Chapter 1

ผู้เขียน: Snail
In my previous life, when our enemies were closing in, Vivian Giordano, my stepsister, shoved me into the narrow alley they were chasing us through, buying herself precious time to escape.

This time, she did not do that. Instead, she handed the chance to survive to me.

"Jules, run!" she shouted urgently. "As long as you make it to the main street, the Morettis' soldiers will be there to save you!"

She herself, however, rushed into the alley with undisguised excitement, running straight toward the direction the enemies were coming from.

In that moment, I understood that Vivian had been reborn, too. Otherwise, she would never have given up her chance to survive and handed it to me.

I did not hesitate for even a second. I turned and bolted toward the street, and just like in my previous life, I ran into the same unit that had once saved her.

Vivian's former husband, Caporegime Marco Santoro, was a tall, broad-shouldered man with a full beard. His presence alone was oppressive. Even the men who fought alongside him did not dare stand within half a meter of him.

Vivian was terrified of him. Even after becoming his wife, she would scream in panic whenever he came near.

That pitiful man was now leading his soldiers in a brutal sweep, eliminating the remaining enemies.

He stood far away from me, yet the voice he called out carried clearly, unexpectedly pleasant to the ear.

"Ma'am, I am Caporegime Marco Santoro. Do not be afraid. I will escort you home."

Suppressing the fear rising in my chest, I lowered my head slightly, my tone filled with gratitude.

"Thank you for saving me, Caporegime. I am Julia Giordano, the eldest daughter of the Giordano family. Please take me home."

I knew very well that my father, Victor Giordano, would never miss an opportunity to climb higher through connections like this, yet I still asked him to send me home.

After all, I did not dare take the risk. If I ran into even a single enemy left behind, a fragile woman like me would have no chance of surviving.

"There is no need to be so polite. It is my honor!"

Marco waved his hands in a fluster, but the movement was far too large. The long gun in his grip slammed into the corner of the wall, the barrel snapping clean off as it clattered to the ground, making me jump in fright.

He bent down sharply to retrieve it, only for his backside to slam straight into a patrol car.

The brand-new vehicle caved in with a deep dent, its alarm shrieking sharply through the street.

The soldiers rushed over, their voices filled with helplessness and despair.

"Caporegime sir, please stay where you are and do not touch anything. The family's firearms and vehicles cost a bomb. If you keep dismantling them, the Boss will skin us alive!"

Marco froze in his bent posture and obediently did not move an inch. Beneath his messy hair, the tips of his ears flushed so red they looked like they might bleed.

I could not help laughing.

The fear I had felt toward Marco eased slightly, and an absurd thought surfaced unbidden.

He was... kind of cute?

I hurriedly crushed that thought.

Thinking that the Moretti family's most ferocious Caporegime was cute would make anyone think I had lost my mind if they heard it. That man who could scare children into crying had nothing to do with the word "cute".

In my previous life, he had terrified Vivian so badly that she suffered nightmares every night and nearly chose to end her life.

That was why, in this life, she would rather risk being mistakenly killed by our enemies than be rescued by him.

Of course, the most important reason was something else entirely. She knew that even without the soldiers, she would not be in danger because she would soon encounter the Mafia Boss's heir, Luca Moretti, along with his entourage.

In my previous life, Luca had rescued me in time and then pursued me relentlessly.

Not long after, we held a grand wedding.

Vivian had been so consumed by jealousy that her eyes turned red as she stood among those seeing me off, muttering to herself over and over again, "I should've been the Boss's wife. If only I had met the heir first."

Now that she had been given a second life, she could not wait to seize what she believed was her rightful happiness.

What she did not know was that meeting Luca was not the beginning of happiness at all.

It was the start of an even more terrifying nightmare.

