Devyn arrives in Ontario the following day and bought herself a car from a dealership, one that didn’t scream ‘I have money’. It felt so strange to buy a car clean off the show room floor, pay for it in full and driving out feeling like a million bucks. Well, in Devyn’s case 50 million. She was on her way driving to her mother’s cottage, which, according to the lawyers, had to be cleaned out and aired once a month, as per her mother’s request.

During her drive up to the cottage, she wondered why her mother never ran away with her and came to live in Ontario. She was certain they would have been happier up here; happier and safe.
