Devyn stared at the book her mother left her. Although it wasn’t just any book; it was a diary left to her. She grew terrified of opening it because if the last 48 hours proved anything; it was that she didn’t know who her mother was at all.
Grabbing a bottle of wine from the cellar (She found this gem yesterday) and a glass, she got comfortable on the sofa and opened her mother’s diary, wondering what she would find out now. A picture fell out of the diary, which Devyn held up and smiled at; it was her mother on stage doing what she loved and looking happier than she had ever seen her look. Her scarlet hair fell down her back in waves and she looked simply ethereal. A sense of sadness took over Devyn’s heart as she realised what her step father reduced her mother to. Then she started to read.

Kieran “Kieran! What the fuck have you done?!” Danielle walks in just as Kieran removed the blade from the Cartel member’s throat. He surveys the carnage with a smile and walks towards Danielle. “What? A little blood upsetting you?” He asks, wiping the blood from his hands. They just arrived in Chicago after another tipoff about Devyn went south. The criminal underworld got wind of Kieran’s bounty on Devyn’s head and everyone was trying to trick him. This was the second Cartel sect to try their luck by getting him alone. Many MC gangs tried before now they were all burned to ash. Danielle walks towards him and lands a slap on his face. “You’re a fucking idiot! As if we don’t have enough shit to deal with now, the fucking Russian wants to see you!” She spat out, and before he could react, her last sentence stopped him cold. Fuck. Dimitri wanted to see him? “Why does he want to see me?” He asks, pocketing his knives and holstering his gun befor
DevynIt’s been a month and Devyn still had no clue of where to start with the search for her twin brother. She had the means, she had the capital, but how does one go about finding a ghost? She gets into her SUV and heads into town to gather a few supplies for the week. Over the past month, she had been keeping a low profile in this town, but with her hair and beauty, she sticks out like a sore thumb. An elderly shopkeeper mistook her for her mother when she first walked into his shop, but she had to play dumb about who that was.Sighing as she parked her car out front, she grabs her wallet and her eyes fell on her old phone. She has not switched it on since she left Manhattan, but she knew the moment she did, Kieran would be able to pinpoint where she was. Would he still be looking for her after a month? Would he still care? She sits back in her seat and held the cell phone in her hands, moving it from one hand to the other, conte
Devyn Devyn wakes up from yet another fever dream where Kieran took her away from everything, killing all those who disrespected and violated her. Whisking her away to their love nest and vowing never to let harm come to her again. But reality crashed through and she knew Kieran wasn’t there. Of course, he wasn’t. If he was, she wouldn’t be bent over double from the blows to her back administered earlier. No one told her why she was here or what purpose she served, but every evening someone would come in here to violate her in the worst possible ways. Devyn rubbed her stomach and wished she was still naïve, wondering where the men were taking her after they ambushed her at the cottage. She knew something was off because they spoke Italian and her heart hasn’t stopped hammering since they shoved her in between two men in a truck and blindfolded her. She tried asking them who they were and why they were sent, but they wouldn’t answer her. When
KieranHe looks at Dimitri, so many questions behind his eyes, then he shoves him back. “What? No, that can’t be,” He says as confusion overtakes him. Devyn was pregnant? How was that possible? Dimitri walks towards Kieran with no fear, knowing that he could snap at any moment, and nods. “She looks far along, Teague, four months at the most and if they continue to torture her like that, she will lose the child.”Four months? He paces the floor with anxiety gripping his heart as hopelessness sets in his core. Four months... four months and yet she left him. Dimitri walks towards him and shoves him against the wall again. “You need to get a grip right now, Teague. Devyn will need you to keep calm so we can rescue her. Now, are you ready to do this or not?” He asks Kieran, voice calm as ever. But Kieran shakes his head, “No, I’ll kill the guy.” He says with a grin, catching Dimitri’s
Devyn“He’s with the fucking Russians! Why didn’t you tell us that, idiota!”“The Westies wouldn’t fucking side with them. If he did that it would be a blemish on our lineage.”The door closes behind the man as he leaves Devyn’s cell once again, arguing with his Italian cohort. She curls into a ball and wishes for death to take her after seeing Kieran’s broken expression during the video call. He saw her getting violated in the worst way possible. Would he even want her after this? Would he even bother trying to save her?Kieran knew this was something between him and the person he had called Conor, someone he seemed to recognise after she ripped the sleeve of his shirt. This angered her assailant. After he killed the call, he landed a vigorous kick to her abdomen… and now she was bleeding. “I’m going to die here,” she said out loud to no one in particular and
KieranA tall, bulky man with grey eyes and blonde hair walks towards Kieran as soon as he steps into the private hospital and leads him off to the side. Kieran could only assume that this was Dr Ivanov, Dimitri’s contact. “How long have they have held her for?” He asks, surprising Kieran. Dimitri must have called the doctor with news of his arrival. “Close to two months,” he admits and the doctor nods before opening a door to a ward for Devyn. “Lay her over there, then please wait outside. We will handle things from here.” He explains to Kieran, who lays Devyn down on the hospital bed and looks down at her, feeling as if he was leaving his heart on the table for them to poke at. “We will take care of her, Mr Teague,” Dr Ivanov says and gestures towards the door. Kieran nods then turns on his heel and leaves the room. The wait was the worst. It was close to 2 hours, and they were still busy with her
Devyn Her eyelids felt heavy as she eased them open. What had happened? There was a firefight. Then Kieran appeared and… She shot up and her heart beat fast. Kieran had been there. He came for her. Where was she? Her eyes scanned the room and fell on the sleeping figure in the chair in front of her. He was leaning over onto her hospital bed and held her hand in his. Her heart grew at the image of him. He still looked so peaceful when he slept. Tears fell down her cheeks as she squeezed his hand. “Kieran?” His eyes flew open at the sound of her voice and he sat up, looking straight at her. “Devyn…” he says, his voice breaking, and he stood up to wrap his arms around her. “Devyn,” He says again, breathing in her scent and she couldn’t help but hug him back. She was back in his arms, which was a bittersweet feeling in itself. Sighing, she gently pushed him away and their eyes met as guilt burnt hot in her chest. “Kieran-” “Don’t,
DevynShe looked at him as if he had grown an extra head, then realised what he had said. “What?!” Devyn exclaimed, but all he did was chuckle and kiss her forehead. “Mass is coming over. I mean it will take a few hours but he’ll be here. Or don’t you want to meet him?” Kieran asks. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to meet him, although they had met before, it was more the fact that she would be meeting her brother… her flesh and blood. Her other half, so to say.Devyn suddenly chuckles. “How crazy is it that we both gravitated towards you?” she says and looks up at him with a smile. Her mind goes back to what he had said earlier about Dimitri’s wife. “You mentioned that someone wanted to meet me?” She asks and Kieran nods, “Amaranthe Baranova. A few years ago she was kidnapped and tortured. I was told that if they had gotten to her half an hour later, she would ha
