Act 14: The Deal
Light applause follows Devyn as she leaves the stage and heads towards the bar counter, keeping her head down. The man she had tried to keep out of her mind was here and had watched her performance with a look of wonder in his eyes.
Why was Kieran here? And why had he looked at her like that?
“One glass of wine, please.” She orders before taking a seat on the barstool and rubs her temples. Her performance had gone smoothly, and she was happy with the whole gig, but the way it ended left her with knots in her stomach.
“Devyn,” she hears the voice of Ian behind her and turns around, only to stare straight into the face of Kieran. “See, I told you she was amazing,” Ian says and nudges him lightly.
