Lila’s POV

My eyes were fixed on my phone, and my heart sank for what felt like the hundredth time that morning as I opened the conversation again, staring at the messages I had sent Cole last night.

Cole, please answer my call.

I'm sorry about what I said in the car.

Can we please talk?

There were more messages beneath them, but none had received a response. I had even called him several times, too, only for each call to go unanswered.

My phone screen dimmed, and I quickly locked it before sli

  • Fake Dating the arrogant hockey Captain    An unexpected encounter

Lila’s POVI struggled, twisting my body and clawing at the fingers pressed against my face. The figure behind me dragged me backward, but I drove my heel down hard on his foot.A sharp cry broke the silence. His grip loosened, and I tore myself free. Stumbling backward, I caught sight of a flower vase on a narrow table. I grabbed it and swung with all my strength. The figure ducked as the vase smashed against the wall beside his head.“Lila! Stop! It’s me, Cole!”For one disbelieving second, I could only stare at him as he stood a few steps away, holding his injured foot. His eyes moved from the broken vase to my face.“Cole?” I lowered my hand slowly. “What are you doing here?”“I could ask you the same thing.” He straightened, his expression changing from relief to concern. “Are you hurt?”“Don’t change the subject. How did you find me? How did you know I was here?”He hesitated, and that small pause made my stomach tighten.“I tracked you.”My eyes widened.“You did what?”“I put

  • Fake Dating the arrogant hockey Captain    The safe house

Lila’s POVI stared at the large house standing in front of me, its dark windows reflecting the moonlight. There were no guards at the entrance, no cars in the driveway, and no sign that anyone was inside. Yet something about the place made my stomach twist. This was Victor Harrison's safe house. Somewhere inside those walls was the evidence that could finally expose his crimes. And I was about to break into it."Are you ready?" Nadia’s voice cut through my thoughts as she whispered beside me.I turned sharply toward her. She was trying to appear calm, but she kept rubbing her palms against her jeans. "No," I admitted quietly. "But we have to do this."Nadia nodded and reached for her bag. "Then stay close to me. We get the evidence, and we leave. Nothing else matters."We began making our way inside, crossing the driveway carefully. We had barely taken two steps when I spotted a small camera mounted above the entrance. My steps stopped."Nadia,” I whispered. “Look.”She followed my

  • Fake Dating the arrogant hockey Captain    The fear of losing her

Cole’s POV“Cole, watch your left!”I heard my teammate's warning, but I was already moving. I drove the puck across the ice, pushed past him, and struck it toward the goal with more force than necessary. The puck slammed into the net.“Harrison!” Coach Daniel’s voice rang across the rink. “Calm down! This is practice, not the final game.”His words barely registered. I tightened my grip on my hockey stick while I skated back into position, my mind returning to the same thoughts that had haunted me since last night.Every time I closed my eyes, I saw Victor standing in his study, admitting without the slightest remorse that he had killed Daniel and taken the recording. He had said it so casually, as though he were talking about something ordinary like the weather. How the hell was I supposed to concentrate after that? The final game of the season was fast approaching, and professional scouts would be watching. This was the opportunity I had worked for years. My chance to prove myself,

  • Fake Dating the arrogant hockey Captain    A shocking Ally

Lila’s POV"Excuse me. Sorry, please. Excuse me.” I hurried through the crowded hallway, clutching the strap of my bag as I squeezed past students who seemed to have all the time in the world, my heart pounding so hard that I could feel it in my throat. When I got the message a few moments ago, I spent almost an hour deciding whether to go. But after everything that had happened with Daniel, I desperately wanted to believe there was still a chance to get justice. But what if it was a trap? What if Victor had somehow discovered my plans and was waiting for me to make another mistake?I slowed down for a moment, pulling my phone from my bag. My thumb hovered over Sophie's contact. I could send her a quick message to at least tell her where I was going."No," I whispered, slipping my phone back into my bag. "I can handle this myself."With that, I hurried toward the old administration building which stood at the quieter end of the campus, away from the busy lecture halls and crowded caf

Then, I hurried across campus toward the music building. The upcoming music showcase was approaching, and despite everything happening in my life, I couldn't afford to miss it.By the time I reached the music room, the sound of violins had already filled the hallway. I pushed the door open quietly, hoping to slip inside without attracting too much attention. Unfortunately, the instructor noticed me immediately."Miss Lila, how kind of you to join us," she said, lowering he

  • Fake Dating the arrogant hockey Captain    The monster behind the mask

Cole’s POV“FUCK!”My fist slammed against the steering wheel, and the sound echoed through the car. Pain shot through my knuckles, but I barely felt it. All I could hear was Lila’s voice repeating inside my head. What if you and your father planned this together?A bitter laugh tore out of me as I dragged both hands through my hair.Unbelievable.Just fucking unbelievable.I had stolen money from my own father because the woman I loved needed it to get evidence against him.And what did I get in return?Accusations.“I’m such a fucking idiot,” I whispered, hitting the steering wheel again. My fingers tightened around it as I turned my head and glanced at the black bag sitting on the passenger seat. The money.Victor usually retired to his bedroom around eleven, and the staff knew better than to disturb him once he had settled in for the night. This was the perfect time to slip inside the house and return the money to the safe.Without a second thought, I grabbed the bag and got out o
