Dante’s POV

Alright, let’s stop the pretense. That door didn’t just open, it screeched like a dying animal and slammed a flood of torchlight into my cell. I squinted up, blinking like some half-drowned rat yanked from the bottom of a well. No clue how long I’d been down there. Days? Weeks? Time melts in a hole like that. All I saw all day was stone and the smell of mold.

When the guards walked in, rattling chains, for a second I thought Dominic had finally gotten bored with letting me rot. Maybe the rumors had gotten too loud, and now it was time for the grand finale...Dante’s head on a pike.

But nope. Instead, the captain bowed in respect and said. “By order of the council, Beta Dante, you are to be released under guard.”

Just like that.

I glared at him, suspicion twisting in my gut. Released? Why bother now?

It didn’t matter.

The chains were slapped back on, digging into my wrists as they yanked me up. My legs were noodles. Absolute jelly. But I wasn't going to let them see me stumble. I gritted my teeth, straightened my back, and let pride sink in.

They escorted me out to the corridor. The air seemed fresh and breathable now. And then finally… Castle halls. Warmth. Light. The world is still spinning along just fine without me.

And there she was.

Elora.

Standing at the top of the stairs, stiff as a statue, eyes locked on me as a flicker of relief passed through her eyes. Part of me wanted to spit, remember every time she had picked Dominic, every time she had turned away. But all I saw was the girl who once whispered she couldn’t let me go.

“Dante,” she said, voice barely a breath.

I froze.

The guards tensed, as if waiting for us to get into a fight or something. Instead, I just stared at her. My mouth felt dry, and my heart was beating fast.

“You… fought for this?” My voice sounded unsure.

She nodded, swallowing hard. “The council didn’t want to. Some of them still don’t. But I told them you’re the only one who can lead the borders. That we need you.”

We.

That word hit harder than the shackles ever did.

I should have said thanks. Some part of me was grateful, I guess.

“You vouched for me,” I said, flat, searching her face. “Stuck your neck out. Risked everything.”

“Yeah.”

The silence between us was a living thing, sharp, choking. I wanted to reach for her. Maybe punch a wall. I did neither.

Finally, I let out this laugh, dry, ugly, no humor in it. “You never learn, Elora. You tie yourself to me again, and if I go down, you’re coming with me.”

Her jaw clenched. “Then I'll go down with you.”

For a second, I couldn’t breathe. Didn’t even get a chance to answer before the guards pulled gently on my chains, signalling we had to go. The moment was shattered. I let them drag me away, refusing to look back. The council chamber was crammed with all the usual sour faces. Elders sitting there, eyes sharp enough to cut. I took my seat, chains rattling, just in case I’d forgotten I was still a prisoner.

Elora sat on Dominic’s throne, shoulders squared, chin up. She looked every bit the Luna, untouchable, calm, cold as ice. But I’d seen her eyes out there. I knew the truth.

Elder Cavan jumped right in, practically snarling. “This is a mistake. We’re letting a wolf accused of treason back in. What if he turns on us?”

Elora didn’t flinch. “I already told you. If Dante betrays us, you can hold me responsible.”

Her calm rattled them more than if she’d screamed. I almost laughed.

Almost.

Harrod eyed me. “You’re under strict guard, Dante. No leaving the castle without an escort. No decisions without council say-so. Got that?”

“Yeah, I got it,” I muttered, voice low. “But let’s be real, your borders are bleeding out there. Warriors dying. While you all sit here arguing about trust, the rogues are sharpening their blades. You don’t trust me? Fine. But if you want this pack to survive, put me where I belong. On the front lines.”

That got their attention. The elders muttered, some pissed, some maybe thinking. Harrod stared at me for a long, heavy beat, then gave the barest nod.

He gave this little nod, super serious. “Fine. You’re back on border duty, don’t get cocky. One slip and boom, you’re dead. No trial, no speeches.”

“Wow, thanks,” I muttered under my breath. Relief flickered in my chest anyway. Guess I’d rather be useful and alive than rotting in a cell, even if it’s just to piss them off.

But then I glanced over at Elora. She was staring at me, eyes filled with something I couldn’t understand. Hope? Fear? Or just that connection between us, stubborn as ever, refusing to die no matter how hard we both tried to ignore it.

That bothered me more than the council threats.

After everyone left the room, I found myself alone with her in the hallway. The guards stayed back, pretending to be invisible but obviously eavesdropping.

“You really shouldn’t have done that,” I said, whispering.

She smirked. “Done what?”

“Stuck your neck out for me. The council’s gonna eat you alive for it. Mira’s already plotting, and Dominic...” My voice caught, stupid thing. I swallowed it down. “He will call it betrayal.”

Her hand moved, like she wanted to grab mine but decided against it. “Dominic’s gone, Dante. The pack needs you. I need you.”

I wanted to believe her, wanted it to mean something. But all the anger I had for Dominic still made me mad.

“Do you need me?” I shot back, voice sharp. “But do you even want me, Elora? Or am I just the sword you pull when Dominic can’t hold it anymore?”

She sucked in a breath. Didn’t answer.

That silence? Yeah, it said everything.

I turned away before she could see my face. I walked out the door.

But then, I shook my head and walked back in.

