Ross and the rest of the hunters led us to a house, similar to the ones we had seen before, in the middle of nowhere. It was the only one amongst long trees and grasses. We were told to wait and we’d be attended to soon. They offered us coffee, biscuits, human food. My brother and I, along with my guards declined respectively, but Ellemea had worked up quite the appetite and ate for all of us.

We were being watched. I could sense that there was a presence more than just us in the house. Ross and the other hunters had left us claiming that their work had ended. I glanced at the wooden staircase, decorated with a Persian rug, but I saw nothing, or at least no one.

Maybe I was being paranoid.
