Trapped Belle(9)

19

When Belle got into the nanny car, Brandan was playing with his cell phone. At the sight of her, he closed his phone and put it away.

Something was off.

"What's the matter?" Belle drank the bottled water and asked, "How did it go?"

"Well... not bad," he stammered in a low voice.

Belle was a bit perplexed.

"I heard from the director that you two did an excellent job. You played your roles well," she said.

"I see," he whispered.

What was going on with him?

Belle couldn't figure out why Brandan was acting so weird.

She just let it go.

It wasn't until a week later when Brandan avoided making eye contact with her that she realize that something was off.

She saw that Brandan's chat wallpaper was a picture of Louis kissing him.

It hit her like a thunderbolt.

She thought, "Oh my gosh!

"It's not surprising that his fans keep this picture.

"Why did he keep it?"

"I'll be back late tonight, Belle," Brandan said to her after he put his phone in his pocket.

"Where are you going?" Belle asked as she was yet to recover from her shock.

Brandan was straight.

As for Louis, she knew better than anyone else that he was not gay.

She couldn't think straight now.

"I'm going to drink with my friends," he mumble as he reached the door.

"I got it," Belle responded.

In fact, she couldn't process what she had seen.

She rubbed her hands and paced back and forth anxiously, trying to figure out what was going on.

It occurred to her that Brandan hadn't complained that Louis didn't work with him recently. She thought that she had talked Louis into it since it was a win-win on both sides.

What was more, the video clips of the drama the photographer posted on the Internet did make a stir. More and more people paid attention to Louis and Brandan and wished that they were seeing each other.

There were some things that she didn't dare to think about. She just hoped that she was wrong.

Half an hour later, Belle felt more and more restless. She finally dialed Brandan's number.

A few seconds passed and there was still no one answering the phone.

She had a bad hunch and immediately called again.

This time, she finally got through to him.

"Hey, where are you now?" she asked immediately.

After a moment of silence, a magnetic voice came from the other end of the line.

"He went to the bathroom."

When she heard this voice, Belle's heart sink.

"They were really together," she thought with a frown.

"Where are you now? After saying that, she realized that her words might get him wrong. So she added, "He told me that he went to drink with you."

"She recognized my voice," Louis thought.

Even though he knew that she would call Brandan, he still felt upset when he found it was her calling.

Why was she so concerned about Brandan?

He shook the beer glass in his hand and asked in a low voice, "Are you coming?"

Belle pondered for a while, and then said, "I'm on the way."

Then, he gave her the pub address.

She took a taxi and headed towards that pub.

She was really worried when Brandan was with him.

She was worried that he would go crazy.

When he lost his senses in the past, he tied her up. Would he do the same to Brandan if he got out of his mind?

Just thinking about it made her hair stand on end.

She must be there. Even though she didn't know what Louis was up to, she had to be with Louis.

When she got there, she noticed that the room was full of men. She suddenly regretted coming here.

She felt a bit out of place here. She wanted to leave immediately.

She regretted being too paranoid and impulsive.

But she couldn't walk away.

After all, the people present were the directors and staff she would often meet on the filming location.

Her arrival took Brandan by surprise. He got her a chair and asked her to sit next to him.

Glancing at those people, she felt a headache. She had to remain a smile for so long that she almost had facial muscle spasms.

In addition, those who were into her for her beauty were present. After they drank a little, they showed their true colors.

Belle had no intention of getting a drink.

However, those men came to propose a toast to her one by one. She didn't know how to refuse them.

"Belle doesn't drink. I'll drink on her behalf," Brandan said as he kept the glasses from her.

After drinking six bottles of beer, he felt dizzy.

"That's enough. If you continue drinking, your face will get swollen and you can't shoot scenes tomorrow," Belle said to Brandan as she patted his back to make him feel better.

"I heard that Director Hanson has collected a lot of good wine." Louis, who had been silent, finally opened his mouth. "Those who are used to drinking wine won't like bear. Paul, go ask the owner here to get us some Whisky."

When he spoke, he looked calm and his voice was devoid of any emotions.

"My wine is not as good as your family's. I heard that Lawrence even has a wine cellar. That's cool," Riley Hanson said smugly when it came to wine.

"Oh, it seems that Director Hanson knows a lot about wine. I'll drink with you," Louis said.

After that, he stood up from his heat and filled his glass with liquor. Then he asked Paul to fill the glasses of those who had toasted Belle.

No one knew why he suddenly wanted to drink wine. They often drank beer. Hence, they seldom got boozed no matter how much they drank.

That was why they kept toasting Belle.

However, wine wasn't beer. No one dared drank it the way they drank beer.

