Shocking discovery

As the night wore on, I couldn't shake the feeling that I had made a huge mistake. I didn't know if it was rejecting Alpha Leo or coming home, but something didn't feel right.

And as I lay in bed that night, I couldn't help but wonder what the future held for me and my newly-discovered werewolf self.

The next morning, I was sitting in my room, feeling all sorts of emotions—anger, confusion, and fear. Alpha Leo had summoned me to meet with him and the elders.

I had no idea what they wanted from me, but I was scared to death. My mother tried to talk me out of going, but I knew I had to face my fears.

I arrived at the venue of the meeting, a large clearing in the forest. Alpha Leo and the elders were all there, waiting for me.

I took a deep breath and stepped forward.

"What do you want from me?" I asked, trying to sound brave.

Alpha Leo stepped forward and looked at me with his piercing eyes.

"Sophia, we need to talk," he said. "We cannot ignore the fact that we are mates." "It is our destiny to be together."

I tried to protest, but he wouldn't let me speak. "I know you have someone else in your life, but you cannot deny the bond that exists between us," he said firmly.

The elders nodded in agreement, and I felt like the weight of the world was on my shoulders. What was I supposed to do? How could I choose between my boyfriend and my weird mate?

"I need time to think," I said, feeling overwhelmed.

Alpha Leo nodded. "Take all the time you need." But know that we will be waiting for you. and that it would be hard for you to escape from this."

I left the meeting feeling even more confused than before.

The words of one of the elders stuck to my mind like glue. "Sophia, an alpha cannot rule without a mate."

How was I supposed to make such a life-changing decision? And what if I made the wrong one?

I arrived home and was surprised to see my father instead of my mother. He's always busy with work, and it's rare to see him at home.

I tried to act normal, but I couldn't hide the distress in my face. He noticed and asked me what was wrong.

Without thinking much, I spilled the beans and told him everything about being a werewolf.

He was shocked, and I could see the anger rising in his eyes. He couldn't believe that his own blood was a werewolf.

He started to yell at me, calling me all sorts of names.

"So you are an animal?" "Why would I have an animal as my daughter, especially when I'm not one?" He started off by asking.

"Dad, I'm not an animal, just a werewolf." "Stop making it sound like something else," I retorted, but that made the whole thing worse.

"What's a werewolf?" "Isn't that a beastly animal?" "So why are you denying you're not an animal?" He asked, and I couldn't even get myself to reply to him this time.

My mom was even included in his insults for giving birth to a weirdo like me, and he even threatened to disown me.

I couldn't take it anymore, and I ran out of the house, tears streaming down my face. I had never felt so alone and rejected in my life.

After leaving my father's house, I had nowhere else to go. Kelvin's place could have been an option, but I didn't want to disturb him, so I reached out to Bradley through our mental link. She offered to let me stay at her place, so I went there.

While at Bradley's, I happened to stumble upon Alpha leo whom I have been trying my best to avoid since I arrived there.

But something seemed off when I saw him. He was at a deserted area in the woods, where I was just taking a stroll and trying to clear my mind.

As I walked closer, I saw him transform from the wolf he usually is into a human standing tall and straight.

"I bet you're so surprised to see me this way." "But I can explain, and that is only because you're my mate and I shouldn't be hiding anything from you." He turned over to me and stated.

I couldn't even catch my breath, and I didn't know how to respond to him.

"I'm not a wolf through and through, like the rumors you heard." "And I can shift into a human rarely, and that happens two days a week," he relayed, and my mouth opened wide in shock.

"You do? Why then hasn't anyone seen you, and why haven't you presented yourself to me in a human form all this time?" I managed to ask.

"An Alpha cannot lay all his cards on the table, can he?" "I need to have a few hidden cards of my own." He replied with a wink. It was a rare reaction from him.

"So you decided to keep it a secret from them?" I queried.

"Yes. But my mate should know. Before I could process the preference he was giving me, I heard him speak once more.

"I would like you to visit a seer with me," he announced.

"A seer? What for?" I asked.

"To know more about ourselves," he replied, and so I followed him to see the seer.

I only went out of curiosity. I wanted to hear what the seer had to say.

Reaching there, the seer already seemed to know why we were there and told us something shocking about our situation: that Alpha Leo would only have a steady and normal human form if we mated with mutual agreement.

If it's done without it, I would die and he would never have a steady human form, and she added that the both of us are destined to be together.

"He will continue to be aggressive in pursuing you, seeing the condition he is in, and that will make it impossible for you to keep rejecting him," she reckoned.

I was shocked to hear this, and so was Alpha Leo. I didn't know what to do next.

How was I going to mate with someone I wasn't even sure I loved or wanted to be with? The situation was too complicated for me to handle.