Dominic’s POV I stared at Elora. She is the real Luna of this pack. She was always so ready to do things for the pack. She has gone through a lot for this pack. My mind rolled back to when we were little and she would always say things she would do for the promise she would become Luna. I always laughed, and to him, he rages and makes a great Luna. Although I never believed it then, I just said comfort to her. But look at her now... the only thing different here is that she is married to me instead of Dante. She loves Dante much more than she loves me, that I could tell, but the bond was stronger. I love her too, but my brother and I can possibly share her because of the love and the bond between the three of us. Elora would be our Luna, She would be both our wife, and Luna. This was the only thing I would do for my brother and her. I made my brother my Co Alpha so we can both be with Elora. The full moon climbed above us, old and bright, a silver coin tossed into midnight velv

Elora’s POVThey used to say peace came quietly. But honestly, it never crashed in like a battle or scorched like heartbreak. It just slipped in, soft as dawn, slow and gentle, so easy to miss until, one morning, you noticed the birds were singing again. The Crescent Moon was finally mending. The smoke stopped rising from the broken borders. Laughter started to echo where pain and crying used to fill the air, real laughter, the kind that wraps around you and promises things will get better. And me? I wasn’t sitting on a throne or standing next to any Alpha. I was right there in the middle of it all, with my people. Most mornings, I went to do my Luna duties. I help rebuild broken homes, paint houses, and make sure the children and adults are being treated well in the healer's chambers. I took care of nursing mothers and made sure there were enough supplies to last for the day. Nobody was left unattended. The young warriors still in training often trailed after me while I inspected the

Dante’s POVHaving Elora fully back was something that lifted a happy mood in me. Although I didn't like the fact that we both had to share her, and I am not sure how, there was nothing I could do. I only wanted her to live and that was enough for me. I didn't want to be greedy. When Dominic sank his fang into her neck, I felt something in me snap. It was like him touching something that was not his in the first place. But he is my brother and there was nothing I could do. He was the Alpha and Elora was his wife. Even if she were my mate, I couldn't possibly stop her husband from trying to save her life. After we were done reconnecting, I left for my room to freshen up and catch a little sleep that I've been missing for quite some days. I was sure Elora was fully recovered now and would not slip in and out of consciousness anymore. Immediately, my head hit the bed after my cold shower, and I drifted off to sleep. Tomorrow was going to be a long day, and I needed to be clear-headed

  • Fated To One, In Love With The Alpha Twins   Chapter 136

Elora’s POV I stared at the empty space within me with the moon goddess's voice echoing around me. She seemed to be humming a song. Everywhere felt so peaceful and I wished I could stay here for a little while. Back in the real world, I didn't want to take part in a lot of evil. I felt a sudden jerk and jumped."What is that?" I asked the moon goddess."You are being called back to life. It looks like your time with me has ended," She said, her voice soft."But I don't want to go just yet. At least not until everything is settled between the two brothers," I argued."Elora. This isn't about you. Your devotion to the pack is what has kept the brothers alive. If you don't go back to them, I'm afraid of the outcome," I shook my head violently. This isn't happening"Then at least tell me who I am going to choose," I pleaded."They are both yours..."Before I could make out what she had meant, I felt my body being pulled back as I tried to resist. When I opened my eyes, the air felt of

Dominic’s POVElora’s breathing was shallow. Each breath she took gave me a scare. It felt like forever, and my heart raced so hard. Her skin was really pale, and the mark Dante left was disappearing fast.“No,” Dante choked out, shaking her. “No, no, stay with me—Elora, please!”The healer’s hands trembled over her herbs and glowing bottles. She couldn’t pick one, couldn’t commit. Her voice cracked. “Her energy’s fading… her spirit’s slipping!” Her eyes darted to me, wide and scared. “If one bond won’t hold, let it pass through both. Bite her, Alpha.”I froze.Me? Bite her?I looked down. Elora’s lips parted, her face too still. I forced myself to breathe and met Dante’s eyes. He looked as if he would snap. “Don’t touch her,” he snapped. “She’s mine.”The healer’s voice cut through everything, sharp and furious. “You fool! If she dies, she’s no one’s!”Dante’s jaw clenched. That anger washed away, replaced by fear. His eyes flicked to mine. He swallowed, then nodded, slow and stiff

Elora’s POVMy chest squeezes up tight, first that low, annoying ache, then bam, it’s like a fist yanks the air right out of my lungs. I open my mouth to say I’m fine, but nope, the words just... melt. The room spins and goes all watercolor blurry.“Elora?” Dante’s voice, all echoey and weird, comes at me from somewhere underwater. Then the universe just flips sideways. The floor's gone. I’m weightless, but someone’s arms are strong; catch me before I faceplant. My head lolls back. I hear Dominic yelling for the healer, but his voice is just noise, buried under this ringing that’s taken over my brain.“Elora, look at me!” Dante’s voice cracks, desperate. He grabs for my wrist, checking for a pulse. I catch a glimpse of his eyes, those ridiculous golden eyes that always made me feel safe, they’re wide with panic now.“I can’t... she’s not...” the healer stammers, and honestly, that’s not what you want to hear right now.Everything dissolves into chaos. Hands everywhere, pressing cold c
