MasukThree days passed in the blink of an eye.
Alyssa spent these days memorising everything about Harrison's schedule. “This man has to be a robot, Kate. He doesn't even rest,” she spoke into her phone. “Have you spoken to him yet?” Kate asked. “He barely has any time for himself. How would he have for me?” Alyssa sighed. Kate nodded. “If you want to win this bet, you'd have to force yourself on him,” she advised. “Yeah, I know. I'd call you later to give you more updates. I'm leaving now,” Alyssa said, and she ended the call. She stepped into the kitchen and carried the food she had prepared. “Like they always say, the way to a man's heart is through his stomach.” She smiled. She was able to convince Alfred to take her to Harrison's company. Alfred was more than happy that he even escorted her through the company's gate and to the front of Harrison's office. Alyssa didn't miss the fact that she had strange gazes as she walked beside Alfred. But it was understandable. From what Alfred had told her, Harrison wasn't a dealer with women. “He's in there. Good luck,” Alfred uttered. Spending just three days with this girl showed that this was probably what Harrison needed. Bidding Alfred goodbye, Alyssa knocked on the door. There was no response. After waiting for a while, Alyssa took a deep breath and walked in. “I don't remember asking for a delivery service.” Harrison slowly lifted his head and stared at her. “Well, you didn't eat before leaving the house. So as your wife, I thought you might be hungry,” Alyssa answered, highlighting the word “wife.” “What game are you trying to play?” Harrison leaned back on his chair, causing the suit to pull against his taut muscles. Normally, this would have distracted Alyssa, but she was here for another goal. “I don't enjoy you interrupting my work,” Harrison frowned. Alyssa pulled a chair in front of him. “You said you wanted to take me up on the bet, so you have to allow me to do these things. Besides, everyone has to eat, Harrison. Even robots get fed with oil,” she uttered. “If I wanted to eat, I'd order food.” Harrison completely shut her down. “So leave my office. You being my wife doesn't mean you get to intrude on my personal space,” he frowned. Alyssa rolled her eyes. “Don't be miserable, CEO,” she dragged the last word before opening one of the containers, and the scent of chicken filled the air. Harrison's eyes twitched. This lady was playing with him, but why did the food smell so good? “Alyssa…” “Just take a bite. If you don't like it, I'd leave and never do this again,” she uttered, carrying the plate to her lap. Alyssa knew she was a great cook. If modelling didn't take so much time for a passion, she would have also become a chef. “Another bet…” Harrison sighed, but he didn't refuse any longer and simply watched the girl. “Yes!” Alyssa answered, and she picked a portion of the rice with the spoon. “Say ahh…” “I'm not a child, I can feed myself,” Harrison frowned, but the lady was unwilling, so he opened his mouth. She inserted the food in his mouth and watched him chew. On Harrison's face was a perfect stony expression, masking his reaction. He picked a napkin and wiped his mouth. “You can leave now,” he uttered, beckoning towards the door. “Oh—” Alyssa was a bit surprised. “You don't have any comments?” “You expect me to thank you for disrupting my work? You can leave,” Harrison uttered brutally. Alyssa shrugged; at least she tried. Even though she did feel a bit hurt. There wasn't anyone who had complained about her food. She began to pack up the food. Suddenly, Harrison grabbed her hand. “Leave the food.” “Oh, so you do like the food?” Alyssa taunted, a playful smirk on her lips. But Harrison stood up. The movement was so sudden that it made Alyssa flinch. Then he leaned closer, clamping his hands on her seat and trapping her with his body. Alyssa swallowed. This man was way too close; he had the scent of a new book and rain, and it permeated her nose. But she wasn't giving up. “Are you trying to intimidate me, Master Harrison? Because it's not working,” Alyssa said. But all Harrison did was smile, and then he leaned closer. “You are playing a very dangerous game, Alyssa. Getting into my world might ruin you,” he whispered. The feel of his breath on her neck sent her nerves into overdrive. “You still have time to forfeit your bet, and I'd forget everything you tried to do,” he said. Alyssa swallowed. She had wanted to get out of the wedding initially, but now that she thought about it, it wasn't that bad. And she could also prove to Conner that she could live a good life. This was her revenge to those two criminals, and she wasn't going to let it go. She inched her face forward and gave Harrison a peck, causing the man to blank out. “This is my good luck charm to you. Have fun with work, and I'd meet you at home.” She softly pushed him back and stood up from the chair. Without looking back, she walked out of the office room and shut the door. Alyssa rested her back on the door. “You idiot!” She hissed, pressing a palm to her burning cheek. “A peck? Really? You could have just left, but you gave that ice king a peck?!” Her heart was banging against her ribs. “Get it together, Alyssa. He's your husband now. There's nothing strange with pecking him, and you even pecked him as a waiter. There's no difference.” she mumbled, calming herself down. She walked out of the elevator and didn't look back. “I need ice-cream right now.” Inside the office, the atmosphere had grown chilly. Harrison stood exactly where she left him. He raised his hand, brushing the spot where her lips had touched him. This was also the same spot she kissed him the other time. Twice had this woman invaded his personal space. “Ridiculous,” he gritted his teeth, before walking back to his seat. He grabbed the file on his desk and flipped it with aggressive force. ‘Page one. Investment details.’ He stared at the words, and they blurred. ‘Page one. Investment details.’ “Very distracting.” He frowned. The office was filled with her flowery scent. His eyes flew to the pack of food. He picked up the fork and stabbed a piece of chicken, eating it without an expression. “Delicious.” he muttered, a small smile forming on his face.“What?” Alyssa nearly lost her grip on the ice cream bucket.“It's a meeting with the Chinese Conglomerates of my Investment Firm. They cherish family and would have a higher impression of me if I bring my wife.” Harrison explained, holding her hand and moving her to a seat.“I am a person, Harrison. Not some suitcase you can pack up to fit your schedule!” Alyssa raised her gaze at him, this was too sudden.Harrison didn't flinch, “I didn't beg you to be my wife. These are the circumstances, Alyssa.” He said, taking the ice-cream bucket from her hands.“My partners expect a wife. You are the only one with that title.” His voice gave a low rumble.Hearing his argument, Alyssa sighed. “I have model training. The Christmas Fashion Gala is coming soon.”Harrison leaned in, his shadow looming over her, before he gave her a small head pat.“We'd be leaving tomorrow. I have assigned some people to help in your wardrobe planning.” He smiled. Did she forget that he was the one in charge of tha
It was the longest fifteen minutes of her life, but they had finally arrived at the large company. She took the elevator, ignoring the strange glances sent her way.Stopping in front of Harrison’s door, she was about to enter when someone interrupted her.“Excuse me, ma’am. You cannot go in there.”A lady in a tailored suit walked forward, standing between Alyssa and the door to her man.Alyssa looked down at the woman’s tag. His personal secretary?“I want to see Harrison.”“I do not know who you think you are, Miss, but to see Mr. Alexander requires proper protocol, not barging in,” the lady scoffed.Alyssa raised her brows. “I am sorry, Tania. I did not realize I needed permission before I could see my husband.”She rested her hands on her waist. The food was losing heat, just like her patience.Tania smirked. This person was clearly an imposter. Everyone knew Mr. Harrison was not affiliated with any woman except that one lady.Even though she had tried many times to get his attent
Conner snapped back at the sound of that voice.“Mr Harri…”Pain shot across his face like a whip, saliva flying from his mouth.Harrison cracked his knuckles.“Next time you touch her, you will not be this lucky.”With that, he grabbed Alyssa, who had been dazed by the action, and pulled her away.Looking at his back, Alyssa could already feel the raging temperature that threatened to turn her to ice.He pulled her into the Agency Company, ignoring the looks sent their way.“Is that Harrison Alexander?”“No, you are dreaming. Why would he even come to this place?”“You are probably right, but he looks so much like Harrison Alexander.”Meanwhile, Harrison was fuming. All he could see was red.Why did that man dare to pull her close. It felt like betrayal. He walked straight into one of the rooms, dragging Alyssa behind him.The moment the door clicked, Harrison cornered her.Alyssa swallowed, wanting to vanish instantly. This was the first time she was seeing him like this.“Harrison…
Before they entered their ride, Alyssa quickly pulled Harrison into a selfie. “You should take more pictures.” She smiled at him. He had a very photogenic look. She quickly tapped on her phone and gave the picture a caption. ‘The night sky glitters best in the presence of your loved ones.’ The pictures were instantly posted on Outlook, the world’s trending social media platform. Seeing her smile, Harrison didn’t mind. At least it would serve as an apology. Upon reaching home, Alyssa collapsed on her bed. Thinking of what Harrison said about her food, she giggled into her pillow. “I’d definitely make him breakfast tomorrow and bring him lunch.” She mumbled and drifted off to sleep. Unknown to her, her single selfie had created a ruckus online. —Is that Billionaire Alexander? —I don’t think so. I have only heard of his beauty, but his pictures are so rare to find that I gave up. —I heard he was among the top five on the world’s leading bachelors list! I didn’t know he was this
Alyssa looked around, her arm entwined with Harrison's.They were standing inside The Ivory Table—the kind of five-star establishment she had only ever dreamed of visiting. Now, it was right in front of her.Suddenly, a man in a sharp suit rushed out from the entrance."Master Alexander! I didn't know you'd be dining with us today. I should have prepared the VIP suite."Alyssa glanced at the man’s tag. The General Manager came out personally to receive him?She knew Harrison was a CEO, but the way people bowed to him suggested he was on a completely different level of wealth. She hadn't seen his pictures online, but it seemed like these people knew who he was.“You can arrange one now,” Harrison said, turning to the man, before his hand went down to Alyssa’s waist. He tightened his hold and pulled her with him.The men around here stared too long.“Harrison…” Alyssa pulled the brim of his coat, causing the man to stop in his tracks. The sudden proximity had caused Alyssa’s face to red
Harrison glanced at his watch. Why was she taking so long to come out? After the stunt he pulled at dinner, Alfred had spoken to him on the way to the office. He had seen the dinner drama. That man had a way with words. But thinking about what Alfred had said, he might have been too harsh on her. Not every lady was that woman, so if he still needed her use, he had to not push her away. But falling in love? Harrison lightly chuckled. There was no way he would fall for someone like her. She was too sophisticated. His interactions with her made him feel bare. The word was on the tip of his tongue. “Unpredictable,” Harrison muttered, his eyes still fixed on the entrance. That was the word. She broke through his calculations and did something different every time they came together. He didn't like that; it made him lose control over himself. The last time he lost control ended brutally, and that was his first time, all because of a woman. “Boss Sir. It's starting
