Sarra’s POV

Ethan scoffed and eyed his brother in law. “You think this act fools anyone? You and your games? I know this is all PR.”

I didn’t even think about it. Maybe it was adrenaline, maybe I was done being cornered, but I stepped closer to Ronan, slid a hand up his chest, and kissed him.

Right there.

For a moment, Ronan froze in surprise, then his hand came up to my waist and he kissed me back. Ethan looked like he wanted to punch something…or Ronan.

I broke the kiss first, and my heart was racing. Ronan’s eyes searched mine, as if he wasn’t sure what had just happened.

“Let’s go,” I said quietly.

He nodded once and took my hand. We walked past Ethan without another word. I could feel his anger behind us like heat.

Back in the ballroom, the noise hit me all at once again, the music, the laughter, and the glasses clinking.

Ronan leaned in. “You okay?”

“Define okay,” I muttered, trying to steady my breathing.

He squeezed my hand once before letting go. “You didn’t have to do that

  • Fake Dating the Hollywood Billionaire    Chapter 53: The Morning After

Ronan's POVI woke up with a crick in my neck and someone staring at me.Sarra stood in the kitchen doorway, coffee mug in both hands, watching me like I was a stray dog that had wandered into her apartment."You're still here," she said flatly.I sat up, rubbing my neck. Her couch was about two feet too short and had a spring that had tried to murder me around three a.m. "Good morning to you too.""Ronan, I told you to leave.""No, you told me you needed space. I gave you space." I gestured at the three feet between the couch and her bedroom door. "Plenty of space."She stared at me. "That's not what I meant.""I know." I stood up, wincing as my back protested. "But you also didn't lock the door behind me. I took that as an invitation.""That's called breaking and entering.""That's called being optimistic." I walked toward her kitchen. "Coffee?""Are you serious right now?""Very." I opened cabinets until I found a mug. "You only have one?""I live alone.""Depressing." I poured mys

  • Fake Dating the Hollywood Billionaire    Chapter 52

Sarra's POVMy apartment felt smaller than I remembered.I sat on the couch in the dark, phone face-down on the cushion beside me. It had been buzzing nonstop for the past three hours. Texts, calls, notifications—all of them saying the same thing in different ways.*Homewrecker…you're disgusting…Clara deserves better than a friend like you.I'd made the mistake of opening social media once. Just once. The comments were everywhere—under the article, under old photos of me and Clara, under pictures from Ronan's premiere. People I'd never met, saying things that made my stomach turn.Someone had found my Instagram and filled my DMs with threats. Another person dug up my college photos and started a thread about how I'd "always been desperate for attention."I'd turned off my phone after that. Now I sat in the silence, watching headlights pass across my living room wall. My stomach growled, but I couldn't remember the last time I'd eaten. Breakfast in Mexico, maybe? That felt like a lifet

Ronan's POVThe drive back felt different.Sarra sat in the passenger seat with her knees pulled up, staring out the window at the passing landscape. She'd been quiet since we packed up that morning, barely touching the coffee I'd made."You okay?" I asked for the third time."Yeah." She didn't look at me. "Just thinking.""About what?""Everything." She wrapped her arms around her knees. "Tomorrow we're back to normal life. Press, cameras, all of it."I reached over and squeezed her hand. "We'll handle it."She nodded but didn't say anything else.I kept glancing at her as I drove, trying to read her expression. The closer we got to LA, the more she seemed to withdraw into herself. By the time we hit the city limits, she'd put her sunglasses on even though the sun was behind clouds."Sarra—""I'm fine," she said quickly. "Really."But she wasn't. I could tell. When we turned onto my street, I saw them immediately. At least twenty photographers clustered around the entrance to my buil

Sarra's POVI woke up alone again, but this time I heard music. Not good music. Terrible music. Someone was absolutely butchering what sounded like a classic rock song, hitting every note with confidence and zero accuracy.I sat up, rubbing my eyes. The sound was coming from outside.I followed it to the outdoor shower, where steam rose into the late afternoon air. Through the frosted glass panels, I could see Ronan's silhouette, completely oblivious to how badly he was singing."You really should stick to acting," I called out.The singing stopped. "How long have you been standing there?""Long enough to know you can't carry a tune."The shower door opened, and he stuck his head out, hair dripping. "I happen to have excellent pitch.""No, you really don't."He grinned. "Come here and say that.""I'm not falling for that.""Falling for what?" He opened the door wider, revealing way too much of his naked, wet body. "I'm just taking a shower.""Fully aware of that." I crossed my arms, t

Ronan's POVI woke up to the smell of salt air and coffee.Sarra wasn't in bed. I sat up, squinting at the bright sunlight streaming through the open terrace doors. The sheets beside me were cool, which meant she'd been up for a while.I found her on the terrace, sitting cross-legged on a lounge chair with a mug in her hands. She wore one of my T-shirts and nothing else, her hair messy from sleep and ocean wind."Morning," I said, leaning against the doorframe. She looked up and smiled. "Morning. I made coffee.""I can see that." I walked over and kissed the top of her head. "How long have you been up?""An hour maybe? I couldn't sleep." She gestured at the ocean. "It's too beautiful out here."I sat down beside her, stealing her mug for a sip. "What's the plan today?""I don't know. What do people do in paradise?""Absolutely nothing," I said. "That's the point."She laughed. "That sounds perfect, actually."We sat there for a while, passing the coffee back and forth. The ocean was c

Sarra's POVThe beach house was unreal.I stood in the open living room, staring at floor-to-ceiling windows that framed the ocean like a painting. Everything was white stone and bleached wood, minimalist but warm."You okay?" Ronan asked, setting our bags down."This is insane," I said, walking toward the windows. "You said beach house….this is a palace."He laughed, coming up behind me. "My dad likes to go big.""Clearly." I let my eyes take it all in.Through the glass, I could see an infinity pool that seemed to blend right into the ocean. Beyond that, white sand stretched in both directions, completely empty. No other houses, no people, nothing but water and sky."Come on," he said, taking my hand. "I'll give you the tour."He led me through the house, pointing out the gourmet kitchen we'd never use, the media room with a screen bigger than my bedroom, the outdoor shower surrounded by tropical plants."And this," he said, opening double doors, "is the master bedroom."I stepped i
