Sunlight spilled across the hotel room like warm honey, brushing against Julia's bare shoulder just as she blinked awake. For a moment she didn't remember where she was.

Hawaii.The company retreat.The fight.The kiss.The wall.Alan.

Her breath hitched.

She felt the warmth beside her before she saw him—the steady rise and fall of his chest, the faint brush of his arm against hers. She turned her head slowly.

Alan was lying on his side facing her, one hand resting loosely near her waist like he'd fallen asleep mid-attempt to pull her closer. His hair was tousled. His jaw shadowed. He looked completely unguarded.

Vulnerable.

Human.

Not the Alpha CEO.Not the man who broke her.Just… Alan.

Julia's heart twisted painfully.

She should leave. She knew she should leave.

But her body refused to move.

After a long moment, Alan's eyelashes fluttered. He woke quietly, as if he'd been waiting for her to open her eyes first.

He stared at her, sleepy and intense."Morning," he murmured, voice husky.

Heat rushed to her cheeks. "Morning."

A slow, dangerous smile curved his lips."You're still here."

"I was… thinking," she said, trying to sit up.

Alan immediately reached out, his fingers brushing her arm to steady her.Julia's breath caught at the gentle touch.

"You don't have to run," he said softly.

"I'm not running."

"You always run from me."

She stiffened. "Because you always catch me."

He gave a low laugh—a sad, bitter sound. "I wish it were that easy."

Julia stood, grabbing her robe in a rush."I shouldn't have been here last night."

Alan sat up slowly, studying her like she was a painting he couldn't put into words.

"But you were," he said. "And you kissed me first."

She froze."Don't twist this."

"I'm not twisting anything. I'm remembering." His eyes dragged over her with aching softness. "You kissed me like you were starving."

Her heart thudded painfully."Stop, Alan."

"No." He stood, walking toward her. "Not this time."

Julia stepped back until the edge of the dresser hit her spine.

He stopped inches away—close enough that she felt the heat of his body, the faint coconut scent of the hotel soap on his skin, the energy pulling her toward him like gravity.

"Last night meant something," he murmured.

"To you," she whispered. "You always decide what things mean for both of us."

That hit him. Hard.

His jaw clenched. He took a step back—like he was forcing himself to let her breathe.

"You're right," he said quietly. "I've made decisions that weren't mine to make."

Julia swallowed.

"But what happened last night?" His voice cracked. "You're not going to pretend that didn't come from you too."

She couldn't.

Because the memory of last night still burned on her lips—his mouth, his hands, the way he whispered her name like a man on the edge of breaking.

"I don't know what it was," she said. "A mistake. Weakness. Fear. I don't know."

Alan exhaled sharply."Not weakness," he murmured. "Don't ever call what you feel weakness."

She moved to walk past him—determined to escape before she did something reckless again.

But as she passed, he caught her wrist—not forcefully, just enough that she stopped.

"Julia," he whispered.

She looked up at him, and something snapped.

She didn't know who moved first.Maybe him.Maybe her.

But suddenly she was pressed against his chest, his forehead resting against hers, their breaths merging in a slow, trembling rhythm.

His hand slid to her waist, warm through her robe. Her fingers curled into his shirt without thinking.

It wasn't last night's desperate hunger. It was worse.

Slower.Deeper.Dangerously intimate.

"Tell me this is nothing," he whispered. "Look in my eyes and say it."

She tried. She really tried.

But her voice wouldn't come.

Alan brushed a soft kiss at the corner of her mouth—barely there, but enough to unravel her knees.

"Julia…"

She shivered. Her lips brushed his jaw.His fingers tightened, drawing her closer—

A knock exploded at the door.

They froze.

"Alan?" Veronica's voice. "We have the breakfast briefing in ten minutes. Are you ready?"

Julia's entire body dropped into cold panic.

Alan closed his eyes. "Not now."

"Alan?" Veronica knocked again. "I can come in if—"

"I'm coming," he snapped.

Julia untangled herself instantly, stepping away as if burned.

Her chest ached.Reality slammed back like a wave.

They were in Hawaii. On a company trip. With Veronica outside.

This could ruin them both.

