First shift

The pain was excruciating. Every bone in my body felt like it was tearing, and my skin stretched and tore as if it was trying to break loose from my body. It was my first shift, and it was happening in the worst possible place—a dark alleyway behind the school, with my boyfriend Kelvin beside me and a group of bullies in front of us. I had always known I was different, but I never knew why until that moment. My senses were heightened, and I could smell the fear emanating from Kelvin as the bullies advanced on us. They had been taunting him for weeks, and I couldn't stand to see him hurt anymore. Without thinking, I lunged at the bullies, my body contorting and twisting as my bones rearranged themselves. Fur sprouted from my skin, and my nails elongated into razor-sharp claws. "What? This is not some woods or a remote area. Why the heck is there a wolf amidst us?" I could hear one of the bullies query. "Isn't she the girl with him all this while? How then has she turned into a w

Special ability

"My grandfather was a werewolf although he didn't pass it down to my mother and I didn't become one, but you did," she said, looking at me with concern. I couldn't believe it. So I really had a heritage of it? It was a lot to take in. But why didn't you tell me before? Why keep it a secret?" I asked, feeling a bit hurt. "I didn't want to scare you. I thought it would also skip my generation, or that you might not inherit it at all. I didn't want you to grow up feeling like you were different," my mom explained. I understood her reasoning, but I still felt a bit angry. I had the right to know about my own heritage, didn't I? "I understand, but I still wish you had told me. It would have saved me a lot of confusion and fear," I said, feeling a bit emotional. "I'm sorry, Sophia. We were just trying to protect you," my mom said, sounding apologetic. I took a deep breath, feeling a bit calmer. "So, what do I do now? How do I control this... werewolf thing?" I asked, feeling curious.

Meeting the Alpha

Mrs. Wilson was one of my favorite teachers at the Academy. She was kind, patient, and always had a way of making difficult concepts easy to understand. One day, she taught us about finding our mates. According to her, every werewolf had a mate out there in the world, and it was up to us to find them. She explained that when two werewolves found their mates, they would experience an intense connection that was almost impossible to describe. It was like a magnetic pull, drawing them toward each other. They would also be able to communicate telepathically, just like we did with mind links. I was fascinated by this idea. I couldn't help but wonder if I had a mate out there somewhere. And if I did, would I ever be able to find them? As Mrs. Wilson spoke about finding our mates, I couldn't help but feel a little nervous.I had a boyfriend, Kelvin, who I loved deeply. But according to Mrs. Wilson, if I had a mate out there, I would feel an intense connection to them that couldn't be i

Mates

As Alpha Leo's eyes locked onto mine, I felt a jolt of electricity shoot through my body. It was as if my soul recognized him before my mind could catch up. He walked toward me, his eyes never leaving mine. As he got closer, I noticed how muscular and strong he was. His silver fur shone in the sunlight, and his scent filled my nostrils, causing my heart to race.I couldn't deny that I was attracted to him, but the realization that he was my mate was too much for me to handle. "Hello, Sophia," he said in a deep, melodic voice that sent shivers down my spine. "H-hi," I stuttered, unable to form a coherent sentence. "I see you have discovered the rumours going on about me" he said, referring to the fact that no one had seen him in a human form. There was something striking about him as well, he could communicate like a human though in a wolf form. "Yes, I have," I said, my mind still reeling from the shock of it all as I tried to shift away from him but then, he stepped in front of

Shocking discovery

As the night wore on, I couldn't shake the feeling that I had made a huge mistake. I didn't know if it was rejecting Alpha Leo or coming home, but something didn't feel right. And as I lay in bed that night, I couldn't help but wonder what the future held for me and my newly-discovered werewolf self. The next morning, I was sitting in my room, feeling all sorts of emotions—anger, confusion, and fear. Alpha Leo had summoned me to meet with him and the elders. I had no idea what they wanted from me, but I was scared to death. My mother tried to talk me out of going, but I knew I had to face my fears. I arrived at the venue of the meeting, a large clearing in the forest. Alpha Leo and the elders were all there, waiting for me. I took a deep breath and stepped forward. "What do you want from me?" I asked, trying to sound brave. Alpha Leo stepped forward and looked at me with his piercing eyes. "Sophia, we need to talk," he said. "We cannot ignore the fact that we are mates." "It is

