Elias' POV

The shadows took form and became wolves.

Dozens of wolves emerged from the darkness; they had hollow eyes and fur made of matter.

From their jerky movement, I knew they weren't real. It was just a manipulation from Rhea’s magic.

They were her puppets, carrying out her orders.

There was something about fighting with my own mother that made me weak already.

It was the worst thing to wish on anyone, having to fight with your own mother.

I looked into my brother’s eyes and saw that

Elias’s POVThe black pillar rose high above the compound and then collapsed inward with a sound like the world tearing. The force threw dust and broken stone in every direction. I shielded Liora with my body as best I could while Kael and Ronan did the same. When the light and noise finally faded, the center of the open ground was a shallow crater. Lucien was gone. Only scorched earth and a lingering cold remained.Allaric was the first to approach the edge. He tested the air, then the ground. “He’s not here. The blast was real, but I don’t think it killed him.”Kael set Liora down carefully. She was conscious but very weak. The blue glow under her skin had almost completely faded.“The link is broken,” she said softly. “I can’t feel him anymore.”Ronan scanned the trees. “Then where did he go?”“I don’t know,” she answered. “But the plague seed he talked about… I can still feel it. It’s small, but it’s out there.”Allaric turned to the pack members who had gathered. “Secure the bord

Kael’s POVWe hit Lucien from four sides at once. Allaric from the front, Elias from the left, Ronan from the right, and me from behind. Liora stayed in the center of the light circle, pouring everything she had into the battle above us.Lucien was weaker now, but he was also more dangerous. The loss of the old ritual piece had left something wild and unstable inside him. His attacks no longer followed clear patterns. Shadow burst out in every direction.I took a hard hit to the shoulder and kept moving. “Don’t give him space!”Elias locked onto one of Lucien’s arms and dragged it down. Ronan went for the legs. Allaric struck at the chest. I aimed for the back of the neck. For a few seconds it looked like we had him. Then Lucien released a blast of pure force that threw all four of us backward. I hit the ground hard and rolled. Pain flared along my ribs.Liora’s light flared in answer. The blast that should have reached her burned away before it got close.“I’m still here,” she called

Liora’s POVThe light I sent out left me empty for a few seconds. My arms shook. Kael’s hand on my back was the only thing keeping me upright.“Easy,” he said. “You don’t have to do it all at once.”“I do,” I answered. “The moon won’t wait.”Around us the fighting continued, but the worst of the controlled rogues were free now. Many of them had turned on the ones still under Lucien’s power. The pack was gaining ground.Lucien stood twenty steps away, chest rising and falling hard. Black blood ran from several wounds. He no longer looked untouchable.“You think this changes anything?” he called. “The deeper link is still there. I can feel every drop of your blood that touched the runes.”I forced myself to stand without Kael’s help. “Then feel this.”I reached through the bond for Kael, Elias, and Ronan at the same time. Their strength flowed into me like warm water. I shaped it into light and sent it along the old connection Lucien still held.He staggered. “Stop.”“No.”The light fol

Ronan’s POVThe sky above the pack lands turned darker even though the blue moon still hung there. Lucien’s power pulled at the edges of the light. I could feel it pressing against my skin like cold hands.Liora stood in the center of our small group, light pouring from her palms. The circle of clean blue energy around her grew wider. Every time it touched a controlled rogue, the sickly glow left their eyes.“They’re breaking free,” I said. “More of them.”Kael wiped blood from his mouth. “Good. We need every fighter we can get.”Elias stayed closest to Liora, ready to move if Lucien tried another close attack. Allaric and Ava held the outer edge. Cecile had taken the younger ones to a safer building, but I could still hear distant fighting.Lucien watched the spreading light with narrowed eyes. “Clever. But temporary. The deeper working still holds.”Liora’s voice was calm. “Then I’ll reach the deeper part too.”She took a slow step forward. The light moved with her. I felt the mate

Elias’s POVLucien’s power hit like a storm. Dark energy slammed into the defensive line and threw several pack wolves backward. I dug my claws into the ground and held my place.“Stay close to Liora!” I shouted to Kael and Ronan. They already were. The three of us formed a loose circle around her while Allaric took the front. Ava and Cecile pulled the younger fighters farther back.Lucien walked forward slowly, as if he had all the time in the world. “You can struggle as much as you like. The moon is still high. The blood is still active. Every minute that passes makes the plague stronger.”Liora’s voice was steady even though her body trembled. “What does the plague do?”“It weakens the will,” Lucien answered. “First the body grows tired. Then the mind follows. Soon the strong forget why they fight, and the weak simply fall. Perfect order follows.”Kael growled low. “We’re not interested in your order.”“You will be,” Lucien said. “Or you will be dead.”He sent another blast. I met

Kael’s POVWe ran until the trees began to thin. The blue moon lit the path ahead like cold daylight. Every step sent pain through my legs, but I did not slow down. Liora’s weight in my arms reminded me why we could not stop.“Talk to me,” I said to her. “Stay awake.”She lifted her head a little. “I’m here. The link is getting stronger. He’s already at the border.”Elias ran on my right, still in human form but ready to shift. “How bad is it?”“I can feel the pack fighting,” Liora answered. “Ava is hurt. Cecile is trying to protect the younger ones. Alpha Allaric is holding the main gate, but the rogues keep coming.”Ronan cursed under his breath. “We should have killed Lucien when we had the chance.”“We will,” I said. “First we reach home.”The mate bond pulsed between the four of us. I used it to share what strength I still had. Liora’s skin felt too hot. The ritual energy still moved under her skin like restless light.“Does it hurt?” I asked.“Yes,” she said simply. “But I can

Liora’s pov“You haven’t gotten out of bed since last night, are you sure you are fine Miss Loria?” Cecile asked. I nodded my head momentarily, not able to utter a word. She walked closer to me, still not believing me. “Can I touch you?” She asked, her voice quivering slightly. I sat up immedia

Chapter ThreeLiora’s POVKale spoke first, leaning back in his chair with a dark smirk. “It was hard to swallow food with a roach at a table.” His words jabbed at me, but I kept my gaze on my plate, the grip on my fork unconsciously tightening. Ronan chuckled, “Looks like our sweet little omega

Chapter TwoLiora’s POVMy eyes widened. “Mate?”Alpha Alaric nods solemnly, digging into his pocket to pull out an envelope.
