LOGINAlyssa sat rigid in the limousine. At this time, she was meant to think of the ice cream flavour to enjoy with Kate.
Now she was getting married. She glanced at the man beside her, her husband. The word was foreign to her. It was a place she had only imagined for Conner, but now someone else filled it up. Kate had always joked about her impulsive actions and decisions. But never in her wildest dreams did she imagine her impulsiveness would get her legally bound to the such a person. Even Conner didn't own a limousine. Her stomach lurched forward. This was beyond her. “You are awfully quiet.” Harrison’s rich voice echoed behind her. “I thought you were excited to prove a point to me. Are you going to admit defeat now?” He almost pulled a smile. Alyssa turned to him. “I stand by the fact that I can make you believe in love. Your fancy car and title does not change anything,” she said defiantly. Harrison rolled his eyes. “You could not even maintain your own relationship.” What? That was not her fault at all! Alyssa’s face instantly turned red, and she faced the window. This was a lot better than indulging that block of wood. She wanted to talk back, but he might actually be Harrison Alexander the Fifth, he could do so much by lifting his fingers. Suddenly, an idea hit her. “Wouldn’t your wealthy parents disagree if you bring an ordinary civilian for marriage?” Harrison looked at her, his deep blue eyes piercing, as if trying to see if she was playing any tactics. “My parents have no say in whosoever I choose to wed,” he uttered lazily, then his eyes went up. “Alfred, please tell him to drive faster. I have a lot of work to do after this.” Alfred perked up from the front seat after hearing his name. “The court is in sight, Sir.” Fifteen minutes later, Alyssa walked out of the court as if she was in a trance. “Miss Alyssa. I'm sorry, but you would be following a different transport from the Master,” Alfred spoke, drawing her attention. “Oh, is there a reason why?” It was then Alyssa noticed that Harrison had already left. “Master Harrison had something urgent to deal with.” “Oh, okay. Can I go to my own house now?” Alyssa asked, contemplating if she could use this chance and leave the country. Alfred smiled, shaking his head. “I'm afraid not, Miss Alyssa,” he said, before beckoning her towards the vehicle. “Oh my heavens! Is that an armoured Mercedes Maybach? S-Class?” Alyssa's eyes widened, and she rushed down. “I see you knows your cars. Yes, it is,” Alfred answered her as they came closer to the car. Alyssa inhaled. Maybe marrying an ultra billionaire was not a bad idea after all. The Mercedes Maybach drove into a large iron gate, and it opened up to a large expanse of land. At the centre stood a large castle, with other buildings surrounding it. Around the pristine castle was a golden gate, manned by two security blocks. Alyssa pushed the door open, stepping out to face the tall, gloomy mansion. The afternoon sunrays were what gave it colour. “Miss Alyssa, the guards are there to assist you in opening the door,” Alfred said when he came to her side. “Thank you, but it is faster if I do that myself.” Alyssa gave him a small smile. She knew it was for her safety, but was there a need when they were at their destination? Not saying anything, Alfred led her inside. “Would I have to meet Harrison's parents, please?” Alyssa asked. Her eyes were everywhere, taking in the massiveness of just the living room. The dark colours gave her a headache. No wonder that guy was like that. ‘I don't believe in love.’ Alyssa chuckled in her head. How could you believe in love when you feed your eyes with darkness? “Master Harrison lives alone, but I'm sure he would inform you when you need to make an appearance to your in-laws,” Alfred answered. Alyssa's eyes widened. “Lives all by himself? That is sad.” “He likes his privacy,” Alfred continued. “Does he have any hobbies or things he loves doing?” Alyssa asked. “He is currently engaged in his companies,” Alfred was cautious with his answers. There were times when the Master had such things until that fateful day. It was best not to divulge anything until he was sure this new woman could be trusted. “When will he come back, please?” Alyssa sighed, sitting on one of the sofas. “Master Harrison comes back very late in the night due to his immense workload. But a guard contacted me, and he would be home in an hour for dinner.” Alyssa slowly nodded. Getting an experience of Harrison's