A costy mistake

MIRANDA’S POV

Life in this small town was pretty simple Ms. Caroline had a bakery and I had started working there with two other girls, she had employed me as the cashier and she was teaching me how to bake while the other girls were waitresses, she also mentioned that I would occasionally be required to help the waitresses. When she offered me a salary I declined because I felt like she had already gone out of her way to make me feel at home but she told me she didn't feel want to feel like she was taking advantage of me.

I hadn’t made any friends yet but I was content with the quality of life that I was living. Tomas and Cindy seemed to be a distant memory and the nightmares I used to have when I first got here had been visiting me only once in a while I could dream of a better future here where I was sure no one could find me.

The scars that I bore from my time locked away by Thomas had started healing and disappearing and that was something that I never thought would happen. The
