Hope

There was definitely something different about Daisy but I just couldn’t place it. Even after she said it was nothing and she was under the weather, I knew she wasn’t telling the truth. She looked worried about something and it’s odd that she didn’t tell me since we never keep things from each other.

“No problem, Dee, I know just the right solution for you.” I muttered to myself as I opened the door to my room and went in.

I crashed hard into the bed before balancing myself and then dialed Jack’s number.

“Hey Hope, what’s up?” He let out excitedly as his usual self.

“I’m good, how’s work going?” I asked.

“Good, I was even going to call you once I was done with this file. Daisy didn’t come to work today, what’s wrong? Is she okay?” He asked and I could hear the concern wrapped in love, in his voice.

“Well, I also called because of that. I just got home about thirty minutes ago and I found her in. She isn’t feeling too good and I don’t think she’d be coming. I called to let you k

  • Falling for my Billionaire Crush   I’m going to give him a chance!

Daisy The drive back was quiet and the mood in the car was so soft and still like the night itself was holding its breath.I sat with my hands folded in my lap, looking out the window as the streetlights painted golden streaks across the car. Liam didn’t say much, but his presence comfortably filled the space between us. At some point, I pretended to be sleeping just so he wouldn’t talk to me. It wasn’t like I didn’t want to talk to him or anything, I just didn’t know if he would stop at a simple harmless conversation or go further and talk about us and honestly, I didn’t know if I was ready to talk about it.“Hey…” he let out softly while I opened my eyes and looked up. He was just finally pulled up in front of my house then. He turned the engine off and didn’t make a move to open the door just yet.“I had a really nice time tonight,” he said, voice low and genuine while I turned to face him. The lights from the dashboard lit up his face just enough for me to see the way he was w

  • Falling for my Billionaire Crush   Just this night

DaisyLiam didn’t keep me waiting long, barely two minutes after I sent the text, my phone buzzed.“Thank you, Daisy. I know I don’t deserve this chance, but I promise I won’t disappoint you. Don’t worry about the address. Just dress up and be ready by 6pm. I’ll send a car to pick you up.”I exhaled, staring at the message while a part of me was tempted to roll my eyes at the whole “just dress up” mystery vibe, but another part of me… the softer, messier, hopeful part… kind of liked it.Still, I kept my expectations low. That was my emotional defense mechanism now… I’m not going to hope too much, or lean in too fast, and definitely won’t assume anything means more than it is…I spent most of the afternoon pacing around the house, avoiding my phone, avoiding my reflection, avoiding my parents’ curious glances. My mom was obviously trying to keep herself from asking too many questions, but she hovered more than usual. Around five in the evening, I finally got up from bed and started dr

  • Falling for my Billionaire Crush   An honest shot…

DaisyI woke up feeling... dull. I wasn’t exactly sad, but I was not okay either. I was just sort of suspended like I was in a space between feelings, waiting to land somewhere solid. The room was quiet except for the soft hum from outside. I laid there for a while, staring up at the roof, trying to piece my thoughts together but they kept scattering the moment I tried to hold onto them.Eventually, I peeled myself out of bed and headed to the bathroom to wash up. The cold splash of water on my face helped, but only a little. I looked at myself in the mirror and barely recognized the mess of emotions swimming in my eyes.By the time I got back into the room, towel still wrapped around my head, my phone buzzed on the nightstand.I checked and saw it was another text message from Liam.“Talk of the devil…” I thought to myself as I swiped to the side and opened the message.“Good morning, Daisy. I expected a response from you last night but none came. I actually understand you don’t want

  • Falling for my Billionaire Crush   I’m not some helpless pawn in your game

Daisy I had just finished patting in the last of my moisturizer when my phone buzzed beside the bed. I sighed, half-expecting it to be another ramdom email, but when I picked it up and saw Liam’s name and I immediately rolled my eyes. Why is he even texting me? - I thought to myself as I clicked on the text and read it.“Hey… I know I probably ruined everything, and I’ve said I’m sorry already. But please, give me a chance to make it up to you. I know I’m probably the last person you want to go out with at the moment but if you could just give me this chance to prove to you that I only have true intentions for you. Go out on a date with me tomorrow evening, and this time there are no strings or conditions attached. No pressure either. I just want to spend time with you and show you how much I care about you. You mean a lot to me, Daisy, let me show you.”I stared at the message for a long minute. My heart felt like it was doing backflips… angry flips, confused flips, and the annoying

  • Falling for my Billionaire Crush   Enough of waiting…

OliviaI don’t know if it was the way he held the door for me like he always did, or the way he brushed his palm against the small of my back without even thinking but something about today made me believe maybe, I had a real shot.I had played it cool for months… just smiles, light teasing, longer glances when he wasn’t looking but nothing stuck. Jack was either oblivious or deliberately playing dumb, and honestly, I couldn’t tell which was worse. But I’d had enough of waiting, I’m not going to sit around hoping for him to read my mind. That was why I took the chance today and asked that we go out for lunch. I was going to take a no for an answer too because I already made some plans like booking for table reservations.Once we entered, one of the waiters So I took a chance led us to our table. I specifically asked for one near the window, low lighting, and not too loud. Just enough distance from the main crowd to feel like something more than coworkers grabbing lunch.Jack sat down

  • Falling for my Billionaire Crush   Can’t stop thinking about her…

JackI stared at my phone for the third time in ten minutes, wishing it would beep even once and Daisy’s face would lit up the screen. I was desperate for a call or text from her but I got nothing. I stare hard again as if that would magically summon her but still, there was nothing. I had tried to send her messages but there has been no response or even delivery ticks.I tried not to overthink it and told myself she was probably just taking time to breathe, to process whatever it was that had her spiraling since the night we kissed. But it had been days since I was at the house to see her, and her line had been switched off the whole time. And Daisy isn’t the kind of person to keep mute for this long. She hadn’t even been to work in days and I’ve been covering for her. I don’t even mind doing that for her, I’m just worried about her. I leaned back in my chair, rubbed my palms over my face, and let out a sigh. I’ve given her enough space, staying away for longer would only make me a