  • Fate Reloaded   Chapter 10

I burst into tears and rushed toward Marco, my heart filled with the joy of having him back from the brink of loss. The military medic we had brought along, Dr. Vincent Russo, immediately stepped forward to examine him."Caporegime sir’s injuries are quite serious, but the wounds were treated properly, and his physical condition is excellent. He has already recovered for the most part."Dr. Russo nodded in relief."However, he must still be sent to a hospital as soon as possible. He has remained unconscious for too long and needs a CT scan to check for intracranial injuries."He was lucky. When he collapsed from his severe injuries, a hunter from the mountains below found him and took him home. However, his injuries were truly severe. If we had not found him in time, he might still have lost his life while unconscious.I gave the kind hunter a generous reward and secretly took him to a private hospital.I knew that right now, Luca wanted nothing more than for him to die. If he

Marco was transferred without any warning. He was sent to the front line to fight against two opposing forces.Under normal circumstances, with his capabilities, a conflict of this scale was nothing to him. He was a Caporegime known far and wide. The troops he led had remained undefeated for three consecutive years. Across Italy, there was no one who did not know his name. However, this time, he was ambushed.Someone had leaked their movements. The entire unit was ambushed midway by enemy forces. The battle raged for two days and two nights, yet reinforcements never arrived.By the time support finally came, half of the men had already been lost in the fighting, and Marco was missing. The heavy losses left the Boss furious. At just the right moment, Luca stepped forward and placed the blame squarely on him. "If the Caporegime hadn't been blindly arrogant, the enemy would not have had an opportunity. Since he is already missing, I will not pursue responsibility further."He put o

When she saw him walking toward us, Vivian shyly adjusted her hair and stepped forward. She had just opened her mouth to speak when Marco, who had stunned her so completely, reached out thoughtfully, took my bag, and handed me a cup of coffee."Are you hungry? I will take you to eat something delicious later."Vivian’s expression changed instantly. She pointed at my nose and cursed, "So this is how it is! You are cheating! I am going to tell Marco!"Her face flushed red with anger, though only she knew exactly what she was angry about.Marco tilted his head slightly and looked at her in confusion.Vivian glanced at him shyly and immediately softened her tone, putting on an affected sweetness. "Hey, handsome, do not let this old hag fool you. She is a married woman."He looked even more puzzled, looking at Vivian as if she were a complete stranger. "Ma’am, are you one of Julia’s relatives? I don’t think I’ve ever seen you before."His words nearly made me burst out laughing.Ov

The face beneath the beard was unexpectedly refined and striking, its proportions nearly perfect. His features were sharp and masculine. A straight nose, lips that carried an effortless sensuality, paired with smooth skin and well-defined brows, gave him a presence balanced somewhere between youthful and mature."You look so... young?" I blurted out. "Why have you been keeping a beard all this time?"Before seeing his true appearance, I had assumed he was much older, at least in his thirties. Now that the beard was gone, and with a cashmere wool coat thrown on, he looked exactly like a college student who had not even graduated yet.Standing beside him, I suddenly felt embarrassingly out of place. His fair face flushed instantly as he stammered, "I-I don't look authoritative enough. If I do not keep the beard, I cannot command respect."I looked at his ears, burning red, and found it oddly fascinating. So he really did blush that easily. No wonder he had kept the beard. With thi

Vivian felt both ashamed and furious. The person she despised the most had just witnessed her most miserable state. In this moment, she was so angry that she wanted to kill someone.I forced myself to suppress the fear in my heart and replied softly, "The Boss summoned Marco... We were just about to leave."After a moment of hesitation, I asked cautiously, "Viv, are you okay? He..."I wanted to ask whether she needed help. In my previous life, being unable to find help and being abandoned by the entire world had been unbearable.Even though my relationship with Vivian was bad, if she truly needed help, I would still do my best to offer it.However, she misunderstood me completely. Her voice turned sharp as she snapped back, "I am doing just fine. What makes you think I'm doing badly?"She raised the bank card high, trying to prove how happy she was."Do you see this? My husband gives me everything. I am the future Boss’s wife. I have supreme power and endless money. These are t

  • Fate Reloaded   Chapter 5

The memories I had deliberately buried came crashing back like a tidal wave.My face drained of all color in an instant. In my previous life, I had lived in despair under the control of this demon. Luca loved the sight of women’s blood and the sound of their painful moans. He delighted in absolute submission. Even a wife was nothing more than a toy to him.On our wedding night in my previous life, he beat me until my body was covered in wounds. When I finally managed to escape back home, I had cried and begged my father for help.Unfortunately, he had said coldly, "You are already married to him. No matter what happens to you, it has nothing to do with this family."Not only did he refuse to save me, but he tied me up himself and personally delivered me back into Luca’s hands. That was when I finally understood that Father never loved us. We were nothing more than tools for him to gain power. The day I was dragged back, I was beaten to the brink of death. He locked me in a pitc
