Chp 16 Part 4 The Traitor

Aspen

By the time I finally catch up to the horses I hear howling in the distance. It’s River and he’s alerting there is danger. I look at the horses reins and realize they had been cut. I’ve been so stupid, I should’ve never left her alone.

“Aspen!”

I hear Maliyah calling me, panic in her voice. I race back to the river as fast as I can. Once I arrive at the spot we were swimming at, I see River unconscious and a huge man with Maliyah on his shoulders. Next to him is that bitch Carole. She has a sly grin as I rush towards them but I am not fast enough. The man must’ve been a warlock since they disappear just as I was about to tackle him. I end up on the ground and slam my fist down.

“Maliyah!” I rush to River’s side and check on him. I pull out a dart and see several more littered on the ground. Being a dragon, it must’ve taken more than they though to put Maliyah down. Damn it, I shouldn’t have left her. Several guards show up along with Davina and Derek. River’s parents also arr

This writing is getting sloppy. Grammar, spelling and changes in character voices are not consistent. Review your work.

I’m truly enjoying the book. I don’t care about grammar mistakes and you can usually read around them. The only constructive criticism I have with this chapter is the the repeat of the exact same situation that Aspen had already narrated. It’s rough paying for the same thing twice.