living experience made her realise she would have to put effort into winning his heart. However, she did not love him either, except he was a very handsome man, which was actually good enough. Pinching her nose bridge, she scolded herself for being impulsive. “I'm never drinking wine again.” --- In the Winters Mansion. Conner threw his phone against the wall, startling Clara. “Darling, what is wrong?” Clara inched forward. She had a feeling it was because of Alyssa’s return. “She actually went and got married. I cannot believe Alyssa would do this. What is her play? Does she have something that would stand against us?” Conner moved his fingers through his hair. Clara moved back with a slight frown on her face. This was supposed to be her moment. The spotlight was finally on her and now Alyssa had found a way to drag it back, just like when they were children. Clara dug her nails into her palms, letting the pain clear her mind. She had gone out of her way, hiring those men to kill Alyssa, yet it was fruitless. However, giving up was never an option. “Baby, you are thinking too much about this. Remember, we have our wedding on the way,” Clara uttered, moving to stand in front of Conner. Seeing the teary gaze in Clara's eyes, Conner smiled before leaning down to kiss her forehead. “I know, Clara. But Grandfather is making it hard. I do not think the wedding would hold this month either, unless Alyssa can convince Grandfather to let us be,” Conner explained. “Do we really need Grandfather’s agreement? He is not the one getting married!” Clara thought out loud. Conner nodded. “He is the patriarch of the Winters Family. His agreement must be given as long as he lives.” “I see. Alright then. I hope Alyssa would consider the good you have done for her and help us out,” Clara smiled and rested on her fiancé's chest. Either way, she would still become the Winters’ bride. As soon as the sun rose, Kate woke her boyfriend up. “Get up, it's morning! You promised.” Cage rubbed his eyes with the back of his hands, slowly blinking to accommodate the bright morning sun rays that filled the room. He picked up his phone and went to his unread messages. “I found where he lives.” A large grin spread across his face as he showed Kate the text. “I told you we'd find him.” Kate squealed with joy. Immediately, he sent Cang’s number to her and told her everything she needed to know about the assassin he assigned to accompany her. He trusted Cang more than any other high-profile assassin he knew. Him and Jang, his brother, ruled the underground world. Their reputation knew no bounds. If anyone could get the work done, it would be one of them. Kate dashed into the bathroom and soon got dressed. Cang arrived at their house and the two headed for Victor's apartment in the suburbs. As they got closer to the slums of the city, the differenc
Kate sat in front of her laptop, her favorite coffee mug perched on a placeholder next to a notepad. She was scribbling words mercilessly on the pad, brows crossed and focused. She had been up all night trying to hack into Kesley's phone and find out who Harry's real father was. Asides the loud cry of the crickets, the sound of her mouse continuously clicking bounced off the sitting room walls. Meanwhile, Cage had been asleep in the bedroom, completely oblivious to her actions. Kate scrolled down the archives she managed to retrieve from Kesley's deleted phone log history. She smiled to herself, feeling proud and grateful to Cage for teaching her how to hack. Suddenly, a name caught her eye. “Victor Hale…” she muttered to herself, squinting her eyes to read properly. The name had appeared as the frequently contacted number, so Kate thought it was only wise to dig deeper. As she scrolled, she noticed the last time Kesley had spoken to Victor was three months ag
"You can place the tubes in this rack and wait for a while." The nurse lady said.Alyssa was picking at her nails as she waited impatiently for the results. “Girl, leave the rest to me and go get a bottle of juice or something. You look like you need it,” Kate teased. Alyssa let out a quiet sigh. “I really want it to be negative. That boy cannot be Harrison's son. He just cannot be.” Kate put the test tubes she was holding in their racks and gently placed her hands on Alyssa's shoulders. “Even if he was, it doesn't change anything, okay?” “You're supposed to be my friend, how can you say tha–?” “Hey, listen to me,” Kate cut her off. “Harrison loves you and a random woman and her child won't change that. Nothing can change that.” Alyssa's mind played back to what happened in her bedroom earlier and butterflies crowded her tummy. Kate noticed Alyssa's body physically relax and her breathing returning to normal. She smiled to herself. “You have nothing to worry about. Negative
