Chapter 5

While we drive the forty minutes to the high school campus both Colton and I pull out our schedules we have five classes today and have two together. I don’t mind though because the other three classes I have with either Delilah, Alvin, Marisha or Karla. Makes me feel better knowing I have someone with me for my first day the F5 group chat has been blowing up since Colton let it slip we were starting today I did say we should have just surprised them. The F5 group chat is four other fraction alliances the shifters making the 5th fraction so F5 meaning fraction 5. We only have our age group in the F5 chat although we do have a group chat with all 17 of us heirs in it should we need to make contact between all of us that is a pretty dead chat but the F5 is always thriving apart from Destin and Karla who actively do not take part in the chat unless necessary.

The group chats keeping me and Colton occupied and before we know it we have arrived. The building is a giant 1800s style castle it’s all black with climbing vines from the base to midsection. The pathways are all cobblestone and the lights around the castle have an old elegance to them pre electricity design. I’m lost for words the building it’s self looks as though it possesses magic. Being home to all supernatural beings I would not be surprised if it was enchanted. I’m still gawking at the building when I hear a scream I look towards the sound when I see Marisha sprinting our way she barrels into me and pulls me into a hug as though I hadn’t seen her three weeks ago and see her on a monthly basis. Alvin gives Colton a slap on the shoulder and a nod as he too walks past him to give me a hug after Marisha has finally pried herself off me. Delilah just stand behind Alvin and gives me a nod. Maybe it’s a fae / elf thing I think to myself. Marisha throws herself onto Colton who has his hands by his sides looking very uncomfortable in the embrace while he mouths “help me” while looking at me I can’t help but laugh. Destin the cool kid is just leaning on the car watching all of this unfold while he just “sup” everybody as his formal greeting which makes me giggle typical Destin. All of a sudden I have that feeling in the bottom of my stomach that same feeling of someone watching me. The twins can almost sense the change in me as Colton loops his arm through mine and Destin pushes off the car and comes up the other side of me and takes my hand in his we start walking as Destin walks effortlessly with such confidence he gives my had a little squeeze and looks at me “come on princess let’s do this” being between the boys the feeling dies down and I gain more confidence in myself.

The twins and my locker are beside each other thankfully we all dump our books into our lockers. We don’t have the same first class but we all have at least one of the F5 with us so we break away and head to where we need to be. My first class is potions herbal medicines and with Delilah being a witch and the next high priestess I feel a little more confident going into class. We sit down on a desk together I pull my book out only to realise I have bought the wrong book into class I explain my situation to Delilah and take off back to my locker by myself to retrieve the book needed. I’m jogging to my locker when I round the corner with my locker in sight I stop dead in my tracks at the sight before me. None other than chase is leaning against my locker with a smug look on his face holding my herbalist book in hand. I march up to him and snatch my book out of his hands. He just grins at my temper with him before he leans into my ear and whispers his warm breath fanning my ear and neck “welcome to mystic moon high princess” and walks off in the opposite direction to my class. I turn to face my locker and rest my head against it great just great chase also attends this school. I pull myself together and sprint back to class before I am any more late then needs to be. I slip past the teacher and into my chair next to Delilah thankfully class had not started yet.

First class was a breeze with my extra knowledge and education growing up it was not too complicated and am thankful for the extra work my father required of me and the twins. I part with Delilah drop my books off to my locker and head to my second class I have with Karla who surprisingly is waiting at my locker for me . We head to elite defence class together I was surprised they had all supernaturals train together Karla explained that while it’s not a walk in the park the elite defence class was nothing in comparison

to how we have trained since knee high. We warm up as a group then break away into groups to practise karla and I are sparing and we are both so emerged in our sparing we had not noticed everyone else had stopped to watch the match. It was a long match and karla is by far more suited than most to my skill level but in the end I get the upper hand and take the win. The whole crowd gasps when I win. I put my hand out to karla to help up off the mat she does so with a big grin on her face “nearly had you there for a second faith” I smile “sure did you are improving greatly” I reply I’m now conscious of the whispering and all eyes focused on us in the room. We get back to our stances when a 6foot sheer brute pushes past everyone I can tell his of alpha blood his muscles look as though they have muscles of their own and all round built like a brick house. He starts yelling “beginners luck. I Lucas of howlers pack challenge you” while his build is intimidating I know I can take him down without effort. “ I gladly accept”
