The punishment

The ringtone of the phone sounded loud in the quiet room, and Charles groaned in annoyance. It was Saturday, and he had no intention to wake up early. He pressed his ears with the pillow and kept sleeping, totally avoiding the phone call. He didn’t even check the caller. The phone stopped ringing after a while, only to ring again. Charles’s irritation piqued, and he thought about scolding the person. He reached out to take the phone from the side table and looked at the caller ID, only to see Aidan’s number. 

Charles’s eyes grew wide, and he sat upon the bed frantically. He didn’t have time to think of anything and answered the call, “Hello.”

“Someone is hospitalized because of you, and you are sleeping peacefully! Come to the Lifecare hospital right now.”
