She frowned. This was unusual. The maids in Vincenzo’s house were always quiet, always discreet. They never gossiped like this, certainly not where anyone could hear them. They were too professional, too disciplined.

She paused near the elegant archway to the east hall, listening, trying to make sense of the strange atmosphere. She caught a few words.

“…the new maid he brought back…”

“…so young…”

“…I think she’s a bit older than ma’am daisy…”

“…didn’t expect the boss to bring in someone else so soon…”

“…maybe she’s really just a charity case…”

Her brow furrowed deeper. A "new maid"? The words puzzled her, stirring a faint sense of unease.

Daisy made her way directly to the kitchen. She knew she’d get answers there, and from the one person who never sugarcoated anything, who always spoke her mind, even to Vincenzo himself.

Maria.

As expected, the housekeeper was there. She stood beside the large counter, a clipboard clutched firmly in one hand, her usual no-nonsense expression firmly i

Daisy POVArianna hesitated for half a second, her eyes flickering with something unreadable. Then, she turned and quietly made her way back towards the kitchen. When I turned around, I found Vincenzo watching me… his phone forgotten, his eyes were gleaming with a knowing glint, an amusement I couldn't quite decipher.“What?” I asked, arching an eyebrow, trying to appear unfazed, though my heart was still thumping. He stepped closer, slipped an arm around my waist and pulled me towards him, firmly, until our bodies were completely touching.“I just realized how sexy you look when you take control.” His voice was low, laced with a little teasing and a hint of admiration. “For a moment I thought you were jealous.”I rolled my eyes, pretending to be annoyed, but a genuine smile tugged at the corners of my lips. “Whatever.”But my cheeks burned, a warm flush spreading across my face. I didn’t even try to deny what he said.I walked ahead of him towards the front door, my chin held high. M

Daisy’s POV It’s been a week since she moved in. Arianna. She has this delicate presence… the kind that makes people want to protect her, to shield her from the world. All soft steps and whispery responses, always lowering her lashes like the world’s just too bright for her fragile self. I might have believed it too, if I hadn’t caught the look in her eyes when she thought no one was watching. It was the kind of look that lingers a second too long on a man who isn’t hers. It’s a look that holds a clear message. The kind of look that says she wants him. And not just want. It’s worse than that. It says she intends to have him. But Vincenzo is mine. I know how that sounds. It probably sounds very possessive, maybe even a little bit crazy. Borderline insane, as people would say. But it’s the honest truth, and I won’t say sorry for it. I don’t care what anyone thinks about it. Not him. Not her. Not even myself on more rational days. He’s mine. Whatever this complicated thing is bet

Daisy stepped out of the small café where she and Dante had shared lunch. Her fingers tugged absently at the strap of her purse as she walked toward the edge of the sidewalk, planning to head back to Vincenzo’s estate. She was almost at the corner, just a few steps away from turning, when she heard her name.“Daisy.”The voice halted her.She turned slowly, already knowing who it was.Dante stood just a few feet behind her. His hands were pushed deep into his coat pockets, making his shoulders look a little slumped. The lines on his face, especially around his eyes and mouth, seemed deeper now, showing worry. His jaw was tight, as if he had been holding back his thoughts for a long time, and now they were finally about to spill out.“Are you really going back there?” he asked, his voice low, filled with a mix of disbelief and frustration. She let out a slow breath. “Yes, Dante. I’m going back to Vincenzo.”He shook his head, a clear sign of his disapproval. “Why do you keep doing thi

She jumped to her feet. Her eyes immediately fixed on him. “Y-Yes. I’m feeling much better, sir. Thank you… for saving me.” Her voice was small, trembling slightly with gratitude and fear.He gave a curt nod. “Good. My driver will take you home.” His tone held no emotion. He had helped her, and now his involvement was over. But before he could turn and walk away. She reached out, her hand clutched his with surprising desperation. Her head was bowed, her shoulders hunched, and her fingers trembled against his skin.“Please,” she whispered, her voice barely audible. “Don’t send me away. I have nowhere else to go. I can work for you. I know how to cook, clean… anything. Just… Please don’t send me back out there.” Her words tumbled out.Vincenzo pulled his hand away, slowly but firmly, creating a clear boundary. “Don’t touch me again,” he said coldly, his voice devoid of empathy. Then he tilted his head, his gaze piercing, scrutinizing her. “Who were those men? Why don’t you have anywhere

Vincenzo was in his study, a large, quiet room filled with books. He sat behind his big desk, a cigarette held loosely between his fingers, its tip glowing red and burning slowly. The air in the room was filled with the faint scent of tobacco. Daisy walked in, but he didn't look up right away. Only the soft scrape of her shoes on the shiny hardwood floor made him slowly lift his head.“I’m heading out,” she said, her arms loosely crossed in front of her. She stood a little nervously, waiting for his reaction. “My brother, Dante, just got back from a trip, and I haven’t seen him in a long time.” Her voice was calm, but there was an underlying tension, as if she was bracing herself for his response.Vincenzo’s eyes narrowed slightly at the mention of her brother’s name. “Dante,” he muttered, almost like a curse, the name tasting bitter on his tongue. Then, he spoke louder, “That brother of yours… Did he do anything to help you when your father treated you like garbage?” The sudden, hars