After pouring the wine for Riley, he raised his glass, raised his head, and emptied the glass of wine with a swig.

"The filming progress was delayed because of me, so I'll punish myself with a glass of wine first," he said as put down the glass. "You can drink as much as you like."

Everyone was taken aback by his actions.

He was from the Reed family. The Reeds owned such a large enterprise that none of them could afford to mess with. Most importantly, he had come to film the drama with money and staff.

Everyone had to have respect for him. Now that he downed the wine in one swallow, they had no choice but to do the same.

One by one, they put on a masking smile and drained their wine in one go.

Most of those who had tried to get Belle drunk didn't dare harass her again as their faces turned red.

Louis chuckled and gestured for Paul to fill their glasses.

This time, everyone got scared.

He also poured himself a glass of wine and said, "Thank you for guidances and help."

After that, he emptied the glass of wine again.

And then he downed another glass of win.

He had no intention of stopping drinking.

Having already gotten intoxicated, Brandan was laying on the table unconscious.

Belle was also startled by the scene. It was hard to believe that he was such a drunk.

Seeing that those who tried to get her drunk had drunk so much reluctantly, she was in a good mood.

However, if they continued to drink like this, how could they do their job well tomorrow? At the thought of that, she knitted her eyebrows.

However, there was nothing she could do.

The people lay on the table unconscious, which left her in utter shock. Meanwhile, she was a little worried about Louis.

What on earth had he gone through? How did he become this good at drinking?

After she had those who had gotten bombed back to the hotel, Belle picked up her handbag and planned to return to the hotel.

Brandan had been taken to the hotel by his assistant.

Only Louis and Belle were sober.

She turned and found that he was still sitting in the chair holding his head in his hands.

It was hard to tell if he felt uncomfortable or dozed off.

"Are... are you okay?" she asked. She couldn't leave him behind like this.

Hearing her voice, he raised his head and stared at her silently. No one knew what was on his mind.

"Give me your phone. I'll call my other assistant and ask them to pick you up," she said.

He really drank too much.

Louis was stunned for a second. He obediently handed his phone to her and then fixed his eyes on her.

Belle felt a bit uncomfortable under his gaze. She took her phone and swiped the screen to unlock it but it required a password.

"What's your password?" Belle asked. But considering it concerned his privacy, she handed the phone back to him and said, "Unlock it and then I can call your assistant to get you back."

Louis lowered his head, looked at his phone and said, "I forgot it."

"What?" Belle said with bewilderment all over her face.

Did he get bombed?

"Try it again," she said.

"I can't remember," he continued with a pitiful look at her.

"Oh no. He must have drunk off his face. He's behaving so well that I didn't find he's drunk," she thought to herself.

"Stay put. I'm gonna get someone to pick you up," she said.

"Don't do that," he said as he stood up from his seat. He got up so fast that he lost his balance and sat down again.

"Can you call a taxi for me?" he said, looking into her eyes.

How could she refuse to do him that favor? He looked befuddled.

"Sure," Belle agreed. She made her way towards the door, but noticing that he didn't get up, she headed back to him. "Can you stand up on your own?"

"I can." This time, he slowly rose from his seat as he held the table. Seeing that she intended to give him a hand, he refused, "I got this."

He then distanced himself from her.

Belle was a bit shocked.

He was being such a gentleman now.

He got tipsy, yet he was quiet and didn't make trouble. He could think straight. The point was, he didn't have feelings for her, knowing to keep his distance.

This was a good thing for her.

Belle no longer resented him that much.

The two of them sauntered all the way to the curb and waited for the taxi.

After a long time, there was still no sign of the cab they were expecting, Feeling uncomfortable, Louis leaned against a lamp post.

"He really got drunk," she thought, observing him.

She hesitated for a while before she drew closer to him and gave him a bottle of water.

"Do you want some water?" she asked tentatively.

It was true that she held a grudge against him. But he had drunk so much tonight that she even suspected that he did that on purpose to avenge her.

He deliberately proposed to drink wine and got those who tried to get her drunk tipsy.

He had no reason to do that. After all, they hadn't offended him.

However, this did not make sense. Judging by his actions and the way he treated her, he had seen her as a stranger.

She couldn't figure it out.

In the past, Louis was crazy and did whatever he wanted. It was not surprising for him to do something weird after he lost his memories.

After all, people never changed.

Thinking of this, she felt a little relaxed.

"Thank you." Louis opened his eye. Surprised as he was, he took the water but he didn't open it.

However, he had his eyes glued on her.

Belle felt uncomfortable under his stare. Fortunately, the taxi showed up. She opened the door and got in before he did.

He lowered his head with a fleeting smile. He walked around the to the other side, opened the door and entered the car.
