DANTE
As her tears fell down in heaps, I felt an emotion that seemed to be a recurring decimal when I’m around her-guilt. It pierced my dead heart badly and it hurt to see her cry. I thought she would have protested to me prying into her private life, but to my surprise, she was open and honest about everything.
She was an orphan, just like me. She lost her parents when she was young, too young to know anything of this world, just like me, but unlike me, she didn’t have a support system, someone who would help her unburden her grief and sorrow. When my parents died of the bubonic plague back then, I was at least adopted by Ambrose who had saved me from the hands of my brute uncle.
Kira however had no one. She was forced into slavery at the tender age of thirteen and in a way, it’s my fault. The vampire takeover caused her pain and I wished, if I had known her, that I could have done something to help her. In beneath the tears, I could feel her
KIRAA knock on my door woke me up by seven am. It was Thomas and he reminded me that I had training today. I don’t know how I got to my room last night. The last thing I remember was falling asleep on Prince Dante’s chest.Wait did he bring me up here?I blushed a little at the thought of him carrying me to my room in his arms, but quickly brushed that thought away so that I’d get ready. I settled for something comfortable-dark spanx, camisole and sneakers. After my quick shower, I headed down stairs. I made a turn to the dining area and realized that no one was there. I saw some servants coming in and out of the kitchen, huffing and puffing, but they paid me no mind. The foods were neatly arranged on the table and I for one was one hungry human. As I settled down to grab a bagel, a throat cleared rather loudly. “I wouldn’t do that if I were you. You do recall that you have training.”I turned around in ti
KIRA “He’s here. Prince Dante is approaching.” In the distance, I could see a figure walking towards us. Zander motioned for me to get up and I did, albeit with apprehension. As the figure moved closer, I could make out that it was really Prince Dante. He had on a similar attire to Zander’s, the only difference was instead of a turtle-neck, he was clad in a shirt that showed off his arms and lean muscles. The cotton material hugged his body like a second skin, showing every inch and curve. These creatures are literally flawless and Prince Dante was no exception. He glistened with the sun, almost like the heavens had made it specifically for him. I shouldn’t even be having thoughts like this about my Master, but I can’t help it. He said he could feel my emotions; I wonder if he could feel my heart racing as he was approaching. If he could read my thoughts, then it was endgame for me because that would be awkward and embarrassing. He walked with grace and confidenc
DANTEKira was a determined student.Sure she may not be as sturdy as my guards, but she was trying her best and is in fact a quick learner. We had been here for three hours and I had taught her attack mechanisms and the various ways to hold weapon properly. I also taught her the strengths and weaknesses of the various clans. My methods were rigorous and tasking but it was worth it.“Again,” I instructed. Kira was panting; beads of sweat were dripping down her face in heaps. Her clothing was soaked with even more sweat but she wasn’t complaining. She gripped the branch in her hand lightly, just like I had taught her and held the weapon mid-air. Next, she rushed towards me with fire in her eyes, ready for an attack. I blocked her first strike, aiming for my chest and she tried again. I tried to grab the branch away from her by incapacitating her hands but she stomped my foot with her sneakers.“Dirty trick,” I said with a smir
DANTEDANTEShe held my wrist, gripping on it for dear life. However this was no ordinary grip. A human’s grip should not have this much power in its hold. I could feel my bones shrinking, then I heard a crack that sent me straight to my knees.Shit that hurt.“Kira,” I said, slightly in pain. “Let me go.”When I looked up to finally meet her eyes, the Kira I knew was no longer there. Her blue eyes were shining, just like titanium, almost to the point that it was blinding. Her hair was also glistening brighter the sun and she had a smirk on her face, the kind that sent chills down your spine. She looked like a goddess, an other-worldly being and she was twisting my wrist.Who the fuck is this?“Kira,” I said again, but she paid me no mind. It was almost like she was possessed by someone or something. I tried to struggle away from her grip, but it was useless.“Kira!” I boome
KIRAI had hurt Prince Dante and I had no recollection of what had transpired between us. I saw the marks, the bruises on his pale skin. We were the only ones in the training field so there was no way anyone else could have done it, but me.But why? And How?Like I had related to Prince Dante, the last thing I remembered was him charging towards me. Then something or someone took control over my body and everything went blank. It felt like I wasn’t on earth anymore, if that made any sense. When I eventually did come to my senses, I realized that I might as well have signed my own death sentence. He told me that those were my powers manifesting. I almost laughed at how ludicrous that sounded. I looked at my hands, the lines both straight and crooked. There was no way I had those powers he claimed.Me? Strong enough to cause serious damage to a vampire? That was laughable. But as unbelievable as it
DANTE The day had finally arrived. I was going into the lion’s den with guns blazing. Despite several warnings and concerns, I was going into werewolf territory to meet Orville, the newly appointed Alpha. The stage had already been set thanks to Ellemea and he had agreed to talk. I put the finishing touches on my suit in the throne room and heard a knock. “Come in.” Zander walked in and bowed. “My Lord, everyone is waiting for your lead. The witch Ellemea is also present, along with a special guest.” “Oh?” “He requests to see you.” “Let him in.” “As you please.” The doors to the throne room closed and then reopened again. The clanking of the shots on the marble floor drew my attention until the silhouette could be visible. “I like what you’ve done with the place, brother
“Alright, what’s the plan?”Ellemea and I turned to Simeon who was looking at us expectantly. “Well, we need to get to the barrier?” Ellemea offered.“True,” I concurred. “But the real plan is to see how this war can be avoided.” My gaze fell to the basket on Ellemea’s lap. “What’s the basket for?”I could smell the contents and it was definitely meat.“A peace offering. There’s an old saying among the witches that if you’re going to meet your enemy, you extend the olive branch. Wolves love meat so what better way to show them that we want peace than by giving them that which they love?”“It’s animal meat?” Simeon asked.“Deer,” she confirmed. “I bred it myself.” That explained it because there are not a lot of wild animals in North America.
DANTE“The barrier took quite sometime to create, and it has proven its solidity over the years, but I have no idea how it was infiltrated,” Dahlia lamented as we looked up ahead, “I checked and there seemed to be no cracks or breaks. It’s almost like whoever murdered the vampire guards was a ghost.”“Well someone must have done it,” Ellemea said. “We banished all the ghosts to the Han River centuries ago.”“Right,” Dahlia answered, but her demeanour looked unsettled. “Anywho, off to wolf territory you go. I would open a small section of the barrier and on my mark, you all would jump in. It’s going to take a considerable amount of my mana which is why I need you all to follow my lead. I won’t be joining you all on this journey, I’m afraid.”Thank heavens.“Why?”“Someone has to be here to protect the barrier and watch over it in
