"Alyssa, you can't just walk out after the damage you caused," Conner said.

Alyssa smirked. "Weren't you the one who was chasing me away? And as you can see, I have moved on," she said, beckoning to the man beside her.

"You are kidding. You cannot expect me to believe that you got married and patched up your life in a single year." Conner stepped forward, his eyes dimmed when he stared at Alyssa.

There was no way she could move on that fast. Did she not say she loved him?

Alyssa frowned. She remembered calling this man her boyfriend. Why was Conner talking about marriage?

"That is none of your business, Conner." She pulled off the diamond ring on her finger.

"Ta-da! We are now engaged. I am getting married to him and that is my decision, so stay out of it." Alyssa placed the ring on her hired boyfriend's finger.

Meanwhile, Harrison looked at the woman who had dragged him into this drama, and he gazed down at the ring. What was she thinking?

She mentioned pretending, but she never spoke about marriage!

He wanted to say something, but from the way she spoke, this moment deeply mattered to her.

Harrison's eyes moved to Conner. He had seen the displayed video.

This Alyssa lady had bad taste in men.

Conner felt a pang in his heart, but he could only watch as Alyssa walked away.

Why did her back feel so unreachable now?

Seeing the interaction made Clara burn with jealousy. "Conner, my darling, she doesn't deserve you. I am here," she said with a sultry voice, causing the man to turn to her.

Just as he was about to speak, his phone rang.

Conner picked up his device, and when he saw the caller, his face paled.

It was his grandfather.

By then, Alyssa had walked out of the building, and she pulled the waiter with her.

A tear fell down her cheeks, but she quickly wiped it.

This was what she had planned for a year.

Despite the pain and anger she felt, she would suck back her tears.

The past year had been filled with so much trouble, but the journey had strengthened her.

Then a voice broke her reverie. "Your ring."

Alyssa turned back to see the waiter handing over the ring.

"Even you don't want to marry me." She chuckled with a sardonic smile.

The man raised his head. "I don't think you want to get involved with me either." His deep blue eyes seemed to stare into her soul.

Since when were handsome men recruited to be waiters?

Alyssa paused, then she tilted her head. "You don't believe in love at first sight," she said, wondering why she was so confident in flirting with a stranger.

It had to be the wine.

"I do not believe in love," the man shot back. He pulled out the dollar notes she had given him. "I do not need this either."

Then he turned to leave.

"Wait. You can't leave." Alyssa panicked. She had just played a big card inside that building by announcing her wedding to him.

Why did she not think straight? She blamed her raging emotional impulse.

The man raised his brow. "I am not interested in getting involved in your drama. I was merely bored today."

"What if I make you fall in love?" Alyssa blurted out.

Her mind was constantly racing. If Conner found out she was lying, he would make her life worse.

"I do not need love at the moment—" The man paused his words before raising his vibrating phone to his ear.

Alyssa could only watch in silence while she admired his facial details.

This man was beyond handsome. Was this what books meant when they described the male leads as Greek gods?

His jawline was defined, and the dimples in his cheek were an added bonus.

His voice had a deep, rich feel, and it made her swallow. It seemed like he was not pleased with whoever was on the other side of the phone with the way he pinched the bridge of his nose.

Taking her gaze down, she realised his clothes were tailored to his fit.

This was definitely not a waiter.

"You can take a picture, it would last better." The man's voice brought her back.

"I— I can make you believe in love, and I really need this wedding." Alyssa uttered. She was already out of options.

At first, the man took a good look at her, his eyes eating her up.

"Since you want to get married so badly, I would humour you. Make me believe in love in thirty days or..."

Alyssa didn't think he would actually accept at all, so she interrupted him. "If I do not, I will do whatever you want after the bet."

He slowly shook his head. "You are making a big mistake, lady." He chuckled. It was a deep, dark chuckle.

Just then, a limousine pulled up in front of them and a man stepped out.

"Master Harrison. We have been looking everywhere for you." The elderly man took a quick bow before speaking with deep concern.

"It is fine, Alfred. Mother sent me here to honour her friend, Jamie Winters. I don't think I will be coming back."

Alyssa froze. She couldn't believe her eyes. Isn't that a limousine?

"You own this vehicle? What kind of waiter are you?" She asked.

Her entire world tilted to the side.

Maybe she needed to get a job as a waiter too, if they were paid this richly.

Alfred perked up. This was the first time in years since he had caught the master alone with a woman. He did not think Harrison would take his father's orders seriously and actually find a wife. "He is Harrison Alexander, of course he would be afford a limousine."

Harrison sighed. "Alfred, please tell father I am fine. This is my new wife, so please take us to the court. We both have a contract to sign."

Alyssa swallowed hard. Harrison Alexander? Wasn't that the name of the famous and first Billionaire in the country?

But that man was named Harrison Alexander the Fifth and the annoying thing was there were no online pictures of him, so she didn't know what to believe.

But if they were the same person, she had just gone from the pan and into the fire.

This man could order her downfall because of everything she did today.

