me, but the feel of them, the palm sliding over my hip to the curve of my ass, the gentle yet unyielding grasp on my nape incinerated any of the resistance left in me. I swayed toward him as my body melted against his.His lips left mine after I'd only had a single taste of him, and protest flooded my veins. I suddenly wondered if he kissed Alessia this way, but the thought was only fleeting as he moved a hand into my hair, grabbing a fistful and tilting
SIERRAThe silence in the car hadn't been peaceful like earlier. Alessandro gripped the steering wheel while pushing the speedometer higher and higher until the world outside the tinted windows was nothing but a blurred smear of city lights and shadows."You don't get to look at him like that!" Alessandro roared, his voice echoing in the cramped space of the sports car. "You don't get the right to control who I was looking at, Alessandro!" I screamed back in fury. “I do! I am your husband and you are my wife for Christ!”“By paper only! Don't act as if we are real!”"THE F*CK?!” He abruptly stopped the car and turned to me furiously. “YOU THINK WE ARE NOT REAL? ARE WE NOT REAL, SIERRA?”I froze. He thinks… we're real? For real?I swallowed the lump in my throat, seeing his jaw clenched and his eyes flashing with a fire.I opened my mouth to deliver another crushing retort, but the words never came because of a sudden, sharp, deafening pop that shattered the passenger-side mirror