Kelsey frowned, "I don't care. Don't think you are winning anything, Alyssa. Harrison has always been mine." Hearing that, Alyssa simply scoffed and walked away. She had gotten what she needed and the next thing was to arrange her plan and verify the real DNA results. She walked back to her room and locked the door. Raising her phone to her ears, Alyssa placed a call to Kate. "Hi. my love." She said immediately the phone connected She had to admit, Kate really deserved an award when it came to answering phone calls at the speed of light. “Did you get the sample?” A sweet feminine voice seeped through the speakers of Alyssa's phone. Straight to plan. She would come back home, get the samples and they would start their motion. Seeing that even Eleanor believed Kelsey, Alyssa knew she had not time or she would be driven out of this house. “I did!” Alyssa replied, sounding more excited that she should. “Now I'll finally know if that bloodsucking serpent is lying or not.” "It
Alyssa didn't mean to say those words, but it was too late.Harrison's strides halted. His face squeezed with fury. He stood on the same spot for a while as Alyssa's mind raged wondering what he could be thinking about. He snapped his head back to face her, and his body followed. He stormed to where Alyssa helplessly stood and crashed his lips into hers.Harrison cupped her cheeks in his hands, holding onto them like precious ornaments. His hand angled her her face, and he deepened the intensity of the kiss.Alyssa tried pushing him away, her hands resting on his chest.'Stop kissing me Harrison. Kelsey can't see us like this.' She wanted to say but she couldn't.Harrison grabbed her wrist, and hung her hands over her head. When he was sure that she was breathless, he released her.But only for a moment.“I love you…” he said, before moving in to kiss her again. Then he released her, and Alyssa gasped for air.“Don't speak to me like that again…” Alyssa's eyes widened and a faint
Kelsey frowned, but somehow she felt a bit scared. However there was no way that Alyssa would have found out about her child. It was much too impossible."You should have better things to do than make empty threats. There's no way you are stealing Harrison from me." Kelsey frowned.Alyssa only smiled, "How can I steal something that's already mine? Give me a week and I'd make sure you that you are unable to step your foot into this house."Alyssa's threat hung in the air for a moment longer before she walked past Kelsey and headed to her bedroom."I can't believe I have to deal with that woman on coming here. Harrison should have argued on her to be kept away." Alyssa frowned. But thinking about it, it was more of Eleanor's fault than Harrison."That woman wouldn't even want to support me, thinking I'm seducing her son." Alyssa grumbled, "Kelsey is even more useless than me. I just need to prove it."Satisfied with how she had confronted Kelsey, Alyssa felt like she had things in cont
At first, Alyssa widened her eyes, and then she shook her head. “I don't need your money, Harrison,” she said, turning back to her laptop. Seeing her defiance, Harrison's frown deepened and he turned her face back to him. “I am your husband. Your concern is mine. And you don't have to pay me back
“Kate, I do not think I can get out of this bet.” Alyssa was on her bed, talking to the one person who made her feel safe. “Why do you want to leave? This was really good for you, Alyssa. What about Conner and Clara?” Kate asked. “I would leave the city after the gala. Run away from Harrison. Get
“Watch your words, Helda. It is my wife you are talking about,” Harrison’s frown deepened. Helda scoffed. “You do not understand, Brother. It happened the first time, and it will definitely happen again. Women like this are gold diggers.” “I have more than enough gold for her to dig, Helda. What i
Alyssa walked with her waist tightly held by Harrison. Being a model allowed her to adapt to such an atmosphere. But she had never been in a place like this as someone's wife. Even Conner didn't take her to all these places. “Relax.” Harrison whispered by her side. Alyssa nodded softly. It was s
