John

— Good evening, my goddesses, he said with that smirk I know by heart. I'm John. This is my friend Auracio. And you, what do you call yourselves?

She shakes my hand. Gently. Her fingers are slender, warm, delicate. Hands made for caresses… for tender gestures… or to make me lose my mind.

Auracio

I look at her. I’m not pretending. This woman... throws me off balance.

Damn.

That gaze. That discreet confidence. That way of looking at me without flinching, without blushing, without looking away like all the others. She knows she pleases me. And she plays with that.

Her name is Ariane. And it already lingers in my mind like a sweet poison.

I greet politely. But inside, I’m on fire.

— Buonasera, amore mio. I’m Auracio. At your service. You are… splendid.

— Thank you, she says with a little teasing smile. My name is Ariane, and this is my best friend, Marianne.

Marianne is beautiful too. A lively, joyful beauty. But she already no longer exists in my field of vision.

— Nice to meet you, I’m Marianne! she adds, laughing. Thanks for the champagnes.

— The pleasure is all mine, replies John. I hope you’re having a good time?

— Honestly? It’s fun. But... I have the feeling you’re expected elsewhere, right? asks Ariane, tilting her head slightly.

I sense the allusion. The other women over there, those who look at me with barely concealed hatred. Perfect bodies, faces made for I*******m. But empty.

— Don’t pay attention to them, John cuts in.

— Them? asks Marianne, squinting. I feel like they’re going to kill us with their looks.

— They’re just looks, I whisper. They won’t do anything to you… well, unless they want to die.

Ariane furrows her brows.

— Excuse me?

— Don’t listen to him, says John, a bit nervously. He’s joking.

I smile. Slowly.

— I never joke.

Ariane

He has that deep, calm voice that chills your skin… or makes it burn.

The famous Auracio walks around the table without asking for permission and positions himself in front of Marianne.

— Can I?

He doesn’t specify what. But it’s obvious: he wants his place. Next to me.

Marianne laughs, gets up with a mischievous wink.

He settles in. His scent hits me hard. Deep, woody, intoxicating. My body reacts against my will. My arms tense, my knees tremble. I hate it.

He sees it. He knows.

And it excites him.

— What do you do for a living, Auracio? I say to cut this tension.

— Import-export, he replies without details. Nothing exciting. And you?

— I finished my studies. I’m looking for a job.

He fixes his gaze on me.

— You don’t look your age… twenty-one? Twenty-two?

— Nineteen.

His eyes shine.

— Almost a child…

— I’m of legal age, I retort sharply.

He smiles. As if nothing.

— That’s not what I said. But you might be a bit young… for me.

I scoff.

— And you? Forty? Forty-five?

— Forty, yes. But I’m young on the inside.

— I have no doubt that’s what you say to all the girls.

— No. Not to all. Only to those who unsettle me.

I remain silent for a moment. Then I lean in.

— John, can you leave us? Marianne too?

John nods without asking questions. He knows that look. He fades away.

Auracio

Finally alone.

I don’t move. Not yet. I want to feel the moment when she wavers.

Our arms brush against each other. I see her struggle not to turn her head toward me. I speak softly, almost in her ear.

— You smell good.

She shivers.

— I could breathe you in all night.

She closes her eyes. For a second. Just one. But it’s enough.

I lean in. My lips graze the skin just behind her ear. Gently. She doesn’t pull back. She breathes faster. I feel her heart beating, as if her body is screaming a desire she doesn’t dare to articulate.

— I want you, Ariane. And not like the others.

I pause for a moment. She opens her eyes, places her hand on my chest. She pushes me slightly.

Not to reject me.

To test my resistance.

— And you think I’m what? An easy prey? A poor little student impressed by a mature man who drives a flashy car and speaks Italian?

— That would be too simple, I say. And I hate what’s simple.

She raises an eyebrow.

— So what? You want to seduce me just to add my name to your list of conquests?

I laugh. Briefly. Without joy.

— You don’t understand. It’s not you I want to conquer. It’s your gaze. Your fire. Your refusal.

— You don’t want me. You just want to win.

She’s got it.

But she doesn’t yet know how much.

— Maybe, I admit. Maybe it’s a game. But it’s a dangerous game, Ariane. Because you’re playing it too.

A silence falls.

She finally looks away.

Then comes back to me. Slowly.

— And what if I refuse to play?

I move closer, my breath brushes her cheek.

— You’d be the first. And maybe the only.

I stop there. I could kiss her. Right now. She’s dying for it. Her body is ready. But not her mind. And I like when one betrays the other.

So I stand up.

She stares at me, incredulous. Almost offended.

— You’re leaving?

— Yes.

— Just like that?

I lean toward her. Very close.

— When you want me… you won’t need to say it. Your body will speak for you. And I’ll know.

I turn on my heels, without another word.

And I leave her there, burning, confused, alone with her thirst.

And above all, with the irritating certainty… that she will think about it all night.