It was better to be safe than sorry.

"I am sorry. I did not know who you were. Whatever I said, I take it back. I apologise for troubling you and wasting your time." She bowed down her head and instantly turned to leave.

But a strong grip held her hand.

"The only place you would be going would be the court. I want to see you fulfil your little promise."

“What?” Alyssa nearly lost her grip on the ice cream bucket.“It's a meeting with the Chinese Conglomerates of my Investment Firm. They cherish family and would have a higher impression of me if I bring my wife.” Harrison explained, holding her hand and moving her to a seat.“I am a person, Harrison. Not some suitcase you can pack up to fit your schedule!” Alyssa raised her gaze at him, this was too sudden.Harrison didn't flinch, “I didn't beg you to be my wife. These are the circumstances, Alyssa.” He said, taking the ice-cream bucket from her hands.“My partners expect a wife. You are the only one with that title.” His voice gave a low rumble.Hearing his argument, Alyssa sighed. “I have model training. The Christmas Fashion Gala is coming soon.”Harrison leaned in, his shadow looming over her, before he gave her a small head pat.“We'd be leaving tomorrow. You cannot go in there.”A lady in a tailored suit walked forward, standing between Alyssa and the door to her man.Alyssa looked down at the woman’s tag. His personal secretary?“I want to see Harrison.”“I do not know who you think you are, Miss, but to see Mr. Alexander requires proper protocol, not barging in,” the lady scoffed.Alyssa raised her brows. “I am sorry, Tania. I did not realize I needed permission before I could see my husband.”She rested her hands on her waist. The food was losing heat, just like her patience.Tania smirked. This person was clearly an imposter. Everyone knew Mr. Harrison was not affiliated with any woman except that one lady.Even though she had tried many times to get his attent

Conner snapped back at the sound of that voice.“Mr Harri…”Pain shot across his face like a whip, saliva flying from his mouth.Harrison cracked his knuckles.“Next time you touch her, you will not be this lucky.”With that, he grabbed Alyssa, who had been dazed by the action, and pulled her away.Looking at his back, Alyssa could already feel the raging temperature that threatened to turn her to ice.He pulled her into the Agency Company, ignoring the looks sent their way.“Is that Harrison Alexander?”“No, you are dreaming. Why would he even come to this place?”“You are probably right, but he looks so much like Harrison Alexander.”Meanwhile, Harrison was fuming. Before they entered their ride, Alyssa quickly pulled Harrison into a selfie. “You should take more pictures.” She smiled at him. He had a very photogenic look. She quickly tapped on her phone and gave the picture a caption. ‘The night sky glitters best in the presence of your loved ones.’ The pictures were instantly posted on Outlook, the world’s trending social media platform. Seeing her smile, Harrison didn’t mind. At least it would serve as an apology. Upon reaching home, Alyssa collapsed on her bed. Thinking of what Harrison said about her food, she giggled into her pillow. “I’d definitely make him breakfast tomorrow and bring him lunch.” She mumbled and drifted off to sleep. Unknown to her, her single selfie had created a ruckus online. —Is that Billionaire Alexander? —I don’t think so. I have only heard of his beauty, but his pictures are so rare to find that I gave up. —I heard he was among the top five on the world’s leading bachelors list! I didn’t know he was this

Alyssa looked around, her arm entwined with Harrison's.They were standing inside The Ivory Table—the kind of five-star establishment she had only ever dreamed of visiting. Now, it was right in front of her.Suddenly, a man in a sharp suit rushed out from the entrance."Master Alexander! I didn't know you'd be dining with us today. I should have prepared the VIP suite."Alyssa glanced at the man’s tag. The General Manager came out personally to receive him?She knew Harrison was a CEO, but the way people bowed to him suggested he was on a completely different level of wealth. She hadn't seen his pictures online, but it seemed like these people knew who he was.“You can arrange one now,” Harrison said, turning to the man, before his hand went down to Alyssa’s waist. He tightened his hold and pulled her with him.The men around here stared too long.“Harrison…” Alyssa pulled the brim of his coat, causing the man to stop in his tracks. The sudden proximity had caused Alyssa’s face to red

  • Fall In Love, My Billionaire CEO   CHAPTER 9: SOPHISTICATED AND STUNNING

Harrison glanced at his watch. Why was she taking so long to come out? After the stunt he pulled at dinner, Alfred had spoken to him on the way to the office. He had seen the dinner drama. That man had a way with words. But thinking about what Alfred had said, he might have been too harsh on her. Not every lady was that woman, so if he still needed her use, he had to not push her away. But falling in love? Harrison lightly chuckled. There was no way he would fall for someone like her. She was too sophisticated. His interactions with her made him feel bare. The word was on the tip of his tongue. “Unpredictable,” Harrison muttered, his eyes still fixed on the entrance. That was the word. She broke through his calculations and did something different every time they came together. He didn't like that; it made him lose control over himself. The last time he lost control ended brutally, and that was his first time, all because of a woman. “Boss Sir. It's starting
