Chapter One

"TIGER! TIGER! TIGER! TIGER! TIGER!"

The crowd chanted non-stop for the winner of the final round. He stood strong and proud, muscled chest glistening with sweat under the multiple lights, dark hair damp with his own sweat, eyes filled with joy. He had won another match. This was his 25th win in a row, keeping his title as battle king. Anyone who challenged him loses woefully.

"You can come down now idiot. You've basked in their praises long enough" Kai said to him, covering him with a robe. "You have a stable job which pays you in six zeros. I don't know why you still choose to fight in the slums. I keep telling you everyday. These people live by the code of the street. They're ruthless and very dangerous. I don't hope for it to happen but they often cheat during these kinda things and the person they fight with end up dead. Do you have some sort of death wish?"

Seiji tied the ropes of the robe around his waist and rolled his eyes at Kai's nagging. Seiji wasn't married but Kai gave him the feeling of a nagging wife. His senpai says the same things over and over again after every fight.

"You have to stop fighting in places like this. I don't trust these people. I bet the other fighters envy you. What if one of them drugs you? What if they kill you in your sleep? What if-"

"Kai senpai" Seiji whined, cutting him off. "I'll be just fine. I've been doing this since I turned 13"

They made their way out of the ring. "Which is all the more reason why you should stop. For God's sake you're 20. It's not like this is your only source of income as I've pointed out many times"

"Why do you bother when you know I don't listen to you?" Seiji asked. They got to the changing room and Kai followed him inside, locking the door behind him.

"Who knows? Maybe you might listen to me one day"

Seiji chuckled. "Not gonna happen senpai". He grabbed a towel then entered the bathroom to take a shower.

Kai sighed. At least he tried today. He proceeded to change into a three piece suit. Their uniform as bodyguards. Kai is almost as tall as Seiji but lean with dark brown hair and small dark eyes. He is Seiji's senior and also partner. They're always paired up for missions except when given individual assignments. They met at the Thunder training academy five years ago.

Seiji was 15, orphaned and living on the streets. He had beaten up a group of bullies who tried to steal his food and money, leaving all six of them with major injuries. Two had their arms broken, one had a busted eye, another had some broken ribs and the last two lost a few teeth.

The boy was a beast. Instead of letting him get taken by the juvenile center, the owner of the academy, Mr Sunny Lee, fought for him and took him under his wing.

Now, Seiji was what they called a one man army. He definitely didn't need Kai to complete joint missions but Mr Lee made sure Kai was by his side to keep him in line and stop him from taking matters into his own hands. And to also keep his rage in check for Kai was the only person Seiji listened to. Why? Their reason will be disclosed later.

Seiji came out of the bathroom, surprised to see Kai fully dressed. "Why are you dressed up like that? Do you have a date? Who's the poor lady?"

Kai gritted his teeth in annoyance. "Date my foot! Don't tell me you forgot about the new assignment. You know we have to go pick up the clients from the airport. Did you even read the files I sent you?"

Seiji nodded as he wiped off his body and hair. "Oh yeah! I'm to protect an actor. What's his name again? Uh..." He tried to recall but he couldn't. "Whoops. Can't remember. That's why I have you here senpai"

Kai resisted the urge to strangle the stubborn stupid man in front of him. "His name is Kagarawa Yuuma. He's a very famous actor. How can you not even know him? I wonder how you'll even manage without me" he said with a sigh. "Read the files again. Memorize everything written there you dumbass because I'm not going to help you this time"

"What do you mean?"

"Mr Lee gave me a different assignment and I have to leave for China tomorrow. I'm only going to accompany you to the airport so you don't mess up and scare the client on the first day"

Seiji rolled his eyes but said nothing, knowing Kai was right. His appearance normally scares off the clients. Seiji grew up to be tall, big and buff. Like a giant. Most people feel intimidated by his presence and he always gave off this roguish vibe but this also made him attractive to women. Besides, Seiji is very handsome. What woman doesn't love a tall, big, handsome man? Unfortunately for them, Seiji already had someone in his heart.

He took out a pair of jeans, a white shirt and a black jacket from his bag pack.

"What are those?!" Kai screeched instantly.

Seiji proceeded to wear the clothes as if nothing was wrong.

"Tanaka Seiji! You will change that trash right now! Where's your suit?!"

The stubborn guy shrugged as he put on his jeans. "It's uncomfortable senpai and restricting. Besides, it's just for tonight. Can't you overlook it?"

Kai remained speechless but he was cursing Mr Lee in his heart. Why?!!! Why him?!!! Seiji knew the dress code was always a black suit but he wasn't going to wear it. The boy would be the death of him one day. Knowing nothing would make Seiji change his mind, he groaned but said nothing, letting him do as he wished.

"Thanks senpai!" Seiji smiled, knowing he had won. "Don't worry. I'll make it up to you by buying you dinner"

"Whatever. Let's go. I don't want to be late"
