Life had a way of throwing lemons at me. I mean I remembered that day I muttered different uncontrollable words to this guy in front of me. I couldn’t have thought it would one day back fire and he would turn out to be my boss.
“Interesting.” I heard him seethe devilishly. He stood up from his seat, walking towards me.
“So, how’s that injury of yours?” He asked. I looked at him with so much hate before replying.
“Why do you care? Just sign the damn documents and I'd never show up again like you asked that day.” I spat out, looking at him like he was some sort of enemy.
“Or you could sit with me and we have a lovely conversation.” He replied, with his eyes directed to me.
“I'll rather have that conversation with someone else not you.” I said swiftly. I wondered what his problem was.
“Well, we'll be seeing more of each other now so I advise we should be familiar with each other.” He said, walking towards me.
“Let’s forget the past and get to know each other. Hi, I’m Liam James.” He said, grabbing my hands and lifting it to his lips. He kissed it softly which led to ripples of heat lingering there.
Out of shock, I immediately withdrew my hand from his. Why was I feeling giddy shaking him? My body was reacting weird this days....
“No, I don’t want to get to know you.” I said, moving several inches back. He was such a cocky person who thought the whole world would fall for his looks and riches.
“Not even your name?” he asked, arching his brows up.
“Yes, not even that. Let’s instead focus on the document.” I said firmly.
“How about we make a deal, you tell me your name and I sign the document?” he said, walking back to his chair. Liam sat his office chair, with his hands together.
“Or you could go back and tell them you couldn’t get me to sign the document.” He added mischievously.
“Wait, are you threatening me?” I asked him. It was at that moment my eyes met with his. Thus, I noticed his facial features. His face looked insanely perfect. One could doubt if he was a real or a doll.
Did he have his face done?
“Consider it a polite deal you could choose or suffer the consequences, little one.” His words sunk in. This was my first day at work and I really needed money; lots of it. In order to, I needed not to get fired. But, from how everything appeared, Liam James would be the cause of that.
That thought made me grab a chair as I sat down for the sake of my job.
“Eleanor.” I stiffly said.
Calm down, Eleanor. I told myself.
“Eleanor Reyes.” I said, sighing.
“Eleanor Reyes, what’s your history?” he asked. There was a way he pronounced my name. Like I was some treasured but it was obviously an act he put out.
“Nothing, now that I said my name, can you sign the documents?” I said, trying to keep my voice as soft as I could.
“A fierce temper and a sharp tongue. You are one hell of a woman, red.” He commented. I rolled my eyes at that statement.
Why was he calling me red?
I watched as he got a hold of the documents. He scanned right through, reading its content. He immediately signed some pages. With my eyes on his hands, I directed my eyes to his biceps.
With each signature he did, his biceps flexed in an enticing manner.
“Done. You could quit eye raping me now.” He said, with an evil glint in his eyes. I grabbed the documents the moment. I scanned through. He was done signing them.
“You wish.” I retorted back at him. I immediately walked out of the office with a thought on my mind.
He had a nice body but I wasn't going to tell him that anytime soon.
…
“Miss…” a woman in the office asked me.
“Eleanor Reyes.” I replied that instant.
“Omg! You are Eleanor Reyes? I’m Mariam, the head of the directing department. This is not your department. Please come with me, Miss.” She said, dragging my arms carefully. I walked with her till we stopped in front of a door. Opening it, I was open-mouthed at what I saw. It was a very large studio with various models in action.
I saw the photographers take pictures of the models.
Cat poses and the likes...
Flashes of camera reflected on my face from the shoot. The woman led me into a smaller room which was lit with bright lights. There was a makeup artist working his wonders on a model's face.
“Hardin, this is a new VIP model. Make sure she is next.” She ordered the makeup artist. After that, she strode out and began ordering some other people.
“Come on, girlie. Sit down, I’ll make sure you are next as she said.” He said. A thing I noticed about Hardin, the make-up artist was that he had a gay personality. His style was ripped jeans and a spaghetti hand top. There was a little scarf around his neck which complimented the outfit overall.
I sat down like he said and awaited like he said. A few seconds later, he was done with the other model. Her face seemed stern. She passed me without even acknowledging me and walked out.
“Don’t get too angry. That’s Jojo Lopez, our star model. She could be very mean and disrespectful so don’t take it to heart.” Hardin said.
“Oh, no. It’s ok.” I said, knowing I could be a spitfire sometimes.
“I’ll have to wipe off your previous make-up so the new one would fit today’s theme. I hope that’s ok, dear?” He asked.
“Y-Yeah.” I said, stuttering after remembering Chloe’s efforts on my face this morning.
