I put the second note on his desk and stepped back.

He picked it up, read it, set it down and looked at me and honestly I was already tired of this man and the conversation hadn't even started yet.

"Did you tell anyone else?"

"No," I said. "Did you put it there?"

He looked at me. "No."

"Then someone has been in my locked room while I was in that forest Lorenzo and they knew exactly when I'd be gone and I want to know who it is."