Ariane — Let’s go then! We leave her room, my heart still beating a bit too fast, not because of Alex, but because something inside me tells me that this evening is not going to end well. I have that bad feeling clinging to me like a dark mist. We descend the spiral staircase to join the others in the large dining room. As soon as we cross the threshold, I feel my blood run cold. She is there. A woman. Beautiful, even sublime. Too beautiful. She stands tall, legs crossed, dressed in a perfectly fitted black dress that hugs her curves like a second skin. Soft, flawless skin, with a predator’s gaze. She is the kind of woman you rarely encounter, but you never forget. And right away, I know: I don’t like her. She has the look of those black widows who weave their webs in silence and devour everything in their path. My gaze hardens despite myself. I can feel hostility burning in my throat, like a fire I’m struggling to contain. Alex speaks up, with a charming smile: — Mi

  • Fatal Attraction    Chapter 38: Dark

ArianeShe slowly sits down in the armchair, her movements as cautious as those of an injured bird. Her eyes remain cast down, avoiding mine, while her trembling fingers grip the edge of the empty tray she still holds in her hands. Silence settles in, heavy and opaque, almost suffocating. Even the walls seem to hold their breath. There is something invisible, dense in the air, as if every unspoken word carries the weight of an ancient pain.— Forced to marry? I whisper, my voice barely audible, as if speaking too loudly could make her disappear. I... I'm sorry, Angèle. You had no choice? She shakes her head very slowly. A sad smile appears on her pale lips, but it does not reach her eyes. Those, a piercing blue, remain drowned in unfathomable melancholy. Then, finally, she raises her gaze. There is in her eyes a pain long held back, that of a woman who has learned to suffer in silence.— No, she murmurs. My father sold my hand like one sells land, a property exchanged. He wanted to se

  • Fatal Attraction    Chapter 37: Arrival in Russia

ArianeHe is like Auracio. He takes me with such intensity that I don’t even have time to breathe. My body is at his mercy; he lifts my leg and places it on his shoulder, aiming for a precise angle like a marksman. And he hits… the bullseye. Again, again. My ship capsizes in a landslide of swirling emotions. I feel devoured, consumed, dominated. And I love it.Our breaths intertwine, panting, our half-closed lips sketch a smile of satisfaction. Exhaustion sweeps us away. Stuck together, we fall asleep in the warmth of our shared pleasure. At peace. A rare moment of truce.---The next morning, departure preparation day, I wake up with a strange sensation. My calf is pinned down by a heavy weight. I open my eyes halfway, grouchy, and start to push away what seems to be… a trunk? A big log? What is this? I push harder; it moves.“Stop pushing me, you’re going to make me fall out of bed!” groans a hoarse, sleepy voice.I open my eyes wide. Auracio. Lying across the bed, curled up at the

ArianeShe keeps her mouth open. Frozen. Confused by the sweet tone he uses with me.I smile. Triumphant. She doesn’t understand anything about what’s unfolding before her eyes.— Yes, you should learn your place, you filthy bitch. Here, I’m the boss.I turn slowly towards him, like in a movie, my hand sliding on his collar, until I caress his neck with my fingertips. He barely shivers, imperceptibly, but I feel it.— Baby… What are we drinking tonight? I whisper, innocent, falsely naïve.— What do you want to drink, my angel? he replies, already caught up in the game.I adopt that spoiled little girl look that I love so much. No, not for him. For her. For Ariane. I want her to see. To understand. I am the baby, the queen, the beating heart of this boss she thought she could still seduce. And he… he returns it to me so well.He looks at me with that glimmer of pride, that need to put me on a pedestal. And I love it. I crave it.I am like that, excessive, theatrical, insolent. And I ha

Ariane— I do not intend to lose my money, she said firmly, placing her manicured hands on the glass table. I do not invest my money just anywhere. So listen carefully: every December 20th, I will transfer your profits… if you accept my conditions.Philippe stares at her, suspicious.— And what are your conditions? he asks, his voice full of distrust.— For each investment, I take 45% of the profits. On December 20th, every year. Is that clear?Marco, shocked, widens his eyes.— Forty-five percent? Why so much? You just accepted 37% for your darling!Ariane glares at him.— Are you an idiot or what? You just said “my darling”! Do you think I will apply the same percentages to my baby as to you? He is my man. You are partners. The difference is huge.AuracioWhen she says that… oh my. They’ve lost me. She catches me with just one word. Just one word and I’m hers. My heart pounds. I try to keep my composure, but inside, I’m melting. ArianeI look at him. His eyes are closed, his breath still uneven, lost in the ecstasy of what we just experienced. Lying on the wrinkled sheets, he resembles a teenager who has just discovered carnal pleasures for the first time. His relaxed, almost innocent face contrasts with the raw power he usually exudes. He seems young, vulnerable, blossoming… and all of this is thanks to me. This satisfaction I read in his eyes is my work. A proud smile forms on my lips. Yes, I am proud. Proud to make him feel this way, to bring a man as powerful as him to his knees.AuracioDamn… this woman is going to be the death of me.She is perfect. Too perfect. Every gesture, every word, every sigh from her makes me more addicted. She is a sweet poison, a fire that I let consume me.