Alpha Leo's dark past

"There is no need for you guys to waste time anymore. I see that the problem is coming from you, Sophia, but then you should make haste while the sun shines" The seer Admonished. That was the last drop of the hat before Alpha Leo gave the seer some amount of money and we were already on our way back. "You knew this all along didn't you?" I asked Alpha Leo as we journeyed back home. "Of course, I don't. I'm sure you saw how shocked I was to hear that so there is no need for you to lay accusations on me" He replied. "How then did you know to take me there?" I probed still not buying his Idea. He may have initiated some kind of dealing with the Seer beforehand, all to convince me into accepting him. "As an Alpha, there are occasions when you don't just rely on your judgment or reasoning but seek the knowledge of others and that includes people like the seer we just met" He replied and I saw some sense in that answer of his. "So what are we going to do now?" I asked. "I should be a

The Break up

I took a deep breath, gathering my resolve. It was time to face my parents and confront the turmoil that had engulfed our family. With a heavy heart, I made my way back home, informing Alpha Leo through his assistant of my intention to do so.I wanted to let him know that I needed to handle this on my own. As I arrived at the front door, the sound of my parents' heated argument reached my ears. Their voices echoed through the house, filled with anger and frustration. My heart sank, knowing that the tension had escalated even further during my absence. I stepped inside, finding my parents locked in a fierce dispute. My mother's face was etched with worry, while my father's expression held a mixture of anger and disappointment. The air in the room was thick with tension as I mustered the courage to speak. My mother's voice rose, filled with anger and desperation. "How could you do this, Alfred? How could you push our daughter out of the house?" My father's face hardened, his eyes

Vulnerable

Tears streamed down my face as I walked away, unable to look back. The pain in his voice echoed in my ears, a haunting reminder of the love we once shared. It was a painful farewell, but it was the only way to protect him and the life we had dreamed of. As I continued my journey, the sound of his heartbroken cries lingered in the air, a testament to the sacrifices we sometimes have to make in the name of love. –Alpha Leo's POV– During one of my days in human form, I strolled through the peaceful woods, the moon casting a gentle glow on the surroundings, I came across a secluded corner where I noticed a figure huddled on the ground, sobbing softly. Intrigued and concerned, I approached, only to discover Sophia, the woman who had captured my heart, in tears. "Sophia," I whispered, my voice filled with genuine worry. "What's wrong? Why are you crying?" Startled by my presence, she looked up, her tear-stained eyes meeting mine. The sight tore at my heart, and all I wanted was to ea

Going on a far journey

—Sophia's POV— I stood in the room, my eyes darting around, taking in every detail. It didn't take long for me to realize that I was in Alpha Leo's secret hideout. The realization hit me like a thunderbolt, and a mix of awe and vulnerability coursed through my veins. As I absorbed the surroundings, a sense of intimacy enveloped me. The room carried the unmistakable mark of Alpha Leo's presence - his essence seemed to linger in every corner. A soft smile crept across my face as I contemplated the significance of being here, of being granted access to his hidden sanctuary. Thoughts swirled in my mind, a whirlwind of emotions and questions. Why did Alpha Leo choose to bring me here? Was I truly that special to him? The mere possibility sparked a flicker of warmth within me, and my heart quickened its pace. I took a tentative step forward, tracing my fingers along the edge of a bookshelf, the books whispering untold stories. It was at this moment that I made a decision - a decision

Coming to My Aid

As I walked back to the packhouse with Ben carrying my bags, my heart felt heavy with a mixture of sadness and longing. Alpha Leo's sudden departure meant that not only would he be absent for today, but also for an extended period. I couldn't help but feel a sense of loss and uncertainty. The next day, I decided to venture out to the field where the other werewolves from the pack had gathered. As I approached, I couldn't help but overhear their hushed conversations. They were gossiping about Alpha Leo's ongoing search for Luna, the one who would be his mate and queen. The words stung my heart like thorns."He still hasn't found his Luna. What does that say about him?""I heard he's been searching far and wide, but no one seems to be the right fit."My chest tightened, and I felt a knot forming in my stomach. The weight of their words pressed upon me, and I couldn't help but blame myself. Maybe I wasn't good enough for him. Maybe I couldn't fulfil the role of Luna that he needed.Te
