Lily held her mobile phone and stared at the screen, her eyes fixed on the words "Call Ended" as she tried to process why Lewis had cut her call so abruptly. She felt a pang of concern and confusion, wondering if he was upset with her.

Her mind wandered back to their encounter at the restaurant today. She had been overwhelmed by the grand gesture Lewis had made for her birthday, booking the entire restaurant and ordering all her favorite dishes. Lily opened the door, her expression cold and unforgiving. Sarah looked into her eyes and said, "I need to ask you something. Can I come in?"

Lily raised an eyebrow, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "Did Ethan know you were here? What if I kill you and your child?" She stepped aside, her gesture a mix of reluctant permission and veiled threat.

Sarah walked past Lily into the house without a word. Lily closed the door and turned to face her, her voice icy. "What do you want now, Sarah?"

Sarah's eyes locked onto Lily's, her voice steady. "I heard from Ethan that you said if I kill my unborn child, you wouldn't cancel my contract with Gray Enterprise."

Lily's expression didn't change. "Yes, I said that. What will you do now?"

Sarah took a step closer, her voice laced with desperation. "I'll abort this child. Please stop the cancellation process. I can't lose my career."

Lily's eyes widened in shock as she stared at Sarah. What kind of mother would consider aborting her child for the sake of her career? The thought sent a chill down Lily's spine.
