Lily held her mobile phone and stared at the screen, her eyes fixed on the words "Call Ended" as she tried to process why Lewis had cut her call so abruptly. She felt a pang of concern and confusion, wondering if he was upset with her.

Her mind wandered back to their encounter at the restaurant today. She had been overwhelmed by the grand gesture Lewis had made for her birthday, booking the entire restaurant and ordering all her favorite dishes. The gift he had given her was something she had always dreamed of, and she had been touched by his thoughtfulness.

But despite his efforts, Lily had suddenly felt suffocated and had excused herself, leaving Lewis alone at the table. She hadn't meant to hurt him, but she had needed some space to process her emotions.

Now, as she looked at her phone, Lily couldn't help but wonder if she had hurt Lewis's feelings more than she had realized. Was he upset because she had left the restaurant without explanation? Did he feel rejected or unappreciated?

Lily's thoughts swirled with uncertainty as she tried to read between the lines. She had grown close to Lewis in recent days, and she valued their friendship. The thought of hurting him was unbearable, and she hoped that he would forgive her if indeed she had caused him any pain.

With a mix of emotions, Lily decided to try calling Lewis back, hoping to clear the air and make things right between them. She took a deep breath, her heart pounding slightly as she waited for him to answer.

She waited for what felt like an eternity, her heart sinking when she heard the call connect, only to be rejected once more. The words "Call Ended" flashed on her screen again, and Lily felt a pang of disappointment and worry.

Why was Lewis avoiding her? Had she hurt him that much? Lily's mind was filled with questions and doubts as she stared at her phone, unsure of what to do next.

Lily's attention shifted from her phone to the sound of the doorbell ringing through the silent halls of the Gray mansion. She checked the time on her phone, and her eyes widened as she saw it was already midnight. Who could be visiting at this hour?

The mansion, once filled with the warmth and laughter of the Gray family, now felt empty and vast, with Lily living alone in its sprawling spaces. After Robert and Margrate Gray had handed over the reins to her, they had retired to their dream house, leaving Lily to navigate the solitude of the grand estate.

Lily didn't like having staff or people around to do her work, preferring the independence and quiet that came with living alone. She valued her alone time and wasn't keen on having anyone else around.

The doorbell rang again, its chime echoing through the hallway. Lily's curiosity was piqued, and she wondered who could be visiting at such a late hour. She made her way to the entrance, her footsteps quiet on the plush carpet. As she approached the door, she hesitated for a moment, wondering if she should answer it. But her curiosity got the better of her, and she peered through the peephole to see who was on the other side.

Lily's eyes widened in shock as she peered through the peephole and saw Sarah standing on her porch; Lily's mind reeled as she tried to process what she was seeing. What was Sarah doing here, at midnight, at her home?

Lily opened the door, her expression cold and unforgiving. Sarah looked into her eyes and said, "I need to ask you something. Can I come in?"

Lily raised an eyebrow, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "Did Ethan know you were here? What if I kill you and your child?" She stepped aside, her gesture a mix of reluctant permission and veiled threat.

Sarah walked past Lily into the house without a word. Lily closed the door and turned to face her, her voice icy. "What do you want now, Sarah?"

Sarah's eyes locked onto Lily's, her voice steady. "I heard from Ethan that you said if I kill my unborn child, you wouldn't cancel my contract with Gray Enterprise."

Lily's expression didn't change. "Yes, I said that. What will you do now?"

Sarah took a step closer, her voice laced with desperation. "I'll abort this child. Please stop the cancellation process. I can't lose my career."

Lily's eyes widened in shock as she stared at Sarah. What kind of mother would consider aborting her child for the sake of her career? The thought sent a chill down Lily's spine.

Lily's eyes narrowed, her mind racing with the parallels between Sarah's situation and her own past with Ethan. "What? Are you really going to abort this child? What about Ethan?" she asked, her voice laced with a mix of confusion and disdain.

Sarah's expression remained firm, her voice unwavering. "That's not your concern. Will you cancel or not?"

Lily's thoughts turned bitter as she recalled Ethan's past actions. He had abandoned her, cheated on her, and divorced her, all while claiming to love Sarah. And now, Sarah was willing to abort their child for the sake of her career. The hypocrisy was staggering.

Lily's gaze locked onto Sarah's, a cold smile spreading across her face. "Oh, I think I'll let you sweat a little longer, Sarah. After all, Ethan did deserve someone like you." The unspoken message hung in the air, heavy with implication.

"Fine, I won't cancel the contract if you're willing to abort the child for your career," Lily said, her voice devoid of emotion.

Sarah's face lit up with relief, as if a weight had been lifted off her shoulders. "Thank you," she said firmly, before turning to leave.

Lily watched her go, her eyes fixed on Sarah's retreating back. She couldn't help but think about how desperate Sarah was, willing to sacrifice her own child's life for the sake of her modeling career. The thought sent a shiver down Lily's spine, and she wondered what kind of person would prioritize their career over their own flesh and blood.

Ethan stood in the conference room, flipping through the new product materials his team had prepared. Why would people buy our product to see them?"The production manager, who had been waiting for feedback, spoke up. "We tried to get some of the top models, but they're all busy right now. It's hard to get their dates, especially given our company's current... situation."Ethan's gaze snapped up, and he locked eyes with the manager.
