A half-hour later, we sat down across from each other with our breakfast before us. I grabbed a cup of free yoghurt and pushed my spoon into it. Taking a spoonful of it into my mouth, I looked at him.“What are you up to?” I asked him.He stopped chowing his food and looked are me puzzled. “I was about to ask you if you wanted any syrup with that cereal-”I rolled my eyes. “Not that, like, in life.”His shoulder rose and fell back down in a shrug. “I don’t know. I’m going to sign a few projects soon, and I’ll be having a movie get out in the cinemas real soon-”“Zac,” I warned him. “Don’t act like you don’t know what I’m talking about. I’m staying inside your house and having breakfast although I planned on showing myself off in the outside so that I can really talk to you about stuff that is important.”He sighed and looked up at me. “Tell me what you want to know.”“You do realise that Lana and Kyle are married right?” I said. “And there is a very slight possibility of them getting
There were very little people that noticed me when I walked inside. They were probably not used to women walking in with a pair of striped shorts and an off-shoulder top with a sling bag hanging loose at the side of the waist, while the free hand clutched the phone. As I passed by a few cubicles, my eyes couldn’t help but land on the many office notes that had their CEO’s and his wife’s (who unfortunately had to be me) pictures and congratulation messages. It made me wonder why people had a very confused look on their faces when they were aware of who I was. Or maybe, I indeed caught them off guard by making an abrupt appearance. I walked straight to the reception and shot the man behind the counter one of my brightest smiles.“Hi, I’m here to meet your CEO,” I said, tapping my nails against the desk. The man behind seemed irked by my casual behaviour and lack of professionalism. He frowned at my fingers that were playing against the desk and looked back up at me with an unappreciativ
Later that afternoon, when the press conference has finally come to an end, I was reluctant to just let him attend one of his meetings. But I knew I couldn’t push him further, keeping in mind what the consequences could be so I let his driver drop me home.I felt my phone ring in the back pocket of my shorts and quickly answered it.“You guys are unbelievable! How the fuck am I ever going to arrange for a gown in a freaking day?” Jen cried“What the- Jen, give me my phone back. I called her.” Jordan’s voice rang behind in the background.“What, Fuck. Put some clothes on, you idiot. That won’t turn me on!” Jen said.“Jen-” I tried to speak.“Hey, Skylar. What are your plans for tonight? I’m really hungry and I was planning maybe-” Jordan said but was instantly cut off.“Give this thing to me! Hello! Skylar, can you hear? For the love of God, Lana didn’t tell you about the surprise, right? If she did, then it’s going to be such a disaster-”“Babe, you’re telling her everything!” Jordan
I quickly grabbed the shirt he was going to wear tonight and spilled some of my perfume on it. I know it’s nothing compared to what he did to me in the morning but I at least was doing something about it.When he came out of the bathroom, I already reminded my brain to not look at his indecent body and quickly averted my gaze away from his chest. Nevertheless, I couldn’t help.I quickly went inside the bathroom and filled the tub. However, the asshole already used up all the hot water. I peeled the clothes off and looked for the bubbles to add. To my horror, there was absolutely nothing in the bottles. I opened all the bottles only to find them all devoid of anything worthy of cleaning my body.“Ethan!” I yelled from inside.“Yea?” I heard him.“What in the world did you do to my body wash and soap and shampoo and conditioner and everything else?” I said in anger.“I can’t hear you, can I walk inside?” I knew he was trying not to laugh at me.I gaped at his words and quickly grabbed m
“What a show that was.” Jen squealed, digging her nails into my skin in excitement.“You know he did thaat because the media was around.” I rolled my eyes at her.She narrowed her eyes. “Don’t roll your eyes at me. I know you liked it too.”Upon my greeting with my silence, she continued.“How did it feel?” She said, pointing to my stomach. “Butterflies?”“Are you guys depressed about lack of romance in your love life? Do you want me to have a session with the boys?” I asked her. Why was everyone so interested in my love life??“Why would we? If anything, we’re over the edge of having a baby!” She laughed.“Then why is everyone excited over getting us back together like you guys are some depressed single-since-sixteen-years girls?” I said, trying hard to not glare at her. I don’t want pictures that I’d regret to have on Internet clicked right now.“Hey, first of all, we aren’t excited about this because of a lack of romance in our love life. And secondly, we’re just really good friend
A few minutes later, the five of us, Lana, Stella, Cassidy, Lucy, Jen, and I sat and stared at our drinks. I wasn’t in the mood for it so I let Jen order for both of us.I don’t know what got over me, but the urge to get some alcohol into my system seemed so necessary. I didn’t wait for the girls and took my drink and gulped it in one shot.It tasted different.“Hey, what did you order for me?” I asked Jen.“Ugh, that was my drink!” Cassidy scowled at me.I rolled my eyes and took another glass and gulped it down. The liquid tasted bitter. I didn’t pay heed to what they were talking to themselves about and went with the drinks. I know Jen would be mad at me for not waiting for them to halt their conversation, but I was too reckless to consider that. I needed the drinks.“Okay, I think it’s enough.” Cassidy stopped me from having the fourth one. What’s her problem now? “You’re going to pass out if you take his one and ruin my plan.”“What plan?” I asked her, irked by how she wasn’t eve
"I’m fine. Leave me alone.”Ethan let me be, but he had an unsatisfied look on his face. I pinched him on the elbow and grabbed his attention.“I want another beer,” I said.Ethan looked at me with confused eyes. “You don’t like Beer.”“You remember?” I asked, dramatically widening my eyes. Back in high school, Ethan always asked for some beer just so he could irritate me. I can’t believe he remembers it.He didn’t respond. “Why do want a beer? Are you really-”“Skylar, here.” Jen grabbed my attention. “You told me you wanted to have cranberry juice. Here.”I looked at her with confusion. “I didn’t want cranberry. I want a beer.”“No!” Lucy said while Jen looked like she was dying to kill me. “You wanted cranberry. Now drink it.”“Why are you girls forcing her? Seriously, she can have whatever she wants!” Jordan said.“No, she can’t have a beer. She’s just having a juice.” Stella said.“Babe, don’t get-” Ben tried to talk to her.“Skylar.” Ethan turned to me seriously. “Why are you ac
“Stand still.” Ethan whisper-yelled into my ears. He held me securely between his hands and slowly leaned me to the wall. I rested my head against the hard metal plate behind my head and clutched my hair to stop the hallucinogenic effect my head was having on my system. As soon as Ethan’s hands left my body, my knees bent and my butt collided with the ground beneath. I yelped in pain as Ethan left a frustrated sigh.“Remind me why I ever agreed to go with you.” He said as he knelt before me.“And remind me why I ever agreed to marry you.” I scowled on his face.We were standing outside his house, actually sitting now, as Ethan tried to open the door. He couldn’t multitask so he failed to manage me in his arm and opened the door with another.“Actually, you didn’t agree.” He gave me a bored smile and got up. I pulled my legs together and rested my chin on it while he fished the keys out of his pocket. When the door unlocked, he looked down at me. “You staying there for the night?”I gl