Alan looked at her one last time—eyes dark with something she couldn't name.

"This isn't over," he whispered.

Before she could respond, he opened the door a crack, slipping out to face Veronica.

Julia stood alone in the room, trembling, her lips still tingling with the ghost of him.

And for the first time, she wasn't sure if she feared losing him—Or feared what it meant if she kept him.

  • Fake Heiress, Real Desire   Shattered, Unraveled, and Claimed

The hospital room felt smaller than it had before. Everything smelled like antiseptic and sorrow. My legs were like jelly. Every heartbeat felt like it would shatter me into a thousand pieces.I could barely stand. The sight of my father—so fragile, so quiet—made me want to collapse, scream, and cry all at once. My chest ached, my stomach turned, and the world felt like it was spinning faster than I could keep up with."I… I can't…" I whispered, voice trembling.Alan was there instantly. His hands were on my arms before I even realized I'd started to fall. He didn't just hold me. He anchored me. He was solid, terrifying, and protective all at once."You don't get to fall, Julia," he said, voice low, rough with emotion. "Not in front of me. Not ever."I swallowed hard, tears blinding me. "Alan… I…"He cut me off, pressing a hand lightly to my cheek—a sharp, almost accusatory tap that made me flinch. But it wasn't violent. It wasn't cruel. It was his way of waking me up, of reminding me

  • Fake Heiress, Real Desire   The Heart That’s Fading

First-Person POV — JuliaThe hallway outside my father's room felt colder than the rest of the hospital. Maybe it was the fluorescent lights. Maybe it was the fear squeezing my lungs. Or maybe it was the two men standing on either side of the doorway, both refusing to leave me alone, both refusing to look away.Alan stood stiffly to my right, arms crossed, jaw clenched so tightly I could see the muscle twitch.Kai was on my left, holding the bouquet of lilies like he was afraid they'd fall apart if he breathed too hard. And I?I was trapped between them—emotionally, physically, painfully.Alan spoke first, voice low but shaking with restrained emotion."You should've told me you were leaving Hawaii. I would've—"Kai cut in sharply. "You would've what? Controlled her more? She didn't need you yelling at her when she was trying to save her father."Alan turned slowly, dangerously."Say that again.""Gladly," Kai snapped. "She needed support, not anger."Their voices started rising.Pressure

  • Fake Heiress, Real Desire   The Moment He Found Me

  • Fake Heiress, Real Desire   The World Thinks I’m Gone

  • Fake Heiress, Real Desire   The Sky Fell Without Warning

(Julia — First-Person POV)The flight I managed to book was overbooked, chaotic, and not even the one Hawaii originally tried to secure."Miss, we can only get you on the connecting flight through LA," the airline staff had told me.I didn't care. I took it.I didn't tell Kai or Alan.I didn't have the strength to explain.I just… boarded. My phone was at 3% when I got on the plane.Dead by the time we took off.For once, silence felt like mercy. No calls. No tension. No questions.Just me and the terrifying thought that I might lose my father forever.I closed my eyes as the plane rumbled into the clouds.Meanwhile — Back in HawaiiKai stood in the hotel lobby, nearly vibrating with frustration. "She should've landed by now."Alan paced steps away, his jaw clenched so tight it could shatter. • Fake Heiress, Real Desire   The Call That Shattered Paradise

Hawaii was supposed to be a reset. The ocean breeze, the turquoise water, the soft crash of waves—everything felt like a temporary escape from the storm my life had become. I told myself I needed this business retreat, that it would help me refocus… but deep down I knew I was running.Running from the mess in the pack.Running from Kai's unreadable eyes.Running from Alan's spiraling emotions.Running from the ache I'd been ignoring for too long.I stepped out onto the balcony of the resort conference suite, breathing in salt air. Below, the staff prepared for the afternoon meeting—banners, glass tables, and far too many smiles. Hawaii always made everything feel deceptively beautiful.Even when your world was falling apart."Julia," Hawaii (the person, not the place) called from behind me—it was still weird having an assistant named Hawaii while being in Hawaii. "The investors from Tokyo just landed, they'll join us in fifteen minutes. Kai and Alan are already downstairs.""Great," I sa
