Daisy

I was still sitting on the bed, legs pulled up to my chest, picking at the thread on the corner of my blanket. I hadn’t even realized how long I’d been staring at nothing until a soft knock pulled me out of my head.

I blinked, then slowly got off the bed, dragging my feet toward the door. It was definitely Hope, bringing my food to me. I heard the doorbell not quite long so I know she got the delivery already.

I opened the door and saw Jack standing there. He had a food box in one hand and the other tucked in his pocket. He smiled when he saw me but I could tell he was smitten by me. He was trying hard to act normal but the look on his face betrayed him. At one point the smile turned a little uncertain, like he wasn’t sure if I’d slam the door in his face or invite him in.

Of course it was Hope. She definitely called him here. When she left earlier, she gave me that look she gives when she’s cooking up something. I’d rolled my eyes at her, but deep down, I knew she wasn’t going

  • Falling for my Billionaire Crush   Nice to see you again, Daisy…

DaisyAfter my dad left, I couldn’t sleep. I just sat there, cross-legged on the edge of the bed, staring at the blank wall in front of me like it might suddenly give me answers.I pulled my knees up and rested my chin on them, trying to calm the whirlwind spinning in my chest. I’d cried so much in the last couple of days I didn’t think I had any tears left. But they still came and in no time, my face was soaked with tears. My phone was on the nightstand. I’d charged it earlier, even though I hadn’t touched it since dinner. I had been feeling the urge to call Tony but I didn’t want to do that so I just left it on airplane mode. That way, he can’t reach me and I can’t either. I only texted Hope at the restaurant and told her I was home. I reached for my phone and opened Notes and then started typing away.“Tuesday – 2:09 AMWhat do you do when you feel like you’re being asked to give up your future just to save everyone else?”I stared at the blinking cursor for a while.“I love my d

  • Falling for my Billionaire Crush   A strange suitor…

DaisyThe moment I stepped out of the arrivals gate and saw my parents standing there, I broke. All of my worries vanished in an instant. My dad was the first to spot me. He held a bouquet so big it nearly covered his face, but the second our eyes met, he dropped it slightly and opened his arms wide like he’d been waiting his whole life for this exact moment.I didn’t even realize I was crying until I was buried in his chest and I couldn’t stop shaking.“My baby girl,” he whispered, holding me so tightly like he was scared someone would try to take me away again. “Oh God, look at you… look at my baby girl.”“I missed you, Daddy, so much.” I mumbled into his shirt, my voice muffled and messy. He kissed the side of my head and kept rocking me side to side like I was five again. And oh my God, I really needed that.My mom finally came around and wrapped her arms around both of us, her kiss landing somewhere on my cheek between tears and curls. “You’re so skinny,” she said, half-laughi

  • Falling for my Billionaire Crush   Forget about me!

Tony“Daisy,” I called out, my voice low but firm as I stepped closer. Her smile dropped the second she turned and saw me. Her whole body tensed like a wave had just crashed into her chest.“Tony?” she let out, blinking and obviously so stunned. The guy beside her looked confused, maybe a little curious. I didn’t even acknowledge him, he wasn't my business. I was too focused on Daisy and my eyes were locked on her.“Can we talk?” I said, my voice tight wjike her lips parted like she had a thousand things to say, but she shut them again quickly and nodded stiffly. “Let’s step aside,” she said, already moving toward the far end of the waiting area, away from the crowd. We ended up near one of those quiet, window-lined corners where no one really lingered. She dropped her bag gently beside her and crossed her arms.“Why are you here?” she asked, her voice calm, but there was nothing soft in her eyes. All I saw was hurt and anger, and that made me swallow hard.“Why are you leaving all

  • Falling for my Billionaire Crush   I can’t lose you, Daisy

TonyThe car was quiet except for the low hum of the AC and the faint sound of Charles still talking through the speaker.“Tony, if we don’t finalize this within the week, we risk losing the Shanghai deal. You know they’re already on edge after the delay.” He let out.Charles is one of the stakeholders in the company but we have been friends long before then, and we mostly work on projects together. I leaned back against the headrest, eyes half on the road, half on the spreadsheet I had open on my dashboard screen. “Charles, we’ll finalize it. But I’m not signing off until procurement finishes the cross-check. The last thing I want is to go back and forth over a decimal.” I let out sternly.“We’ve been going back and forth for two weeks,” he muttered.“And we’ll go two more if it means we don’t hand them something half-baked,” I said sharply. “I’m not in the mood to babysit another PR disaster because people were too impatient to do their damn jobs right.” I retorted and he sighed.

  • Falling for my Billionaire Crush   Peace at last…

Daisy The second I closed the door behind me, I let out the biggest sigh of the night.“Peace at last…” I muttered to myself as I leaned against the door for a moment, just breathing. The quiet of the room wrapped around me like a blanket, and I didn’t realize how much I needed it until I was away from the torture Hope and Ryan were throwing in my face. They kept giggling, smirking and then the flirty stares, oh my goodness… it was like they were acting their own version of the romance movie we saw earlier… and maybe in between, they forgot I was still sitting three feet away. They really thought I didn’t notice the sounds from under the table, or when Hope suddenly went quiet mid-chew because Ryan had slipped his hand somewhere down there. I saw everything and honestly, I’m all in for it. I love Hope and I’m genuinely happy she’s found someone who makes her feel like that. She really deserves it… but tonight, it felt like I was the only person in the room wearing a winter coat wh

  • Falling for my Billionaire Crush   Let’s stay like this forever…

Hope“What?” I said, louder than I meant to, but I couldn’t help it. My heart dropped the second Daisy said she was leaving. She gave me a soft look that she wears when she doesn’t want to argue but knows she’s about to anyway. “My dad called, he said it’s urgent and I have to come home.” She explained agsin while I stared at her for a second, trying to make sense of it. “Is it about work? I know you said you’re under the weather but I don’t know, I just have this feeling that you’re hiding something from me.” I let out while she hesitated, then shook her head slowly.“Trust me, I’m not hiding anything, I’m only going because my dad called.” I still didn’t believe her so I playfully rolled my eyes and let out a soft chuckle. “Dee, come on. I know you well enough, but since you’re not going to tell me, can you at least wait till my dad comes back. I’m sure he can fix whatever it is.” I assured her, knowing well it was about work. She’s probably having issues with her superiors and