Hardin immediately began with my face. In a few minutes, he was done. He then directed me to the dressing room. I met another assistant there who told me the clothes and shoes to put on.
After the hair stylist was done with my hair, I was pushed in front of the camera. With no idea of how to pose, I just stood there wide-eyed.

A/n Hi there, I hope you enjoyed this chapter. If you did, I don't mind a review. Thanks, for reading!!🥰🥰🥰
Liam’s Pov In the right way, Reyes had been dealt with. His properties would be seized by the government, in a few days from now. Which only meant one thing— this was it. “Red…” I trailed on my words, stretching my hands towards her. We were both inside the ambulance van, by each other’s side. Seemed like I took the most injuries, yet somehow, I had been able to wake up and fight. “Liam.” she breathed out, replying. “I-It’s all over…still unbelievable. I thought…I- thought we were all going to…” “Shhh.” I urged, placing a hand on her lip and silencing her. I couldn’t imagine ever losing her, so I couldn’t even bear to think of it. My injury was external, thankfully, she had a few scratches. But she still needed to be checked on, and thoroughly examined. In the other ambulance van was Chloe. Jackson had gone to her,
I screamed and screamed my guts out, but it was all futile. They kept dragging us both, till we reached beside the truck.“Now.”One of them ordered. Some black van pulled over. That instant, black sacks were put over my head. I struggled as I was being put in.“You don’t have to do this, you know.”I muttered. “Shut up, bitch.”Some rough voice sneered, irritatingly.I bit my lips, not knowing what step to take again. My entire body froze, as I stopped struggling out of fear. Hands shaking rapidly, as the van drove speedily.Liam was just beside me and he was still passed out.I wondered how hard the accident hit him. I needed to manipulate our way, out of here, since he won’t wake up.“We can pay three times the amount he’s paying you.”I attempted to convince that again.“Tsk…that’s it.”The va
We didn’t make love, after that confession.Instead, we made out.I felt more connected to him afterwards. And, I was grateful to have him by my side. Never ever would I have thought, that I would be dating this infuriating billionaire.Liam James.Arrogant and cocky…yet, the best thing that ever happened to me.Towards evening, my phone suddenly rang out. Chloe popped up on the screen.“Hello.”I called out to the receiver button. Still in the pink fluffy dress I had just used for shoot, my face was caked in a vampiric makeup. That was more of today’s theme, in Pink Moda.“Eleanor…”She trailed out weakly, in a husky tone. I wriggled my brows. “Are you okay, Clo? You sound really bad,”“I confessed my feelings to him but he rejected me. H-He rejected me, and now…I don’t know what to do.”“I j
Chloe’s PovI took an early leave to go home today, from work.I was so tired. Tired of everything. My shitty love life, and the fact that Jackson, who I presently liked, thought of us as friends and nothing else. These were my thoughts as I entered my car, zooming off at high speed. My thoughts drifted to Orange Summers—the only place that I took comfort in.“Chloe, I see you’re here again?” The bar tender called out, as I dragged a stool, sitting on it. Seemed he was used to my presence so much already.“Yeah Ray… I want four bottles of beer, please.”I ordered, bringing my phone out from my purse and settling it on the bar’s table. I texted Eleanor, but it seemed like she was busy with work too.Of recent, she was the only one I turned to in times of need. Friends at my workplace, only remaine
I became very glad that I had sorted things out with mum. Thing became insanely perfect afterwards. While I handled with Mr. Reyes, making him believe I would move back with him to Mexico, I moved back to the company’s house.Mr. Reyes had told me that the minute he was done with some personal matters in America, we would be returning to Mexico together. He had sent loads of money into my bank account, telling me this was the start point.“That bastard.”Did he think money could buy a true family’s love? He had to be joking. One morning, just as I was on my way to work, in my disguise outfit, a car pulled over beside me.I totally ignored it, but when it kept on following me, I became insanely creeped out.“HEY! Piss off!”I exclaimed those words, walking faster after noticing the glass was tinted. All of a sudden, the glass slowly came down. I could have
Liam James’ Pov Eleanor. We are so close to finding the answer. The proof to bringing Mr. Reyes down. Please stay put. Keep fighting, like the strong woman you are. Every instant, as time passed, I could tell red was in trouble. Mr Reyes, was someone highly dangerous. And, I had to take caution when dealing with him. Since he was in town, it was so much better. I would be able to keep tabs on his business back in Mexico, and his intentions with red. I needed to know why he’d suddenly show up after all the years, to ruin her life. What exactly did he even want from her? “Solomon,” I stated, after dialing my ex-assistant’s number. He had been the one helping me all this while, to find out clues to bring Reyes down. Even though he wasn’t my assistant anymore, I called him from time-to-time. Seemed l
