Chp 15 Pt. 5 Little Wolf

Tears stream down my cheeks as I nod, acknowledging what he is telling me. I will never see my family again. Leila nuzzles me, trying to comfort me as best she can. I have screwed up royally and it has cost me my life, but if I can save someone in the process at least some good will come out of my mistakes.

“Who can I save?”

“There are two people close to you that are not going to survive this war. Keila and Maliyah.”

“What? My sister dies too?”

“She had another path laid before her but with every decision the path changes. Maliyah’s path has changed and she will fall.”

I struggle with the decision. I can’t let my mother lose both of us. I feel like I will be a horrible person if I choose my sister over Derek’s sister. But the longer I think about it I know in my heart Derek would understand and Keila would sacrifice herself for one of us in a heartbeat.
