Sierra

Lying in bed, staring at the ceiling, I can’t fall asleep. I am exhausted, but my body won’t let me rest. It seems to be on high alert after what happened with Ambrose. Every time I close my eyes, I see the blood on his clothes, and my mind goes to the worst scenarios. I believe him when he said he would never hurt me, yet I can’t stop worrying. What was he doing tonight? Who did he hurt? Is my father or I the reason behind it? What is he not telling me? There are too many questions and not enough answers. But it makes me want out of here more.

The sound of Ambrose coming upstairs pulls me from my thoughts. He has been working out for an hour and a half. Who works out at this time of the morning for that long? A madman is who. I stay silent and still, hoping he will pass straight by my room. He doesn’t. He stops outside and pushes the door open.

“Are you asleep, Sierra?” he asks.

“No.”

The word slips from my lips before I can stop it. I planned on pretending to be sleeping. I m

SierraThe last, however long, have been the longest of my life. All the noise outside, the yelling, the gunshots are too much. I am on the floor, with my hands over my ears, rocking back and forth, squealing with the sound of every shot. All while making sure Ambrose doesn’t bleed out. My stress is through the roof, and I am so close to passing out and hoping it will all go away.Silence falls from the outside. No voices. No gunshots.“Sierra, please come here,” Ambrose says, his voice is quieter, hoarse almost. It panics me, and I rush over, making sure he is okay. The bleeding has eased, but not stopped.“Ambrose, are you okay? Are you dizzy? Tired? Going to pass out?”I don’t know what a gunshot can do to a person, even if he told me he isn’t in any danger. He has still lost a lot of blood.“I am okay. Are you?” he asks, leaning forward and caressing my face.I whimper, shaking my head. “No. I want out of here. I want someone with medical training to take care of you. I need all o

AmbroseI stumble into the safe room, locking it up behind me in case they come in. There are four of them around my property. I took some of them down, but I don’t know how many or how much damage I caused. The blood pours from my arm, the pain excruciating. Luckily, the only bullet that hit me was through and through. It shouldn’t be life-threatening. It hasn’t hit any deadly arteries.Sierra rushes from behind the sofa straight to me. “Oh my God, are you okay? I was so worried. Wait, were you shot? We need to get you medical care.” She panics, staring at the blood I am covered in.“I am fine. It is only my arm. It went in and out. I don’t need medical care. They would ask too many questions.”“I don’t care if they will ask too many questions, you have been shot, Ambrose.” She whimpers, tears streaming down her cheek.“Please take me to the sofa. I need you to clean it and dress it for me.”“What, no. I can’t do that. I am not a professional. I don’t know what I am doing.” She prote

SierraI head straight to my room after my shower. I don’t even say goodnight to Ambrose. We got what we needed. There is no need for us to spend any longer together. Collapsing down on the bed, my towel still around me, I am exhausted. I stare at the ceiling for ten minutes before putting my pjs on and drying my hair. Ambrose tired me out. I will sleep well tonight. I’m not sure how I'll spend the rest of my time here. I can’t keep falling into bed with him out of boredom. It will only end in disaster.I settle into bed, bundling under the covers. It is cold tonight. I begin to drift off, but get abruptly woken by Ambrose barging into my room.“What the hell?”“I need you to come with me right now.”“To where?” I whine, switching the light on.When I do, I see a gun in one hand. His brows are furrowed, his body tense. Seeing him like that puts me into panic mode.“Somewhere safe. The sensors around the property keep going off. I can’t see anything on the cameras. It could be an anima

AmbroseI sit next to Sierra, a smug look on my face as she lies next to me, a hot mess. I lick my lips, still tasting her, groaning. Her chest heaves, and her gorgeous body gleams with sweat as she struggles to catch her breath. And I got her that way only with my tongue and fingers.Opening her eyes, she glances up at me. “Don’t look so damn smug.”“I will look smug if I like. You are a mess, and that is without me even fucking you.”She rolls her eyes. “If you don’t get that stupid look off your face, I will climb out of this bed, walk away, and you will be left with your hard cock.” She states firmly, smirking.A loud laugh erupts from my lips. “No, you won’t. You want my cock inside of you too much.”Her threat is bullshit. If she walked away, she would return soon because she would be craving my cock.Sierra scoffs. “Should we test that theory?”“Sure, let's. You wouldn’t last ten minutes before you came back.”With another eye roll, she climbs out of the bed, her legs nearly bu

SierraAmbrose carries me to his room. Should I be doing this again? No, but I can’t help myself. I am bored, a little tipsy and horny. He is the only one here. I have no shame in using him for what I need. He does it to other people all the time. I was pushing through fine until I stepped out onto the balcony and saw him working outside. The way his body and muscles moved every time he chopped, and the strength it took, stirred something in me. My hormones took control.Ambrose tosses me down on the bed, standing there and stares down at me. A primal look on his face, in his eyes. His joggers are bulging with his excitement. He pulls his tee off, tossing it aside. It isn’t too warm outside, but his body gleams with sweat from his work. I get on my knees, crawling towards him. I dance my fingertips down his chest. Ambrose closes his eyes, tensing and groaning under my touch. I smirk. No matter how much he is determined to hate me, a part of him wants me badly. I affect him more than h

  • Falling For My Ruthless Protector    Chapter Twenty-Seven

AmbroseI'm outside chopping wood for the fire before it becomes dark. The house and every gate around it will all be locked up tight before night takes over. We should be safe, but I will still ensure there is no way onto my property or into my house. I have guns if I need them. I have never used them before, hopefully, it will stay that way.Setting the axe down, I wipe the sweat from my forehead and take a breather. I forgot how much energy and muscle it used to do this. I am not as young as I once was. I get the sudden urge that someone is watching me. I glance around, but at first, I can't see anyone. The feeling doesn't shift. I look up at the balcony, finding whose eyes they belong to. Sierra is out on it, resting over the bannisters with a glass of wine in one hand. How long has she been up there and watching me?Sierra has been avoiding me. I have barely seen her since we arrived. She only made appearances if she was hungry or needed a drink. All while not speaking a word to
