Chapter 17

“Stand still.” Ethan whisper-yelled into my ears. He held me securely between his hands and slowly leaned me to the wall. I rested my head against the hard metal plate behind my head and clutched my hair to stop the hallucinogenic effect my head was having on my system.

As soon as Ethan’s hands left my body, my knees bent and my butt collided with the ground beneath. I yelped in pain as Ethan left a frustrated sigh.

“Remind me why I ever agreed to go with you.” He said as he knelt before me.

“And remind me why I ever agreed to marry you.” I scowled on his face.

We were standing outside his house, actually sitting now, as Ethan tried to open the door. He couldn’t multitask so he failed to manage me in his arm and opened the door with another.

“Actually, you didn’t agree.” He gave me a bored smile and got up. I pulled my legs together and rested my chin on it while he fished the keys out of his pocket.

When the door unlocked, he looked down at me. “You staying there for the night?”
